Okay LOVED sweet life btw!!! I am dying for Angela and Reader with a baby or a chaotic toddler!! I feel like that would be so cute. Oneshot, smau, whatever youâre feeling lovely but of course feel free to ignore!!
Someone Like You
synopsis: You and Angela offered to look over Amandaâs son while her and her husband can have a night out. You thought this would be a walk in the park but it was quite the opposite.
It had been less than an hour. Less than an hour and Angela has her hair up and is running around looking for things to entertain Cole with. You would try and help but youâre too busy making formula for him to calm him down. For the most part, Angela is good with kids. At least with young kids but not with babies.
âY/n whereâs that thing you have?â Angela yells from the other room practically panting as if she ran a marathon.
âWhat thing, Angela?â Your voice is firm and itâs hard not to get frustrated when Cole is screaming crying, the TV is playing a loud baby show, and youâre tying to read the instructions on the specific instructions for Coleâs formula.
âLike that thing! The thing you always have!â Angela steps over the bags Amanda had left that were not put away and were just lying on the floor.
âAngela, baby, I canât right now. Let me make this bottle and Iâll help after,â You begin shaking the bottle in your hand, rereading the instructions, replaying yourself perform every step making sure that itâs perfect.
âFuck-okay,â Angela responds and picks up Cole from the couch.
âHey buddy! You like the TV?â Angela tries to shift his attention from crying to literally anything else.
âHere give him the bottle,â You walk over to them in the living room. Angela looks at you as if you were an angel stepping down to save the day. She takes the bottle from you and gives it to Cole as she holds him on one arm. He begins drinking and his cries quiet down, eyes also drooping down.
You sigh and let your body fall onto the couch.
âYou still want kids?â
âYeah,â Angela turns to you with the sweetest smile as if she wasnât running around and stressing out just seconds ago.
âŠ
Cole had been sleeping for almost an hour while you and Angela were cleaning up the apartment and looking through the bags Amanda had left you all with.
âOh my god, she left us books,â Angela whispers to you from across the table. You guys really didnât have to whisper but you werenât taking any chances of waking the baby up.
âDo you think he likes them?â
Angela gives you a blank stare and looks back at Cole who was sleeping peacefully on your guysâ bed. âAbsolutely not,â She laughs. âThere is not one thing going on in his little mind,â
âSo are you changing the diaper or what,â
Angela gasps as if she forgot that changing diapers was part of the process when taking care of a baby.
âuhh,â She trails off.
You roll your eyes and shove her lightly.
âDonât worry about that right now! Thereâs no crying, letâs take advantage of that!â She diverges the subject and makes her way to the couch.
Her little action of lying in the couch convinced you to follow right after her. You lie on top of her with your head in between her neck and shoulder as she plays with your hair.
âHow much longer until Amanda picks him up?â You raise your head to look at her.
âI donât know,â Angela smiles as she brings her face closer to yours, bringing you into a kiss. The kiss lingers, she kisses you passionately, occasionally tilting her head to come closer. But as soon as you feel her smile against your lips, you know exactly what sheâs doing.
âIâm not changing his diaper, Angela,â She groans and drops her head onto the pillows.
âWas that really supposed to convince me?â You laugh and return your head in between her neck and shoulder.
âMaybe,â
âYou have to try a lot harder than that,â
Angelaâs hands slowly creep down to your waist, finding the hem of your shirt and resting her thumbs underneath your shirt.
âThatâs not an invitation,â You stop her.
She groans louder but stops herself immediately after remembering Cole was sleeping in the other room. You can hear Cole make a slight noise but nothing that indicates that he woke up.
You slap Angelaâs side as a warning to keep quiet.
âŠ
You donât remember when you fell asleep, whether it was when you were asking Angela what she was asking you for earlier or when she was reading a message from Amanda. But you do remember the panic that set in your body the second you heard Cole crying. With that, you jumped off of Angela and ran into your guysâs bedroom to pick him up.
âHey hey hey hey, itâs okay,â You pick him up and have him rest against your shoulder as you shush him.
You can hear Angela getting off of the couch and making her way over to you two. You spin slightly side to side to try and calm Cole down. Angela kisses your temple then smiles at Cole.
âHi,â Angela says in a high pitched tone to him.
âLook heâs smiling at me!â Angela points at him as you try to look at him over your shoulder.
âYeah maybe youâre not that bad,â You smile at her.
âTold you,â
âŠ
âCole what do you eat?â Angela sets him down on the kitchen counter.
âYou donât expect him to seriously answer you, right,â You reply as you open one of the bags Amanda had left you both with in hopes to find a snack for him.
âNo,â she turns to you before turning back to Cole. âDonât mind her. But seriously what do you actually eat all day?â She whispers to him.
