Once Jenson was sat in the alcove with her, Vaya did the only logical thing to do to a new, paying, companion, and blew a rather thick and unpleasant gust of smoke his way before dropping the fag to the ground and stomping it out. She followed up the motion by pulling her knees up to her chest and leaning her head back against the cold stone of the alcove wall, eyes still barely visible under the wide brim of her fedora.Â
“Jenny, Jenny, Jenny…” she crooned in what might almost have sounded condescendingly teasing, had it not been said in a sort of monotonous deadpan of a tone. As if by some instinctual force of nature, her fingers twitched, as he spoke again – almost as if rolling themselves around an invisible cigarette. “I, of course, will apply the exact same level of class and decorum to my win as I do to every other aspect of my life. Which, as it might reassure you to hear, means plenty a bottle to my own tastes.” Though her face remained as stony as she so often made certain it did, the sound of the coins moving about the pouch shot a frenzying flicker of greed through her like lightning down her spine. As the velvet pouch landed in her lap, the twitching fingers of her right hand executed an act strikingly similar to tapping a cigarette butt off her knee, before joining the left in opening the pouch and pulling out a single galleon, holding it up for inspection. Jenson’s words managed to catch Nevaeh somewhat off guard, leaving her to peer around the edge of her coin to regard him quizzically for a moment before figuring out what he was on about. “Reminiscing, are you, Wilson?” she noted, wryly, turning the coin over in her fingers before dropping it back into the pouch and returning tipping the brim of her hat up, a bit. “Feeling nostalgic of times spent far drunker than you are now? Or is it just that you’re regretting making a bet you couldn’t win?”
Jenson was simultaneously reminded why he’d avoided Nevaeh in the past and why he’d grown to somewhat appreciate her company in comparison to others when she spoke. “I tend not to regret, it leads to doubt and guilt,” Jenson said in an unusually well-constructed and thoughtful sentence. He watched her roll the coin in her hand. “Sure you don’t want to bite it, just to make sure?” he offered drily, amused by this. He shifted slightly, his leg brushing against hers, the small alcove in which they were seated not providing much room. “Didn’t you hear?” he asked, feigning surprised. “I don’t drink anymore. Apparently.” He moved his hands into his laps, knowing that Nevaeh’s sharp eyes would have already caught the unmistakable tremors that coursed through them, originating from a lack of alcohol.

Nevaeh Lynton-Azure didn’t lose bets. In fact, it was fair to venture as far as to say that in her many years of taking gambles on even the most frivolous of things, she had never once lost. Of course, this wasn’t exactly a fact that she paraded about – that would only garner the interest of those keen to change that fact and, for all the bets she placed, she certainly couldn’t afford to lose a single one. More notably still, however, was the fact that Nevaeh absolutely never forgot a debt she was owed.Â
However, despite her unscathed track record for collecting whatever she might be due, the actual act of going off to seek out her betting partners was never an issue she saw fit to tackle; nor one that she had yet needed to. There wasn’t a question in her mind that Jenson, being the strangely resourceful prick that he was, would find her should he actually feel like forking over the fifty galleons he had only very recently come to owe her. It seemed an unlikely scenario to her ever-sceptic mind and yet, for some inscrutable reason, Nevaeh had the nagging suspicion she’d be seeing the drunk, before the day was quite over. It was as such that – come the day she was owed a sum far greater than she could possibly have paid, had the tables been turned – Vaya was not the last bit surprised to be found by Jenson Wilson, himself (despite the fact that she’d made things difficult on him, hidden away in the dreariest and most secluded castle alcove she could find). “Jenny.” She clipped in return, after blowing out a trio of billowing smoke rings and flicking ash off the singed tip of her cigarette. “That we did.” She went on, peering lazily over the rim of her hat at him and adopting the snarky smirk that frequented her face as she took in his tone and demeanour. “I told you that you’d placed a losing bet precisely a month ago, Wilson, no need to look like a petulant child, now.”
