hi folks i wanted to share my ponysona that my BSBFF* @helloitsmesatin made for me :) (these ones i drawed though, not her)
gander at Burgravine Cherryhop Rosenhuf von Kirschhof!!!!!!
her mane is, like, SUPER long, so she has it up in a bun held by a little bat clip. also, she has vitiligo (woah just like me!!!! it's almost like she's my ponysona or something). her cutie mark represents her creative nature and artisanship :) also cherries!!! her cutie mark isn't actually super visible given the vitiligo and all, but it looked like this when she got it, she swears. i couldn't decide between the button + baby pin, or sewing thread + pin cushion so have both.
* Big Sister Best Friend Forever
LORE DUMP UNDERNEATH!!! (i'm a worldbuilder in my spare time, creating lots of lore is what i do best :)
she's a batpony unicorn who lives with her sister Morning Dew on the edge of Ponyville (they are not related, she just found her out in the street like that video of the guy and the stray cat). she comes from a (semi-)noble family but left home some years ago because her family's isolationism made life dull and difficult; being the only mare unicorn in the family and thus the target of their ire probably didn't help lol.
artist's rendition of las hermanas del leche - drawed by Dew, it hangs on Cherryhop's fridge next to a macaroni art self-portrait (also made by Dew).
since leaving Kirschhof, Cherryhop works as a jack-of-all-trades artisan and gets by selling various trinkets and offering whatever the pony equivalent of IT services are. no foalsitting, though. she kind of hates kids. not in a weird way, kids just make her anxious. too much responsibility for this mare. they love her for her trinkets, though.
random facts about Cherryhop that have absolutely no source whatsoever (i made them up):
sometimes ponies call her Hop. somepony called her Chop once, though.
she is kinda good at buckball; she prefers drawing.
her "father" is an ominous swirling orb that hums and lives in the rafters of her garage. it might not be sentient, but she talks to it like it is. nopony else does, they're all kind of scared of it.
her magic didn't used to look so desaturated, but the vitiligo on her horn kinda affected that. darn.
she has a second roommate: a crystal pony from whom she chisels crystal chunks for rent monthly. this pony lives in the shed in her backyard, and she doesn't actually know her name. i don't know if this is how crystal ponies work, but Hop already spent 27 bits on the hammer and chisel, so i have to leave it like this.
her mother is Margravine Lilacia Summersprout von Kirschhof. she is based on my mom. minus the rudeness. keep the sass though. Hop had to get it from somewhere. the freckles were unfortunately not inherited.
she calls Morning Dew a "driplet-head" when she gets mad.
she makes music sometimes. kinda why her cutie mark is shaped like musical notes. i'm so creative.
she is a big fan of Trixie Lulamoon and tries to attend as many of her shows as she can afford (she usually just sneaks in anyhow). once, Hop got to meet the great and powerful Trixie after one and showed her how to count cards. Trixie, a respectable member of society with no prior record of criminal activity, appreciated learning how to scam casinos of bits.
despite popular belief, Hop is NOT an alicorn. when she first moved to Ponyville, a series of events led to Princess Twilight Sparkle breaking and entering into Hop's cottage to investigate the rumours of the "new alicorn". for unrelated reasons, Hop is no longer a fan of Princess Twilight Sparkle.
in full honestly, i think pretty much all Knight theories except Dess Knight miss the point (especially Rudy and Asriel imo). December being the Knight just narratively makes the most sense and is satisfying for the actual story; it's what has been alluded to and set up for several chapters.
longue more opinion-y poste so putting a thingy here
i notice a lot of folks in theorising spaces (not really just UTDR but many things) gradually fall into this mindset of "what if the right answer is the most left-field thing ever?" i know this is Tricky Tony we're dealing with here, but the guy is telling a coherent story, and he hasn't struck me as something of a Scott Cawthon, changing shit on a whim just because some people got close to guessing the right answer.
non-Dess Knight theories kind of just remove her from the story entirely, stripping her of what little agency she has as an as-of-yet-mostly-unseen character right now. it'd be incredibly disappointing if it turns out she just... isn't part of the story somehow, and is just Plot Device For Character Motivation (which isn't inherently a problem in writing a story, but for how much she is brought up and alluded to, it would be super lame if she wasn't at least partly relevant to Knighthood).