âOh here!â You pull out some teething crackers.
âOh these are the best!â Angela takes one for herself before you can hand one to Cole.
âAngela!â
âŠ
The final hours of taking care of Cole had come down to you guys sitting on the couch trying to do anything to get him to stop crying.
âCole look at the TV!â You point to the TV hoping that the show from earlier would capture his attention now. And it did, for a few seconds before he swings his arms around, occasionally hitting Angela in the process.
âCome here,â She takes Cole from your arms but stops frantically.
âWait my hair-â Cole had taken ahold of your hair which prevented him from leaving your vicinity.
âLet go Cole,â Angela tries speaking to him sweetly and she holds his hand that is holding your hair.
You grunt in pain not being able to move and just then is when you get a facetime call from Amanda.
âNo, Cole we donât pull on peoples hair!â
âShit my phone-â You manage to pick up the phone that was thankfully close to you.
âHi Amanda!â You smile through the pain, your head tilted to not cause as much force against Cole pulling on your hair.
âNothing weâre great, he just misses mom,â You smile.
âGirl this is definitely your kid!â Angela peeks into frame, still trying to get Coleâs grip off of your hair.
âWhat?â Amanda laughs. âIâm on my way, sorry we took long,â
âLook Cole! Mama is coming to pick you up!â Angela points at your phone.
He turns to look at the phone and lets go of your hair and reaches for your phone instead. You willingly give him your phone for your hair in return.
You can hear Amanda greet Cole as you start to tie your hair up just in case he gets ahold of you again.
âŠ
âThank you guys so much for watching over him,â Amanda stands at the door, ready to leave with all her bags and of course Cole.
âYeah anytime!â You say out of breath.
Angela and Amanda share a couple words before she leaves and you guys are left with the mess that is your apartment.
âHoly shit,â you lean against the door, tilting your head to look over at Angela whoâs staring at you with a suspicious smile. She holds your sides as she approaches closer to you.
âWhatever your thinking. No,â
âYou donât even know what I was gonna say!â Angela gasps, offended.
âToo tired, come sleep,â You drag her by her hand and lead her to your guysâ bed.
a/n: SORRRY i didnât mean to disappear uhh the burns were actually worse than i expected and i had finals and i was super burnt out but im back like im abt to write 5 chapters today
âHey y/n!â
This was probably the last thing you wanted to hear today after a long day at work hearing nothing but complaints, all you wanted and expected was peace and the opportunity to be in your own world when you stepped into this cafe. Who even walks up to people in cafes anyway?
âOh hey, Spencer,â You were definitely not expecting Spencer of all people being here.
âYou just get off work?â
âYeah, I missed my bus so I decided to stop by here while I wait for the next bus,â
He laughs, interrupting the cozy atmosphere that had been established long before.
âItâs not funny!â you protest half convinced of your own words. If this were to happen to Spencer you would 100% be laughing right now but since you are the victim in this situation, nothing is funny.
âIâm sorry!â He puts his hands up as if heâs surrendering though, heâs still laughing so his sorry isnât meaningful at all.
âŠ
Itâs been about 20 minutes spent of you and Spencer talking back and forth, sharing experiences of terrible jobs you two have had. You guys got to the point where the conversation starts winding down and thereâs not much to talk about anymore. But being in this conversation with Spencer is somewhat like your only chance to escape your reality and worries. You fear if you guys stop talking, the day ends and youâre back to the cycle of working, worrying, working, worrying, and so on.
âAngela told me you guys played one of the games you bought the other day,â You scavenge anything to talk to him about.
âYou have Angelaâs number?â He takes a beat and his head springs back in genuine confusion.
âYeah?â
âOh, sick,â He mutters to himself.
âHuh?â
âYeah Angela got really into the game. She kept saying âI love this game!â so Iâd say you did a good job,â Spencer laughs as he looks down at his phone to check the time.
âYeah well itâs my job after all,â You roll your eyes.
âHey how about I drive you home? Itâs late and dark out,â
You hadnât even realized how late itâs gotten, granted itâs not super late where thereâs no one outside on the streets but itâs late enough to the point where you were worried about falling asleep on the bus.
âWould you? Thank you Spence,â
âŠ
Pulling up to your driveway looks like heaven at just the thought about taking a warm bath and being able to lay in your bed.
âThanks a million Spencer!â You say getting out of the passenger seat.
âYeah no problem, have a good night,â He says as he drives away.
Walking up to your room you canât help but think about what Angela kept saying during their recording: âI love this gameâ You canât help but laugh to yourself at her excitement. Just imagining how genuine her gratitude was once she texted you makes you feel warm despite the cold wind outside. You feel yourself wanting to text Angela. About what? You donât know. Thereâs nothing much you can really tell her especially not about what Spencer told you. It would be extremely creepy if you knew what she was saying while filming especially after she already told you what she thought about the game.
