literally the moment vinder and yaz met and like. fucking looked at each other i realized thasmin isn't gonna happen and like yeah i highly doubted that it was gonna happen but it still hurts

You know what makes me so mad? The fact that for three seasons, I (and many others) have been arguing with people left and right that there is chemistry between Yaz and the Doctor. Yet Vinder looks at Yaz ONE TIME and EVERYONE understands that they might be love interests and starts to ship them…

Now let me be clear, I am not mad at the potential of Vinder and Yasmin Khan, because they might be great together and they are both beautiful people, but I am upset that it takes YEARS for people to understand the subtext of a gay relationship, yet SECONDS to understand a straight relationship. I have seen comment after comment after comment of people stating their disbelief that there is anything romantic between the Doctor and Yaz, and in one night, I have seen countless ships between Yaz and Vinder… Yaz and Vinder exchanged a look and titles - the Doctor and Yaz flew into the TARDIS and onto a (disheveled) bed, in handcuffs, after traveling who knows how long, alone together, throughout time and space!!! 

And you know what makes me mad, is that I am one of those people that saw the romantic chemistry between Yaz and Vinder immediately! I was sitting on the couch with my wife (I am non-binary so our whole relationship is gay) watching the episode and we both audibly gasped at the potential interest. ME! A V GAY TUMBLR PERSON!! Saw the potential straight relationship faster than I saw the gay one…

It makes me so mad that we have been raised in a society that has taught us to see the heterosexual before homosexual. We immediately ship w|m through one interaction yet people will argue forever that the very compatible w|w don’t even have a spark of intimacy.

And one step further, I am mad that my reaction to the Vinder potential relationship was to compete and beat it with the Thasmin one. I wanted Thasmin to ‘win’ to show up all the haters and disbelievers out there, even if it is worse for the character of Yaz (I mean… when has a relationship with the Doctor worked out well?). Vinder might be great for Yaz! I have no idea, but I don’t want it, because if it happens, all my protest and education of the gay subtext will feel lost. People will use the Vinder relationship as a grounding piece of evidence that Yaz was not gay nor that she has had any feelings toward the Doctor, erasing her potential gay (bi?) identity.

Huff… I just want us all to see potential relationships as easily as we see straight relationships. I’m tired of arguing whether Yaz has feeling toward the Doctor while people automatically accept and write about the intense feelings of heterosexual options like Vinder…