Jenson shifted until his face was half shrouded in the darkness that covered her from the shadow of the alcove. He knew without even having to see her face exactly what expression she was wearing; it was the only one she affected around him, although he suspected that it was slightly more triumphant than other times he’d encountered it. He knew that she was probably eager or needing the money; he wasn’t completely oblivious to whispers and rumours when he was sober, and Dominique herself had mentioned before that Nevaeh was largely on her own. Yet Jenson felt no pity for her. That wasn’t what this money was about. This money was about Jenson’s inability to get her into bed, a failed bet that he was sure would haunt him for the rest of his life. He decided to take the horrid nickname she returned to him as an action of affection before letting his eyes roll back in his skull. “Petulant child, I am not. But I am already guessing you’re going to be one hell of a bad winner,” he said as he reached into the folds of his robe. Coins clinked promisingly as he lifted out a heavy velvet black bag. “And to think of all the bottles I could have bought with this,” he muttered a touch sadly as he tossed the bag to her. He breathed in deeply, relaxing slightly against the wall of the niche they were both seated in, the acrid smell and taste piercing his lungs. He felt no desire to move now that business was done. Maybe he had also kidded himself into thinking that Nevaeh was pleasurable company to be around, even if they both weren’t naked. They’d found enough solace around each other right before Jenson was at his most morbid. “I particularly like how you were responsible enough this time to find an area where the ceilings won’t melt if I yell at them,” Jenson said in a deadpan voice. However, he was unable to stop the corners of his mouth flicking up as he referenced the very night he’d just been focusing on.

In hindsight, Jenson began to regret ever making the bet. Nevaeh was too guarded and disliked him too much for him to ever get her into bed, and after Dominique came along, it was impossible. He didn't give it a second thought until it ticked over to the day they'd arranged. He'd picked up his watch, the memory of making it suddenly striking a chord as he lay in bed with Dominique and fell flat on his back, groaning is distaste. Upon questioning him, Dominique laughed at Jenson's fate and convinced him to actually give Nevaeh the money. So here Jenson was, searching for the girl who wouldn't be found if she didn't want to be. He thought following the scent of smoke that seemed to echo the one that perpetually hung around Vaya was a good idea but it turned out to be a spotty fourth year. Eventually, his efforts gave way to success as he found her in a secluded corner of the castle. "Vaya," he muttered as he approached her, using the name he'd come to address her by simply on the principle that she didn't like him doing it. Sure enough, smoke curled around her face, dancing around the rim of the hats she was wont to wear. "I believe we had a bet sometime in the last month." His tone was more than a little annoyed; fifty galleons was fifty galleons after all, and he'd lost the opportunity to see what the enigmatic and hostile girl would have been like in bed. Besides, Jenson never liked to admit defeat, but Dominique had asked and whatever Dominique asked, Jenson did.
Kiss Me Again: Dominique || Jenson
Dominique felt the familiar pain in her chest which would resemble heart failure. She’d felt it before - the night Scorpius said they were nothing but sex for a while - and she was feeling it twice as worse this time around. Jenson just expected her to give up and go back to him. She was a fighter, not a quitter, but she couldnt bare to be in this room with him, not while he was half-way to ridiculously drunk. The sound of shattering glass only made her grip the handle more, her back turned on the one person she’d tried to save. “I love you, not him..” was all she could say before she was gone, tears cascading down her reddened cheeks. Eventually she found herself, collapsed and in a world of nothing but despair, as she slumped against the dormitory door of the sixth year Slytherin girls. Dominique knew it was no use being around Jenson when he was how he was.. but she also knew he was broken and upset. Can he be saved? She still had to try.. just not right now.
Jenson drunk until the stars went blue and the room started to spin, even with her parting words. He could hear the hitch in her voice as she spoke. She was about to cry, and not just angry, frustrated tears. Dominique was about to really cry and it was his fault. Maybe he would be able to bring himself to care if his feelings and emotions weren't swimming ten miles below a sea of amber liquid that was buzzing in his ears. Jenson hardly realised as he collapsed onto his bed, staring at another empty bottle when  a tear rolled down his cheek. Did he really make her go? He knew that alcohol was his lifeline when Dominique wasn't there but she was here now. Maybe he didn't deserve to keep her and it was better she was away. The room kept pitching and Jenson felt as though he was drowning in his tears. He closed his eyes to make the room blacken and go away. Even then, his mind played tricks on him and fed him images of Dominique walking into his room silently, her beautiful blue eyes reddened and sliding into bed beside him. Jenson could take anything but that and eventually he willed himself to pass out, unable to separate reality from fantasy.
