The term “steeks” may be a mystery to you or just a thing to fear, but it needn’t be either… Truly!
A free knitting tutorial for this really interesting technique / stitch via Purl Soho.
Finally got all the busy work done and broke out the tiny bird scissors. And, you know what?
STEEKING. IS. MAGIC.
I feel like the most badass knitter ALIVE.
Done! Quick picture to brag before I do the final finishing work, and I am so proud! Steeking for the win.
Finished the crochet reinforcement. Now to the very last step before jumping off the cliff because I am deliberately avoiding the scissors: weaving in what is probably the most insane density of ends I will ever encounter.
I have completed the first, non-scary half of my very first adventure with steeks. Now, the reinforcement as a halftime palette cleanser before we get into the terrifying second half...taking a pair of scissors to my knitting. On purpose. Cutting into knitting. I am having palpitations just thinking about it.
