I’m not going to lie - the Easter Bunny is tired this year. After all, we are waking up every few hours for the past few days with a sick baby. Good times all around. Thankfully the Easter Bunny loves to shop and still made this year’s baskets pretty cute. ;)
I love to shop small. Most of the boys’ clothes and a lot of their toys are from small businesses that I have found online through various social media platforms and websites. Even though they cost a little more, I love that I’m supporting a mom - a genuine person who stays home with their kids and is creating a work of art.
Basket #1: Hayley, age 11:
Old Navy leggings, Old Navy shirts and tank top, Target swim cover up, Lily Pulitzer romper, Target toothbrushes, Essential Moving Guided Journal (she’s a little nervous about our upcoming move), and candy! No small businesses here, unfortunately, but she dictates her style at this point in her life, and I just roll with it.
Basket #2: Colin, Age 2.5:
Ice Cream lamp, spinning toothbrush, Little Cosmetics play make up set, Target bunny cup, Target bunny ears, Target bubbles, Mini Eggs, Zuzii red shoes, and Melissa and Doug Basic Skills puzzle.
Basket #2: Graham, Age 5 weeks
Ice Cream lamp, Old Navy denim button down, SewntoSwoon monochrome shorts, and Piper and Finn herringbone shoes.
Instead of baskets this year, gifts were given in these bunny bags. I found them at the Target dollar spot and stuck alphabet stickers on them for fun.
The baskets were loved. Especially the romper, of course.
And Graham enjoyed Colin’s ears:
Instead of a traditional Easter egg hunt, we hid Kinder Surprise eggs instead! In case you don’t know what those are, they are chocolate eggs that open to reveal a capsule with a prize tucked inside. It’s usually in several small pieces and needs to be built. They are apparently banned in the US because the pieces are a choking hazard.
Without me even realizing, Colin snuck in two and had a sugar rush. We even gave them some giant ones that I hadn’t seen before, and they loved them.
Sorry, Graham. Maybe next year.
We followed up the morning with a big family brunch and naps for everyone.