Kiss Me Again: Dominique || Jenson
With a trembling lip, Dominique watched Jenson taking a rather unhealthy drink from a bottle. Everything she had worked towards, keeping him sober while they were together and making sure they were pretty much constantly together. His words stung her, like drugs in her system, she could feel herself shutting down to him again. She knew about his past, his father. She knew everything and he shot her down so cruelly. Unable to watch him murdering his liver any longer, Dominique took a step backwards, hugging her jacket tighter to her body in an attempt to rid the chills being sent down her spine, while she averted her gaze to the door. He wasn’t going to do this to her, was he, surely? Make her choose? “I think you need to work out your priorities, Jenson,” she whispered, before taking a hesitant step towards the door.Â
“Oh, so I have to be sober to be good enough for you. Is that it now? You can’t handle me like this?” Shut up, Jenson, some part was screaming at him before waves washed over the words, bleaching them from his mind.As per usual, Jenson ignored the sober and caring part of his brain that was drowned in the very amber liquid he scorched his memories with nightly. She knew that she was only doing this because she cared. She wanted to save him but right now, he didn’t know if he wanted to be saved or be okay. Because if he was okay, if she did manage to fix this broken shell of a damaged boy that could do nothing but drink and love her, when he screwed up again, he would have nothing to blame it on and he would fall back twice as hard. So he hurt her and pushed her away so her soft, caring words wouldn’t creep in and make him want to put the bottle down. “Why don’t you crawl off to Malfoy like you always do?” he said bitterly, turning away from her, pretending not to care if she left or went. To add insult to injury, he drained the dregs of the bottle that had been fill moments previously and let it drop to the floor and smash.Â
Fearless: Jenson || Scorpius
Scorpius gave a light growl as he was pushed. He was getting to Jenson more than Jenson was getting to him. He couldn’t help but give a slight chuckle- he knew, he’d always get to the older boy in front of him, it was something he was good at, even if he wasn’t trying. In this case- he was only half trying. He knew Jenson could soon crack. Hearing his words- Scorpius closed his eyes and took a deep breath.Â
“I wasn’t using her” He stated simply. He didn’t respond to his question about why Dominique went to Jenson- mostly because he didn’t have an answer, nor did he care. That part of his life was now over, done with. He had to move on.
Scorpius flattened his ribes out and ran hands through his hair, giving another small shrug “Just sort out your drinking problem yeah?” Another smirk crossed on his face- this time he was trying to get to him. If Jenson threw the first punch- at least Scorpius would get off easier. He knew with all the fights he’d gotten in- whoever threw the first punch tended to get in more trouble. Scorpius picked up his bag, pushing past Jenson and started walking off.
Jenson snarled at the younger boy's chuckle, shoving him again. He watched as he closed his eyes and Jenson's fists clenched, ready to swing and smack into his face. Nothing was funny about this, not for Malfoy, so he had no idea why he should be laughing. Jenson stared at him when he spoke; he doubted that was anywhere near the truth. Scorpius had done nothing but use Dominique, or that's what Jenson decided he wanted to believed.
And then Scorpius Malfoy went and put himself in hell.
He mentioned the drinking problem. jenson was sensitive enough when Lara or even Dominique mentioned it, and here was Scorpius implying that it would get him in trouble and cause him to hurt Dom. It wasn't a fucking problem! But no one else could see that. Everyone else just saw the gleaming eyes and sloppy movements and slower speech. Jenson watched as Scorpius stepped away from him before he pulled out his wand and flaccid it. The other boy went crashing back into the couch before Jenson stormed forward and just punched him in the face, hopefully breaking his nose again.
Kiss Me Again: Dominique || Jenson
Shit. Dominique frowned and sat up, pulling her shirt back on. “Just that you can’t seem to keep quiet when you’re drunk… Who is next to find out from a drunk Jenson that he’s back with that blood sucking Veela? Lara maybe?” She says, recalling something he once called her before standing up and crossing her arms. She knew Jenson was sensitive about his drinking, and she knew the reasons behind it, but she wanted to help him and he wasnt willing to help himself.