You groan, falling onto your couch in frustration over what to do. Itâs pathetic how much youâre thinking about her after a couple interactions. But can you really blame yourself?
a/n: woah a jjburgers update abt freaking time am i right
Listening to the ceiling lights buzz for the past couple hours has slowly been making you feel crazy and the only escape was hearing someone talk, whether that being the assistant manager or a customer. Though the assistant manager had became less stuck up after you talked to her, it seems that as the time passes sheâs slowly becoming too confident, occasionally giving you snarky remarks that would be totally okay if you two were friends. So not only have you been going insane from the buzzing but also have slowly started regretting apologizing to her in the first place.
âY/n! Draw people to the store!â You can hear her call from across the store in a mocking tone.
âNo one is coming into a board game store thatâs going out of business and only has a couple games left on a shelf,â
âCâmon Y/n,â She walks up to you. You have your head rested on your hands as your shoulders support your weight over the counter. She makes her way to you and you can see she has small cards in her hands, already knowing your faith.
âNo,â
âYou donât even know what Iâm going to say,â She says somehow amused by your suffering.
âIâm not handing out cards outside,â You stare at her and in response she only smiles.
âŠ
Being outside is a nice change of scenery but was incredibly humiliating to be ignored by random strangers passing by. You fidget with the cards you were handed, reading them a couple times and shuffling them between each other. âEverything Must Go!â You laugh knowing this is definitely a last resort to speed up the process of this store closing down though, it was obviously not working. You were handed at least 70 cards and had only handed out less than 5 in the last hour. Thinking about it now, those cards you did hand out are definitely lying somewhere in a trash can.
Suddenly, your phone rings from your pocket. You pray itâs a notification that would somehow get yourself out of this situation.
Angela Smosh:
âHey we just played one of the games you sold us, it was so fun! Thank you for the recommendation!â
You put the cards in your pocket to respond to her message. You feel an immediate rush of adrenaline pumping through your blood not only because you werenât expecting her to reach out but also because you may have a slight sliver of a crush on her. You debate on whether you should wait a couple minutes before responding but out of excitement, you open the message anyway despite your thinking.
âYeah any time! How did it go while filming?â
For the next couple of minutes you guys texted back and forth, occasionally laughing at Angelaâs silly messages about how everyone got really into the game and it was a very intense filming session. Each message that was sent between you two was immediately responded to, Angela clearly on her break and youâŠslacking off to say the least. You continue to text her as you see potential customers walk past the store, not that they showed any interest in the store.
Angela Smosh:
âLOL okay my break is over, Iâll text you some other time soonâ
âGood luck on filming!â
Angela Smosh:
âThank you! Good luck with work!â
Angela checking in with you is a really sweet gesture especially since you were the one to give her some games to show Spencer. You look back and scroll to reread the conversation you two just had trying to relive the giddiness of when you initially received the message.
Once looking up from your phone, by looking at the sky, it was almost time to close up. Handing back the cards you were given to the assistant manager, youâre met with an unamused face.
âWhat?â Your monotone voice fills the silence, already annoyed with whatever she has to say to you.
âDid you even hand these out?â
âI did, only like 5 people actually paid me any mind and took one,â You shrug as you head over to grab your bag.
âSee you tomorrow,â She groans
âŠ
You start walking to the bus stop, hoping to finally escape your reality of this dead end job. Just as you turned the corner you can make out the last bus leaving the stop. You debate running to catch up and hopefully be let in but also debate crumbling down to the floor and begin crying. Despite your feelings, you just sigh incredibly loud enough for people walking by to glance back at you. You begin walking in the direction of your home and stumble upon a cafe, looking at the delicious pastries inside and how satisfied people look as they enjoy their meal, you come to the conclusion that you deserve to have a bite.
Now sitting down, every bite and sip helps you forget about missing your bus. You were in your own world enjoying your meal, thinking about your plans for the weekend, the weekend after, upcoming hangouts, until youâre interrupted.
a/n: sorry this chapter took so long to be posted iâve been #out and about and have been running on like 2 hours of sleep every day for the past few days.
It had been a week since Spencer had stopped by to buy Uno and even though youâre expecting him later today, youâre scared he wonât buy anything as most of the store is empty. Thereâs only a couple games left and nothing really seems entertaining enough to be on Smosh. Itâs sad to think that this month could be the last time youâll see Spencer. Youâve only hung out with him once because heâs always so busy and you donât know when the next time youâll see him again.
Your job used to consist of stocking, cleaning, and working the register, but now all you really do is pack up decorations, move boxes around, and work the register every once in a blue moon. Since the assistant manager wasnât in today and no one had came into the store, you decide to wear your headphones and blast music while you clean the last bits of the store. Your back has definitely taken a toll on you and the pain will probably remain for the next couple of days.