Rudy Knight feels the most egregious to me because it's quite a bit of a character assassination. like, the whole thing with the Holiday family is that they are temporally split - Carol is stuck in the past holding them all back, Rudy yearning but unable to be part of the present, and Noelle stuck somewhere in between. Rudy explicitly says that he wishes he could spend more time with Noelle, because only having her mom around is clearly dragging on her. this is his last living child (as far as ANY of us know tbh), and every moment he could be spending with her is instead wasted lying sick in the hospital. yes, i think he is the type of guy to do anything for his kids, especially now that Noelle is in a weird place in her life, but i WHOLEHEARTEDLY do not believe the guy who says all THIS (see below) would intentionally make himself more sick and disappear to do,, whatever the fuck the Knight does all day. and if being the Knight did make him, like, stronger or something, i really feel like he'd at least try to use it to spend time with his kid?
also, i think some of the apparent disease references during the Knight fight in chapter 3 are... a stretch to say the least. like, to me it seemed pretty clear that they were more references to a panic attack?
Azzy Knight is also really lame to me just because, like, why would he deserve any screentime and plot relevance than Dess would? yes, i think he will show up, yes i think he is ultimately somewhat important to the story. but it would be narratively unsatisfying if Asriel is, like, the tragic mysterious big bad AGAIN. i know Deltarune has echoes of Undertale, and i think the connections are very important, but rehashing the same story beats as the previous game? that'd be a wet fart of a reveal after a decade of waiting. also, i'm not sure unused content and scrapped concepts for what is ultimately a different game are the most solid pieces of evidence.
like, i dunno. i really can't get behind theories that kinda just boil down to "this would be unexpected" as the core premise. Dess is alluded to quite a bit to be the Knight, and it makes sense for the story. i kind of only give credence to the idea that Dess isn't the Knight anymore and has either been changed (the Knight is really fucked up) or been turned into a vessel like Kris, or both. it's more narratively satisfying because it mirrors Kris' loss of autonomy arc, the secret bosses' themes of freedom and individuality (or lack thereof), and would be a foil to Noelle's arc about gaining autonomy and becoming her own person.
a story's plot beats being predictable or cliché does not automatically make them lame. contradicting predictable or cliché plot beats does not automatically make them good. what makes a twist satisfying is that it makes sense when you give it a second look; you should feel fooled, not cheated, because the evidence (ideally, anyway) should be laid out somewhat clearly and it came as a surprise because you missed it (not because it was arbitrarily hidden behind some obscure obfuscatory contrivance [A.K.A. "bullshit"]).
What about the final version of the flag by the original creator?
Gilbert Baker added a 9th stripe shortly before his death, with the new stripe representing diversity. He added this stripe in reaction to the 2016 US election. It’s unfortunately not as well known as the 8 and 6 striped versions.
Here’s an image of him sewing together the 9 striped rainbow flag.
Pathologizing: Hey sorry I yelled at you. I have this ADHD symptom called RSD that makes me really sensitive.
Humanizing: Hey, I’m sorry that I blew up like that earlier. In the moment I felt really attacked and overwhelmed and I reacted badly, but I know you didn’t mean to offend me with what you said, so that behavior is on me.
Because I just saw a post bitching about this one, I want to add: this post is saying that you need to take accountability for the way you hurt other people, even if it happens because of a symptom of your disability/illness. It's also saying that using terms (especially acronyms) that aren't common knowledge isn't a helpful way to explain yourself. It is NOT saying that you need to let people walk all over you because "your disability isn't an excuse."
If you're diabetic, you don't have to eat the honey glazed ham that will send you into a coma (their example). But you also can't yell at the person offering it and accuse them of trying to kill you. You can just say "thanks, but my body can't handle that kind of sugar intake, so I'll pass"
In my opinion it's a lot more healthy to be able to own that you dislike someone for petty reasons than to do all kinds of mental gymnastics to make everyone you don't really vibe with out to be a bad person actually
I know many of you have already liked and reblogged this post, but I'm going to attach a couple of links for resources on how to contact payment processors and whatnot. Hopefully they can get spread around a bit. It includes how to contact the payment processors, scripts, and various links to other (at the time ongoing, these websites haven't been updated in about 8 months and 1 year respectively) petitions and forms that might be useful to you.

I'd also like to ask people to be willing to bring this conversation into spaces where things like "politics" aren't welcome and more forcefully draw attention to the ever growing issue of censorship. Some of you may only have those communities to draw on but we've long since run out of peaceful/polite/non-disruptive options.