"I can keep quiet," Jenson said, scowling. "Nate's my friend and I trust him, alright? And for your information, I don't go near Lara when I'm drunk." Jenson watched as she stood up and he moved off the bed himself. "You don't get to control when I drink. You know nothing about it," he said, reaching under his bed for his trunk as he spoke. He'd been avoiding drinking in front of her for the last while because she'd asked him to but fuck her right now. He swiped a bottle of firewhiskey angrily out from the trunk and unscrewed it, downing a third of it before coughing slightly. It burnt through his veins and he glared at her, waiting for her to say anything.
Kiss Me Again: Dominique || Jenson
“Oh.. Course you were,” Dominique muttered, trying and failing to keep the disappointment out of her voice. She thought maybe once things were better between them, he would have stopped drinking as much but, alas, he wouldn’t. “Ever think about not drinking?” Dominique, rather sternly, asked him, her eyes fleeting from his face to the door.
Jenson rolled his eyes at her tone. She was like Lara in some respects; she wouldn't understand his drinking, she certainly wouldn't understand his bone-crushing need for oblivion caused by her, and the addiction that had followed it. He watched as her eyes darted across the room and his gaze narrowed into a pointed glare. "Ever think about not telling me how to run my life?" No matter how much he loved the small, beautiful blonde, drinking and Jenson's reliance on alcohol would always be a sore point he held close to himself. he would react badly to anyone bringing it up.
Fearless: Jenson || Scorpius
Scorpius tensed slightly at his words. He knew he was trying to get under the blondes skin, make him angry, make him do something he will probably regret later’ Scorpius gave a small shrug. At first the homework was to in fact, get his mind away from Dominique but it was slowly starting to become something he did for him. He no longer cared what people thought of him, if he was the nerd of Slytherin, then so be it. “I know she doesn’t, don’t forget, I’m the one that took her virginity, the one she first loved” Scorpius smirked slightly, he didn’t want to play dirty anymore but sometimes it called for it.
Slowly Scorpius put his quill down in the ink pot, putting his essay in his bag. He knew that he could easily get hit but he didn’t care. If Jenson wanted a fight then Scorpius would fight back but until then- he would stay quiet. He had changed a lot in the past week, he knew people would probably wonder if he was trying to get Dominique back by changing but truthfully-he didn’t want her back, he didn’t need her. He was in someways happier.
Scorpius stood up slowly, squaring his shoulders and looked Jenson dead in the eye “You know, if you ever hurt her, you will regret it” A slight smirk crossed his lips. Scorpius wasn’t talking about him doing the damage- there were plenty of family members who would hurt the guy. The boy knew from experience.
Jenson's jaw tensed at the other boys words and smirk. He hated to be reminded that he had had Dominique first. "Yeah and if she loved you so badly, why did she crawl over to me at all, hm?" he said, stepping forward and grabbing the front of his robes. If only he had of had Dominique first, then maybe he wouldn't feel the need to do this right now. He shoved the boy away with force after he stood. Right now, Jenson felt he needed to get at Scorpius, he needed to get this out of him. He wanted to punch the other boys face, a punch for every smirk that had ever crossed it and been directed at Jenson. Then, when he had to remember, he would recall Scorpius Malfoy's face covered in bruises, put there by Jenson.
"You know, I'm not an asshole like you and I won't ever hurt her, possibly because I wasn't just using her," Jenson said, hoping to goad him into a fight. He seemed less reluctant to taunt Jenson back than usual but the little he had said so far had been enough to make the blood rise to jenson's head. If there was anything he hated the most, it was to be reminded of something that had happened or gone wrong in the past; that was why he hated anyone mentioning his drinking.Â
Kiss Me Again: Dominique || Jenson
"What?” she mumbles, looking at him as he snorts. “What’s so funny?” Dominique asked, confused that they were just lay here yet he found something funny. Then she realised how amusing this was. They had gone from hiding in a tent in the forest, to making out in the common room and here they were again, hiding in the dorm. “Oh, you never told me you told Nate.”
"I'll tell you later," Jenson said with a smirk, trailing his arms over her torso, marvelling at the softness of her skin. His movements stilled when she spoke again. "I didn't really... tell him, so to speak. All I mentioned that we'd slept together and you know Nate - he tried to give me a pep talk. I was drunk and it just kinda slipped out." Jenson's hands resumed their movements.