Clean.
Box items.
Move them to the back room.
Clean.
Box items.
Move them to the back room.
Clean.
Box items.
Move them to the back room.
Clean.
Box-
âWorking hard?â
A muffled voice caught you off guard followed by the tap on your shoulder.
âJesus christ, Spencer,â You slap the side of his arm. You were very much in your own world while your were cleaning up, so much so, that you forgot about your surroundings. You take off your headphones to listen to him.
âI brought a new set of eyes,â He moves to the side to reveal the same short-haired woman that came into the store a couple days ago.
âHey nice to meet you,â You shake her hand and she repeats after you, âYou were the one that came in the other day, right? You tilt your head and pretend to be confused and as if you didnt remember her. But how could you forget her in the slightest.
You canât.
You never did.
âYeah! Small world, right?â She laughs softly, and drops her arms behind her. âAngela,â She shakes her head as if she messed up on something, âBy the way,â She finishes her sentence.
âY/n,â You nod, âHow do you know Spencer?â
âWe work together!â
âOh fun!â Even though you smile, you feel like an idiot. You probably shouldâve assumed that.
âI thought Angela would have a good eye for games since she doesnât know too many,â Spencer interrupts the awkward silence.
âYeah well letâs see what you guys buy, we only have a few left,â You all make your way to the back wall.
âWe have a couple different versions of-â
âSpencer look!â Angela cuts you off. âSorry!â
You laugh at Angelaâs excitement followed by her apology. Itâs sweet seeing someone so excited over a collection of board games that usually bring you so much stress. After laughing, shaking your head at her, she quietly laughs at herself.
âOkay, Angela pick a good game,â Spencer nudges Angelaâs arm. âIf the game isnât good then itâs your fault,â He jokes.
âWow no pressure at all,â You mutter as you try to help Angela look for a game.
âCanât believe heâs making me do this,â She sighs.
Though having a different perspective was a good idea, based off how Angela got excited over a Disney Dixit, you donât really know if she was the best option for said new perspective. Just by the look of Spencerâs face you knew you guys were thinking the same thing. Usually youâd never put this much effort into helping a customer find a board game but you couldnât help it when it came to Angela.
âThereâs some more over here,â You motion across the store.
Walking over to the other shelf you canât help but feel the vibe change. Everything was fun while Spencer was with you two but now, everything was awkward.
âSo,â Angela starts. âWhat are your plans after this place closes down?â
You laugh at how up front and curious she is but before you get the chance to answer, Angela interrupts you.
âSorry! I didnât mean it like that,â
âNo donât worry! I actually have no idea,â You crouch down to inspect the games, taking some into your hands. Itâs true. Thereâs genuinely nothing in your mind when it comes to another job.
âI mean I got a letter of recommendation but,â You turn to look up at her as she looks down at you with her big eyes. âI donât really know what good that will do me,â You laugh to ease the tension between you two.
âI heard the coffee shop down the street was hiring,â Angela points out.
âMaybe,â You shrug.
âOkay here,â You show Angela 5 palm sized card games. âShow these to Spencer and weâll tell him you picked them out,â You smile at her as you place the games in her hand, your hands touching in the process.
âI feel bad I didnât help,â She frowns as she sets her hand on top of yours for a moment too long. âIâm really bad at this, I donât even know why Spencer brought me,â She shakes her head while pushing the card back to you and you canât tell if sheâs truthfully sorry or just being dramatic.
âNo donât worry about it!â You push back.
Walking back to Spencer you were ready to hear his suspicions over the games Angela had in her hands but as she hands them to him to inspect, he nods in approval.
âYeah I think these could work,â Spencer shuffles through the games and as soon as he approved, you see Angelaâs tense shoulders loosen up and hear her breathe out in relief. âNice Angelaâ he walks past you two to the register.
You smile at Angela as she mouths a âthank youâ before smiling back and following after Spencer. You watch her walk over to the register as she whispers something to Spencer and you are able to view her from a different perspective. Instead of seeing her straight on as an employee, seeing her from afar allows you to take in her figure. You smile to yourself realizing how short Angela and Spencer look together.
âOkay in total that will be $47.09 but after the discount that will be $19.56 and Iâll add my employee discount so that will bring you down to $15.32,â
âWoah thank you,â Angela looks up from the tablet flashing the price to thank you.
âWhy is this my first time receiving your employee discount?â Spencer deadpans to you.
âWell I-â You make eye contact with Angela. Angela clearly recalls how you had given her your employee discount, understanding that this is not a common occurrence. âYou know, just because the store is closing down,â You stutter and try to make up an excuse.
