I don't know... maybe.
-sits tending to one of the old fliers- Damnit Cadence...
-aggressively works on it-
*Runs awkwardly up to Alex*
How was your day today?
It was pretty boring, but... it's still a good day.
*Runs awkwardly up to Alex*
Oh, um. Thank you.
Yeah... you're... you're welcome.
*Runs awkwardly up to Alex*
*pauses and grabs Alex*
That was for the month we didn't really talk...
Flyboy || Matthew and Jeremy
"Epithet. A name for something with a description, from the Greek, ‘attributed, added’.”
He shook his head. “The measures of intelligence or aptitude are inadequate in any system and convey nothing but your ability within that system. You’re just fine.”
He sighed. “Wish I’d learnt that at a much younger age than I did. Bit younger than you. Then maybe I wouldn’t have had so much angst about being a scholastic achiever and it being another something to criticise myself about.”
"Thanks for the teacher talk, boss," he chuckled," all that, tests don't really matter, you matter. It makes me tingly."
He kept eating thinking about how life was so strange within the walls and underground, hell it was weird to think that now they were like moles hiding from a predator.
"Well you can always teach an old dog new tricks, heck I only fell in deep love when I was 29... we all might be late bloomers."
Flyboy || Matthew and Jeremy
Matthew smiled shyly.
"Ah, okay. Well, it’s Matthew, if you ever break the habit."
He giggled softly. “It’s really funny to me, I’m the least close to that epithet there ever was.”
"Epi-what?" Jeremy said as he took another spoonful or thingamagigy, "sorry, I forgot a lot of the vocab after a while, I never was the brightest on that part of the test, and yet here I am, with an archaeology degree in the middle of the planet."
He chukled as he kept diving into the food.
Flyboy || Matthew and Jeremy
Matthew sat and fiddled with his sleeves, until another face appeared before him.
He watched Jeremy’s face flicker and he wished people would just say things.
"What?" he said, half-giggling. He looked briefly at Jeremy’s tray and back up at him. “What was that?”
He shook his head. “I’m…I’m… medicated.”
"Well as long as you're feeling better," he siad," and sorry... I was just wondering why I keep calling you Boss even though we're no treally an expedition anymore."
He took the utensil that they had lent to him and dipped it into the food and decided to chow down. It actually tasted edible today. This was good enough.
Flyboy || Matthew and Jeremy
Matthew smiled and waved at him. He was never very good at calling to people, so he just talked slightly louder than usual, his voice fading as he became concious.
"Not much," he stated, realising he was blushing.
He sighed and shook his head. If Stellan could see this, he would have his definitive, undebateable proof this was the same Matthew.
He motioned that he would wait until Jeremy had got his food and sat down in the nearest chair with a substantial person gap around it.
"Okay, seems good," Jeremy grinned as he walked down the line, smiling as his food was piled on, this was nice, continuing in his routine made him just feel that much better as if the world wasn't caveing in around them and everything was good. Which he guessed was somewhat true.
Once he was done with the line he went over and sat in front of the Boss. His face crinkled as he thought about why he kept calling him that, but then he found it just easier to accept his choices. He just went back to smiling.
Walking Through the Base
If we’re all on peaceful terms, maybe so. There’s an entire world opened to us, there are tons of possibilities. At the same time, going home, forming a support group, and never talk about it sounds appealing too.
I’ve thought about that too. I mean, we got here, whose to say that another group of humans got here and they evolved? Or that a group of humans got out and populated the surface? I have no idea.
Ehhhh... seems rational.
But I don't think I'm going to forget this time. No matter how hard it is.
Walking Through the Base
Coffee sounds great actually. -laughs- We’d be there for too long if we were going to talk about all the cute boys.
Ah, a normal life. Now that would be nice. I don’t think we’ve had one of those since being trapped here.
That gets me thinking. What actually happens the day we get back topside?
Do we come out saying, "hello... we have fundementaly changed another speci-" hey... wait... why are Agarthans so human? That's a mystery.
Flyboy || Open
Matthew knew why he wanted to be around people, he was frightened. Not anxious, frightened. Chronically, not acutely.
He leant against the wall near the cafeteria entrance, staring at his feet, and lost in his own head. He didn’t real feel like much like himself, although his pounding heart reminded him he was very much the same person, even though he longer recognised the shape of his arm and the clothes.
He had refused to carry more than a stunning weapon, and it had taken him a while to build the confidence to use it, but found it was a actually a comfort. He wasn’t sure if he was happy with that.
He looked up and saw Jeremy entering, and smiled at him.
IGNORE MY FUCKING LIFE
-is mildly frightened-
sorry, I reblogged it incorrectly, thinking matthew was alex and so then I panicked. move along... I am correcting the post as we speak.
Walking Through the Base
That’s what friends are for right? -smiles- Surprisingly, I haven’t cracked under the pressure, yet. I’m going to go grey eventually. All the presidents do. -laughs-
Well we can always have a coffee-like thing, or a beer-like thing some time. You know, talk about cute boys.
Act like we have a semblance of a normal life

Jeremy saw the boss standing over and smiled back. He got back in line and started walking over for food which always seemed to help at times. His thoughts turned to the thought that the Boss should be better now that he wasn't forced to deal with the dark job that was the militia. He breathed in and talked.
"Hey Boss," he yelled over, many of the Agarthans merely ignoring him as they all continued shuffling down to get sustanance," what's up?"
He always found himself at times just having conversations with his boyfriends brother at times that just begin like this. He remembered the last one, when it seemed like Matthew had been sucidal, now he looked a lot better. He waited for a response.
Walking Through the Base
I will speak to Tyl, and then perhaps we can send you and some of reconnaissance that way if you’d like.
I’m good. I feel like I don’t get to talk to everyone, on a personal level at times. I’m always here or there, doing this or that.
Well you do have a lot of work, but if I can help you relieve stress then I'll do what I can.
Walking Through the Base
-nods, thinking a bit- It’s still functional though. Or was the last time you saw it? It would be nice to have a modern plane, we can see what we’re up against up close, figure it out a bit more. You know a lot about them though.
Was it fairly secluded where you left it? We would want to scout the area before sending you, or anyone else in. The Militia moves closer all the time.
It was in the forest but then again I feel like a flew for a while. I hope it's not close to the militia and of course it's always safer to scout the area first.
then later I can just go and check it out with an engineer. Now besides military matters, how are you Cadence?
Nothing good. Just trying to manufacture weapons that can be made quickly enough and that will do the…most amount of damage while using very little ammunition. We’re still grossly outnumbered by the Agarthian militia.
Yeah you can say that. I'm surprised they haven't thrown out all the power they did with some of the uprisings.
We're not at a high level of threat are we?
