That makes sense. Maybe I can come boxing with you, sometime? I mean, not because I’d be any good at boxing (in fact, I’d probably end up accidentally punching myself somehow) but I miss spending time with you. It makes me sad how busy life can get, sometimes.

So, you guys could’ve found somewhere else to go. What’d you do? 

I suppose if it were up to me I would’ve chosen somewhere else, for sure. But I wasn’t the one who planned it, so I just sort of went along, and it was nice. I had a lot of quiet time to myself, and I went to a few of the social gatherings held throughout the week. Both aspects of the trip were fun, and I really loved it there. I am happy to be heading back home, though.

I’d have to say just being out in nature. Being away from home for a whole week, I mean. It was just really nice. I needed a bit of a change, a new start. I can’t explain it.

Luckily I decided to suck it up and do it for the world can hear him. I’m sure you’ll get to hear him sing more when the musical comes around. He’s destined for a lead.

He’d better get a lead! I think I’ll boycott the drama club if he doesn’t. (...okay, that might be an exaggeration, but I’ll definitely have some choice words for the director.) Will you be trying out for the show, too? I think you’d be great together. Your chemistry is already incredible, seeing as you’re already best friends.

HUNTER

Partially at Hunter’s fault it’d been far too long since he’d seen his friend, and thankfully that would be changing tonight. He appreciated the less risk-centric man - someone he could spend a quiet night with instead of spending it drinking the night away with Sebastian or throwing it away on some new reckless endeavor with Jonathan. A movie night was something he’d needed for some time - especially being the introverted man he truly was.

The ring on his doorbell pulled him away from his television, attention brought over to the door as he dropped the remote and sauntered over to answer it. Pulling it open he was immediately met with James, the donuts in the man’s hands a pleasant addition to his presence. “Seems I don’t need to provide the snacks,” Hunter mused, gesturing the other to come in and place the box on the table in front of the couch. Thankfully his parents were out for the night, so he wouldn’t need to worry about the television being too loud or staying up too late for their liking.

JAMES

James couldn’t help but smile at Hunter’s quip, already feeling comfortable. At the same time, though, his skin buzzed with excitement. James had been feeling different around Hunter, lately, and he wasn’t sure why. Maybe it was because they’d been spending so much time together, getting to know each other... he couldn’t put his finger on it. He decided to push those thoughts away, knowing it was most likely just the excitement of him getting out of the house for once. He set the donuts down on the coffee table. 

“Told you I got that covered,” James said with a smile, scratching his arm as he felt his heartbeat quicken. “I haven’t brought any films with me, though. I was hoping maybe you had something interesting, since my library mostly consists of animated Disney features and old Hollywood classics.” He let out a laugh as he nervously looked around the room. He tugged at his long sleeves as he thought to himself about how he probably should’ve brought a movie - or at least asked what Hunter was interested in watching. He knew he shouldn’t overthink, but his mind was on autopilot. “And I’m sorry I didn’t even ask what movies you were interested in watching, I just - I didn’t - I suppose I wasn’t thinking,” James said, shaking his head to himself. “I’m sorry. All I have are donuts.”

The two aren’t really comparable… that was the joke, darling. You’re cute for not disagreeing, though, I appreciate your unwillingness to admit it, but I’m not going to fight you over the pain of toes hitting doors and being heartbroken, promise. Still… cute.

Good advice is yet another one of my great talents, and it seems to have been a positive for you, since I’ve seen you around. Are you having a good time? Making old man memories? I’m having fun, but I’m still hoping next years trip is in a nice hotel, maybe with hot tubs, I’m not too picky. And, hey, maybe if I yell about Disney World to everyone enough, my dreams to go will finally come true.

...right. I suppose I should be glad you seem to think it’s so “cute,” although I personally think that was a tad ridiculous of me. 

I had a really great time, actually. It was definitely a new experience that I’m glad I took on. I’m sad it’s over so soon, but we all have to get back to real life eventually, right? Oh my goodness, if we all went to Disney it would be the best spring break ever. I’ll definitely help you advocate for that.

I only read when it’s about people making a fool of themselves. I love those stories. How do you even have time to read? I’m so hype for summer vacay. I’m gonna just sleep in every single day and that’s about it. A fulfilled life if you ask me.

I mean, this book is about people falling in love, so... I suppose it could be considered a type of making a fool of themselves? They definitely put everything on the line. I made time to read, honestly. I love it, so I wanted to spend a lot of my time off doing it. What have you been up to this week? I agree, that does sound like a fulfilled life.

My favorite thing has been to chill by the lake with my guitar. The view and serenity help the writing process. I’m having fun too — like you said, more than I thought I would. 

Karaoke is my shit. 

That sounds so wonderful. It’s so peaceful to do that here - I’ve been writing a lot this week, too. It’s so inspiring being surrounded by nature. Definitely a good change from home. Though I can’t believe it’s already over.

I like more alternative bands like Panic! at the Disco or Walk the Moon - indie stuff is great too, and I can definitely get behind oldies. I’m kind of an all-music type of man, I suppose. I’ll listen to anything (except country). As for songs I sing in the shower, Uptown Funk is my one and only.