Sounds like a decent snack to me.Â
Sounds like a very decent snack to me *winks* Wanna share?
Fearless: Jenson || Scorpius
Scorpius was sitting in the common room, doing his homework. The heartbreak from Dominique- he was still getting over. He loved the girl for three years- it wasn’t something that would just switch off. Sometimes his mind would go back- analyse what he did wrong to loose her, what he could have done to keep her, make her love him the way he loved her but he came up short. The moments he saw her, she looked happy, happier than she had ever been with him and for that, he was thankful. She deserved happiness more than anyone he knew. He was trying to forget her, drift all his thoughts into other things- such as quidditch and school work. He was surpised to see that in a week most of his grades had gone from exceeds expectations to outstandings. Before he hardly paid attention in class- he was always sending notes to Dominique or skipping class because he could. He liked this- meant he would eventually do well enough in N.E.W.T’s or so he hoped.
Scorpius chanced to look up, seeing Jenson a scowl formed on his face. He hated the guy- even if he made Dominique happy. He didn’t just hate him because he was with Dominique, he hated how he acted, like he was everything- kind of the serpents that’s where he was wrong. The title always went to Malfoy’s that’s the way it was. His grip tightened on his quill as he noticed him walking over. Why couldn’t he just leave him be? Scorpius had done nothing.
Hearing his question, Scorpius closed his eyes tightly, he knew that would probably give away the fact he had actually been crying but he didn’t care. Nothing mattered much to Scorpius now, people could make fun of him all he wished. The blonde gave a slight shrug and went back to work “What’s it to you?” He mumbled, trying to concentrate best he could on his essay.
Jenson smirked as the other boy gave him a scowl. It went beyond Dominique and beyond Lara. In fact, the mutual hate between the Malfoy and the Wilson went far beyond any actions either of them had done. They just generally didn't like each other. He watched as Malfoy tensed, the quill folding slightly under his fingers. The little nerd was actually studying. Probably trying to replace the vast whole Dominique had left. Jenson knew he should have some empathy towards him. He knew more than anyone what it was like to have the girl you loved - to have Dominique in particular - just ripped away. But he just couldn't bring it in himself to respect the other guy, not with the memory of dark, alcohol filled nights hanging over him.
"It's nothing to me, you're nothing to me," Jenson said before a cruel smirk appeared on his face. "Just like you're nothing to her." A part of him wanted to provoke Scorpius into lashing out physically at him. He felt the need to hurt him like he had hurt Dominique before. "What are we trying to do now, replace her with studying? Good luck. Studying doesn't... respond in the same way she does, shall we say."
Fearless: Jenson || Scorpius
Jenson came down from his room relatively happy. This week had been the first time he'd been happy in a long time. Dominique was sleeping on his bed and he hoped she'd still be there when he went back. He ran a hand through his hair as he walked into the common room, his eyes doing their usual scan of the room. What he wasn't expecting was to lock eyes with a blonde boy; Scorpius Malfoy. Jenson hadn't seen him since Dominique had left him, nor did he have any plans to. When he looked at him, all he could see was the other boy with Dominique in his mind's eye and he never wanted to remember him. He supposed he should be the better man and just ignore him, leave him on his own but he was a Slytherin; it was almost physically impossible for Jenson. In addition to that, he'd taken his perfunctory drink for the evening when Dominique had fallen asleep, meaning he was buzzing slightly. The alcohol seemed to fuel him instead of numbing him. "Did you cry, Malfoy? When she left you, did you cry?" Jenson jibed out as he crossed the room.Â
Kiss Me Again: Dominique || Jenson
“Did you like that?” Dominique said with a soft laugh and a smile. With an emphasis on each word, and her lips going to his with each pause, she repeated easily. ” I…Love…You, Jenson.” She was partly expecting either a tight hug and his lips, or for him to roll her over and dominate her there.
"I liked it more than you'll ever know," Jenson told her softly, his face stretching into a wide smile as she repeated it slowly. "I will never be sick of hearing those words from your beautiful mouth. Ever." True to her thoughts, he leaned down and kissed her, pulling her tightly into him before just lying there with her. This was one of his favourite things to do. A sudden thought crossed his mind and he snorted.Â