Spencer stares at you, a smile slowly creeping onto his face. You clear your throat and hold out the receipt, trying to ease the awkwardness that arguably Spencer caused and is upholding.
âThanks, Y/nâ Angela smiles and takes the receipt from your hands, diverging your eyes from Spencer to her own.
Spencer clearly understands your awkward nature and the message that you are sending. âYou donât mind if I use the bathroom right? I know itâs employees only but, you know, the store is closing down,â He says as he confidently hands the bag of games to Angela and confidently walks over to the bathroom as if the store is his own home.
âAsshole,â His nerve and confidence makes you laugh. A beat of silence passes as you sigh and move a couple of trinkets that are on the counter, trying to look busy.
âHeâs unbelievable,â Angela laughs and runs her hand through her hair, letting you take a peek at her cute gold earrings. âHow long have you known Spencer?â
âA couple of years now, 6 years?â You question yourself. Your days have looked so similar that the past couple of years have been a blur and frankly, youâve lost your concept of time the longer you work at this dead end store.
âHas he always been this annoying?â
âAs long as Iâve known him,â You admit which gets a laugh from Angela.
After another moment of silence you internally beg for Spencer to leave the bathroom and save you from the embarrassing situation you two have unintentionally created.
âDo you think I could get your number? In case we canât figure out these games and need some help before we play it on the channel,â Angela runs her hand through her hair lifts her other hand to bring your attention to the bag she was holding.
âYeah of course!â You smile as she pulls out her phone to hand it to you. Itâs funny hearing Angelaâs excuse to needing your number because each and every game in the world always has instructions already included. Smosh has a big department that could easily find and explain instructions and rules to all games if they confused any cast member. So itâs really silly that Angela would want you to explain the games they bought.
After putting in your number into her phone and hand it back, Spencer walks out and takes the bag from Angela to carry it. Spencer thanks you and you all say your goodbyes, you nod to him and wave to Angela as you watch them leave the store.
âŠ
Later that night as you lay in bed, ready to sleep, your phone lights up.
Angela Smosh:
âThank you for the discount once again! Iâll make sure to be back before the store officially closes down!â
You smile at her message knowing youâll see her again.
a/n: as im writing this i am starving and im craving popcorn chicken
It had been a couple days since Spencer dropped by the shop and at this time youâre usually restocking the games but the shelves are steadily becoming empty. Instead of restocking, now youâre removing the discount signs off of the shelves that have gone empty.
Today hasnât been too slow however, though that means thereâs been 6 customers. Guess the âGoing out of business!â signs actually drew people in. But because of all of the customers, you havenât been able to eat your lunch. You decided to splurge and got some food from the place across the street but itâs been sitting under the counter for almost 2 hours. The food is probably all mushy and cold. You lose your appetite just thinking about it.
As you ring up the last customer and wave them goodbye, you can finally have your lunch and itâs just like how you expected it to be, cold and soggy. Taking a bite feels like both the best and worst thing thatâs happened as of today. But as soon as you take a second bite, the assistant manager walks in.
âGod what now?â You groan, mouth still full of food.
âJust came in to say that the shop closes down at the end of this month,â She ignores your rude comment as she looks at the clipboard then back up at the wall of products behind you.
âI feel like this couldâve been an email,â You continue chewing.
âBut!â She sets her clipboard down and sighs, âSince youâve been working here for a couple years, I wanted to give you a letter of recommendation,â
âWait, really?â Though a recommendation letter from an assistant manger of a board game store wonât necessarily get you up to the higher end of the job market, itâs a nice gesture considering how many fights, disagreements, and heated arguments over how to stock shelves. You recall how long you argued over some dumb decorations for the outside of the store.
âY/n you canât put a snowman outside yet! Itâs still November!â
âThanksgiving is over!â You point outside as if you could tell Thanksgiving is over by looking outside.
âI donât care! You can put the snowman out in December!â
Now knowing that youâll never see the assistant manager ever again, you kinda feel bad for all the snarky comments youâve said about her once sheâs out of sight.
âYes really, despite you being incredibly rude at times,â She looks at her new manicured nails, doing anything to avoid eye contact. âI feel as though you deserve a letter from a credible source for your next job,â
âWow,â You look up at her, âThank you, I really appreciate it,â The usual tension lessened and became easier to bear.
âYeah so,â She slides an envelope towards you. âHere. Iâll also have it emailed to you by tonight,â
âThank you so muchâhey Iâm sorry for the difficult time Iâve given you since I started here,â You rest your head on your palm, covering your forehead and eyes. âLike all the argumentsâI feel really bad for all the shit Iâve said to you and truthfully, I think youâre really,â You pause and shake your head before looking back up at her, almost as if you were trying to find something to say. âYouâre really organized and composed and I think IâmâŠyou know, maybe jealous of that,â
âWell thank you for that,â She smiles at you gently, something youâve never seen before, then she clicks her clipboard on the counter before walking away. âYou canât eat while youâre working,â She winks and walks into the back room.
