"... ... ..."
Wandering through the facility, Koujaku wasn’t exactly expecting to find anything in particular… Lost in thought, his destination seemed unclear for some time. The confusion that came with this place.. The state that Aoba was in. The seriousness of all this was enough to put a certain weight on his heart.
At some point in his wandering, he’d stopped to actually think about where he was deciding to go. Should he find Aoba again…? Raising a hand to run through the strands of his hair that were carefully placed to hide the ink that stained his features. Upon hearing the approach of another, he’d quickly make sure no trace of the tattoo could be seen before he’d been just about to start off on his own again..
That was until he caught sight of the strange person. The person who was all too familiar.
The white coat.. Yellow scarf… That unruly hair.
“You—”
Without hesitating, Koujaku quickly approached this person. After taking a rough hold onto the other’s coat, he pulled. Hard. If only to stop the other in his tracks first before he spoke again.
“Gas mask… You’re here too, huh?”
vocibus
"Ah— Careful now."
He wasn’t sure of this boy’s intentions.. But he’d noticed at the last moment that he’d been approached… Koujaku had removed his sword from his back for a moment if only to adjust his attire and it as he picked it up again that he’d noticed Aichi approach from his blind spot. From what it looked like, he was reaching for the sheath now strapped to his back again or…
Perhaps he’d just been trying to get his attention.
Nevertheless, it was more of a surprise than anything.. The hair that covered his eye did affect his vision, after all. It wasn’t as though he could see through it so easily.. And he didn’t even hear the boy either.
Once he’d adjusted his weapon more comfortably, Koujaku turned to face Aichi with a huff.
"It’s not a toy… Nn.. Unless you wanted something?"

"Hey. You there.. Boy."
First, he caught the other’s attention before he made his way over. It was shameful, really.. To think that he’d gotten lost so soon. Honestly, it wasn’t that big of a surprise.. He didn’t know the area well enough but perhaps the younger would be so kind…
"I’m looking for he kitchen… Would you mind pointing me in the right direction?"
There was a flutter from small wings and a red sparrow, peeked from the man’s shoulder before it hopped out a little more to get a better look at the boy that stood before them.
『 Aaaahhh? Koujaku! You really think this pipsqueak can help us? Yeah right! 』
Turning it’s beak up, Beni huffed a bit.. His feathers ruffled a touch before Koujaku placed a hand over his allmate.
"Don’t mind him." The allmate was already having a fit but Koujaku seemed to ignore him for the moment to continue speaking with Goku. "Nevertheless, if it’s no trouble.. I wouldn’t being shown the way personally."

Koujaku was drawn to her.. It was exactly as the voice told him, he felt as though he was being pulled to her. If he didn’t know any better, he would have compared this to the red string of fate. As a joke, of course. It was almost funny to think that a man like himself could fully believe in such a fate… Well. Perhaps somewhere in his heart he did…
Just not in this situation. It was false..
Once more his skin was marked by something distasteful… Hidden beneath his clothing. The bandages on his arms were more than enough but it wasn’t as though the other would need to see the mark to understand they were connected in this strange way.
"So there you are."
He found them.. Sooner than he initially thought. A woman, it seemed… A chuckle emitted from him. ”It’s bad luck that you’re to share a mark with me.. But I, in turn, might just consider myself extremely lucky.” However lighthearted, it seemed he couldn’t help but flirt.
"My name is Koujaku. It’s nice to officially meet you."

"Ugh!"
To me, you were the hero who was always there to save me.
Hero?
Yeah.
His head ached.
His weaker half— his voice of reason— fought and fought. He begged and pleaded to be set free, if only for a mere moment. He kept protesting and fighting to be at the front once more. Eventually, the desire for destruction faded, leaving the agonized; neglected shell of the true Aoba to face his innermost thoughts; his guilt.

The tears didn’t dare stop from meandering down his cheeks. Colorless hands couldn’t wipe away the droplets of salt water fast enough. His white and red robes became dotted and eventually soaked with an ocean of guilt.
He sobbed.
He sobbed.
He sobbed.

「いいよ。」
Despite the white hair.. Clothes... And that red.
It was him. It had to be...
"... ... Aoba."
This was the last he expected of this place. It was a nightmare from the beginning but this.. This was far too cruel. To be standing before someone he cared so deeply for while they were in this state... What's worse, Koujaku couldn't find it in himself to move at first.
What could have possibly happened?
The man could practically feel his heart sink a little more with each tear that fell.. This was a sight he couldn't bear for so long.. Not only was he concerned but he was also angry.. Who? He could only think that someone had done this to Aoba. There was no other possibility there. Not in his mind. As soon as his body allowed him and the shock passed, Koujaku didn't hesitate to make his way to the other's side.
"Oi.. Aoba..."
For a moment, he wasn't sure what to do. Soon enough, he'd decided on first taking one of the other's hands into his own.. Examining Aoba's hand then, his brows furrowed as he'd looked to meet the other's eyes. Raising his free hand, he'd almost touched the other's hair then... But his prior habits and knowing Aoba didn't like it kept him from doing so and instead he'd brushed the back of his hand against Aoba's cheek to wipe away some of the tears.
"... What happened to you? Aoba, are you alright?"
