Long Term Media Project IIÂ
Dusk
West Village, Manhattan
My film is about trying to find the positive in situations and in life. I used Gavin as my meme because he’s amazing.Â
Short Term Media Project 11
Make a post to Tumblr that describes the footage and how you plan to edit it (i.e. what parts will you use and why?).Â
The footage I collected was some B-Roll. I know the general direction of where I want to go with the film but not word for word. Because of that I collected B-Roll because I knew that it would work with whatever way I take the project. The footage is of the Rutgers campus because I’m doing it in the style of the day in my life. There’s footage I got of traffic so I want to super speed that. I also really love when people overlay handwritten script over their video and I want to do that maybe for writing the location of the shot. I’ll probably end up doing more of a jump cut style of editing as well. Basically I just want it to look not too staged and more genuine and free flowing.Â
Untitled- Lynton Wells
Lynton Well’s painting Untitled as a metaphor for the un-expectences of life.
Lynton Wells fuses photography and art in his work displayed at the Zimmerli Art Museum. (Unfortunately can’t find a picture of it online nor did I take a picture of it) The photo has a white curtain painted on top of it and it is obvious that it is covering something. As if it is hiding something. The artist poses the question, So what is behind the white curtain?Â
This is a metaphor for the un-expectences of life. We do not know what is behind the white curtain it’s what you make of it. The same way we don’t know what is going to come in life but it’s what you make of it. My LTMP2 is about seeking the good and seeking the happiness and beauty in all things even if we don’t know what’s to come.Â
teaching you something about my world- the rough cutÂ

Essay: Mental Illness
Too many students today suffer from mental illness.                    Lying in bed all day. Not going to class. Not having the desire to eat. Not wanting to do anything. Maybe it’s not just from laziness. Maybe it’s something more than that.
Too many people tell them to suck it up. College doesn’t stop for anybody. Not studying. Not eating right. Not trying to better oneself. Not doing enough. Maybe there is no excuse. Maybe it’s true that life really doesn’t stop for anybody.
I think the most concerning factor of mental illness is that so much of it is mental and personal. Your best friend, your room mate, the boy that sits next to you in class could be suffering and you might have No idea. No idea what is going through their head and No idea how to help them.