âOkay forget every nice thing Iâve told you!â You raise your arms in the air, one hand holding your fork and the other holding your letter of recommendation.
âWell what can job I even get with a letter from the assistant manager?â You mutter to yourself.
âHey excuse me?â an unfamiliar voice interrupts your thinking.
âHi yes!â Embarrassed, you hide your food under the counter and slip the envelope into your back pocket.
âSorry to interrupt your little moment,â She laughs as you take a look at her, still embarrassed. Sheâs the same height as you, short brown hair thatâs been moved to the side as if sheâs been running her hands through her hair, brown eyes that close when she flashes her infectious smile.
Sheâs so pretty.
âWhat? No! Sorry I didnât hear you come in,â You clear your throat, itâs not common you get incredibly attractive people to walk through the door. Usually the store is filled with either old people, parents with their children, or Spencer. âWere you looking for something in particular?â
âNo Iâve just never seen this place before and I wanted to check it out,â She stares, her fingers fidgeting with her keys in her hand.
âOh? Yeah go ahead,â Youâre confused as to why she even came up to you to announce that she was just looking around and didnât have any questions for you.
As she walks towards the back wall you can hear her mutter to herself, probably noticing the awkward tension she created. Feeling bad for her, you turn the music up in the store.
You can see the sun start to set outside, this reminds you to finish your food. Taking the last bite, the short haired woman walks up to the counter.
âJust this for today?â
âYeah, this place is really neat,â She looks around.
âYeah itâs pretty cozy in here,â You scan the plain deck of cards. âBlackjack?â
âYeah my friends and I are getting together later this week,â She sounds unsure of what sheâs saying as if she had just found this information out right now.
âNice,â You nod. âOkay $5 but Iâll go ahead and give you my discount so that totals to $2.50,â You smile at her as if your discount will make her fall in love with you.
âOh wow, thanks!â She widens her eyes and smiles wide as if this is the nicest thing a person could do.
âYup of course!â You hand her the deck of cards and her receipt. âHave a nice day!â
âYou too!â She walks out the store hesitantly as if she didnât know whether to linger or leave.
You sigh knowing you just lost the chance of getting this pretty womanâs number. Probably the only attractive woman that has ever came into the store since youâve started working. You return to laying your head on the counter disappointed to see this woman leave without getting her number or even asking for her name.
âNo flirting on the job!â A bang startles you and causes for you to stand up rapidly from your position. Only to reveal the assistant manager in front of you smiling as if sheâs been standing there watching and listening to your inner thoughts.
âJesus christ!â You turn your body away from her to stare that the wall. âI canât wait till this place closes down and youâll leave me alone!â You roll your eyes and sit back down.
âSo your jealousy of my organization will stop?â she laughs.
TW: Mild homophobia, literally the most delicate sprinkle of angst youâve ever seen in your life
You understand, don't ask for much, you don't demand
You know, I never planned on memorizing you
You're a soft summer rain, the left side to my right brain
I don't know how, but you always seem to know the perfect thing to say
In theory, you knew that everyone had a soulmate. But the little golden string that popped up in romance movies time and time again never quite seemed to show up. Your mom assured you that it would, that someday a man would come and sweep you off your feet. Even after you told her that you liked girls, she insisted that it would be a man. She wasnât outwardly homophobic, but she was hell-bent on the fact that her daughter would marry a guy and give her beautiful grandchildren to spoil. Between those two things (and being a lesbian in rural Wisconsin with dreams bigger than watching sunsets over Lake Michigan for the rest of your life), thatâs when you decided you had to go. Where? Anywhere but here. And thatâs when you got a scholarship to go to UCLA for art history.Â
Was it crazy? Yes. Did that stop you from buying a one-way ticket? Absolutely not. Your mom had moved on to her third husband at that point, doting on her step-kids and avoiding the fact that someone had spray painted the f-slur onto your car five times during your senior year of high school (which to her, was just more evidence that you should marry a man.) It felt so cliche, a small-town girl moving to the big city to chase her dreams, but it was hard to care when it felt so freeing. Once you stepped off the plane, the LA sun hit your face and you knew, this was home.Â
You figured maybe that being in a big city would increase your chances of finding your soulmate, but even when the thread popped up, it was eerily faint. Most times, it wasnât even there at all. You werenât sure what the rules were regarding distance, but it was frustrating. Despite that, you continued on, getting your Bachelors and Masters, no soulmate in sight. Somewhere in the eight years it had been fading in and out of sight, you had made peace with it. You lived in a beautiful apartment with your golden retriever Lily, had a stable job at an art museum, and got coffee and a scone from the bakery down the street every Saturday morning. No mom telling you you needed a man, no people yelling slurs at you, just quiet, content mornings and relaxing evenings. A perfect routine in which your soulmate wasnât present at all.Â
But of course, that didnât last for very long. It was a cool fall morning when you, quite literally, bumped into Angela Giarratana. You were walking Lily at a park, letting her sniff all the freshly fallen leaves and bark at the geese (from a very safe distance away, of course.) Except this time, she found something out of the ordinary. A very big worm, sticking out of the ground. She meandered over to it, then gently started to tug on it.
âLily, sweet girl, what are you doing?â You looked at her confusedly, since her ears hadnât perked up when you called her name. Then you noticed that she had something in her mouth. âLily, what is that?â She continued to tug as you made your way over to her. âLily, drop it, we don't eat worms.â She finally pulled it out of the earth, then tore off, dragging you with her. The wind stung your eyes as you whipped through the area, making it hard to see. âLily! Slow down!â She took a sharp turn, slamming you right into a solid object and forcing you to drop the leash.Â
Gathering your bearings, you realized you had run into the most beautiful woman you had ever seen in your life. And then, while looking up at her from your position on the concrete, you saw it out of the corner of your eye. The gold thread attached to your hand was the strongest you had ever seen, and it was firmly tied to the other womanâs pinky. âHoly fuck.âÂ
She reached out a hand to help you up. âHoly fuck is right.â
âYouâre beautiful.â You said, quickly flushing and covering your mouth in embarrassment.Â
âOh, uh, thank you? Sorry, I just am, in shock I think?âÂ
âNo, no, thatâs completely understandable, I - um, I think I should go find my dog.â Lily had stopped running and was now bouncing in circles around a very old chihuahua. She had put the worm on his head and he just seemed to be okay with it.Â
âI think Spork and your dog are getting along just fine.â
âLilyâs a menace, Iâm so sorry. She has way too much energy for her own good.â
âItâs totally alright, he seems to be enjoying himself.â Spork did indeed seem to be enjoying the attention, tongue flopping out of his mouth happily.
You looked back at her. âIâm Y/N, by the way. Sorry for running into you.â
She laughed, and the only thing you could think about was how cute her dimples were. âIâm Angela, and donât worry about it. Itâs not every day I get to run into a pretty girl.âÂ
âItâs not every day you run into your soulmate either.â She hummed in agreement, then shivered. The wind had picked up considerably since the start of your walk, and it was swirling leaves around her head in an angelic fashion. You unwound your scarf from your neck before wrapping it around hers. She looked at you in awe. âI canât have the prettiest girl Iâve ever seen getting cold, besides, it compliments your eyes.âÂ
âMarry me.â She blurted out.Â
You giggled at her wide-eyed gaze, her blush matching your own. âI think maybe we should start with lunch first.â
âYeah, okay, yeah, lunch sounds great.âÂ
Lily came up to you, holding her leash in her mouth, looking like she was the cat who caught the canary. Spork was next to her, shivering in his autumn themed sweater and teeny boots. You reached down, scooping Spork up, which he let you do effortlessly. You tucked him into your jacket. Lily rubbed herself against Angelaâs legs, leaving a trail of blonde fur all over her black pants, before presenting the leash to her. She took it tentatively. âThereâs a dog friendly cafe a couple blocks away, do you want to go there?â
âThat sounds wonderful.â
â-------------
After that, soulmates were no longer just a fleeting, unreliable concept to you. You and Angela had been attached at the hip since that fateful day, and in typical U-Haul Lesbian fashion, had moved in together fairly quickly after. You hadnât realized that even though your quiet life was nice, it had been lacking something. That something was companionship, someone who just got you. It manifested itself in matching mugs, t-shirts youâd steal from her closet, and a dog hair filled lint roller right next to the door, among other things. It was home.Â
Despite this, the two of you had very different schedules, but it was comforting that you could always put something on the TV to listen to her voice, even if she had a crazy shoot week on top of a show on top of a premiere. You usually preferred to stand back and watch her craziness with a proud look in your eye and a lipstick smear on your cheek. Sticky notes with sweet messages were left on your forehead, and takeout with her favorite Thai curry was ordered to your apartment when you were having a late night at the office. But the one thing you hated was that something deep within you yearned to be public, to let her fanbase know that she had someone to lean on. There had already been a couple of posts where people had suggested that she had a girlfriend, but most people just brushed them off, even if she made references to going on dates or living with someone.
Her coworkers knew you existed, but had never met you either. You talked to a few of them on the phone a couple of times, but they were all just so busy. So when the opportunity arose for you to make a grand entrance, you seized it.Â
One day during your lunch break, she called you. You picked up immediately, worrying something was wrong, since she was usually too busy to call during the day.Â
âIs everything alright my love?â
âYes! Everythingâs amazing! I have a quick question for you though baby.â
âWhatâs up?â
âSmosh is having a 20th anniversary party, and I know parties arenât your fave, so youâre allowed to say no, but I would love it if you would come with me, so you could meet everyone and celebrate with us.â
Joyful tears started to form in your eyes. âOf course I will Ange, it would mean the world to me. You mean the world to me.â
âI love you so much baby.â
âI love you too honey, see you at home.â
âItâs my turn to cook, Iâm going to spoil you rotten.â
âYou always do, love. Be safe today.â
âYou too.â You ended the call, butterflies doing flips in your stomach. Lucky was the only word you could find to describe how you felt. Lucky to be hers, no matter what.Â
â-------
The day of the party came quicker than you imagined, and suddenly you found yourself looking in the mirror and adjusting the hem of your deep red dress. You pulled your black heeled boots and your faux leather jacket on, turning to the side to make sure you liked the fit of it. Finally, you slid on a few chunky rings, including the one she had gotten you for your nine month anniversary.Â
You heard a gasp come from behind you, and you perked up.Â
âHi love.â
âI donât think Iâll ever get enough of looking at you honey, youâre next level gorgeous.â
You blushed, taking in your girlfriendâs outfit. âI think you and I are on the exact same page babe, look at you!â
You grabbed her hand, twirling her. The gold line of your soulmate bond contrasted with the black of her outfit, making it stand out even more than usual. Pulling her close to you, you murmured, âI love you so much my darling,â before dipping her into a kiss.Â
She stood up with a smile, cleaning up your messy lipstick with her thumb. âAs much as I hate to stop kissing you, I have a gift for you.â
âOh?â You were intrigued. Sometimes Angela knew what you wanted before you realized it.Â
She handed you a small black box with silver lettering. Opening it, you saw two stunning necklaces. One with your birthstone, and the other, with hers. âI thought that I could wear the one with your birthstone and you could wear the one with mine. I know you hate the thought of those initial necklaces, but I wanted to have something of you to keep with me, even when Iâm away.â
Your heart melted, fingertips skimming the thin chains. âTheyâre beautiful love. Will you help me put it on?â
âOf course darling.â She moved behind you, clasping it behind your neck. You looked in the mirror, hyper focused on where the opal sat on your clavicle.
âItâs perfect.â You turned around, doing the same for her. The cool metal made her shiver, and you placed a kiss on the back of her neck to soothe her. âI wish we didnât have to get going, I could stay here forever.â
âOur forever started that day you fell for me in the park.â
You smiled down at your entwined hands, thread shimmering in the lamp light. âIâm so thankful it did. Do you want me to drive?â
âYes please, Iâm sure Iâll have way too much wine.â You started to herd her out the door, knowing how much she hated being late. âOne more kiss before we go?â
âAlways.â
â--------
The party was perfect. Even though you hadnât had anything alcoholic to drink, it felt like you were drunk from all the joy everyone was radiating. You wondered why you had ever been nervous about meeting any of them in the first place, you had fit right in immediately. As the party was coming to an end, Amanda was showing you and Olivia pictures of Cole when you felt a heavy weight on your back.Â
âHiiiiiiiiiiiiii.â Ange had been right, she had had way too much wine.Â
You pulled her close to you. âHi baby, you wanna go home?â
âNooo Iâm having so much fun with Chanseeeee.â Out of your peripheral vision you clocked Spencer getting Chanse and his boyfriend into the backseat of his car, Alex already half asleep in the passenger seat. He caught your eye and gave you a subtle thumbs up as he shut the door.Â
âBaby, Chanse is going home with Spencer, I think we should go too.â
âMmmmmmm fineeee.â She pulled Olivia and Amanda into a hug. âI love you guys soooooo much, youâre the absolute best.â Letting go, she clung onto your arm like a baby monkey. âBye guys!!!!â
âIt was nice to meet you all!âÂ
You steered Angela towards the car. Luckily the venue was only a twenty minute drive back to your apartment, so you didnât have to worry about her throwing up in the car (at least, you hoped.) She didnât seem that drunk anyway. Buckling her in, she pouted. âKiss time.â
You pecked her lips. âKiss time.â She beamed, grabbing your arm and peppering it in little kisses. âAnge, honey, Iâve gotta drive the car.â Crossing her arms, she humphed and turned away from you. Taking your cue, you shut the door and moved to sit in the driver's seat. Once you started to drive, you put your palm face up on the console, letting her know it was okay to take your hand. She grabbed it enthusiastically, resuming her attack from before. âDo you want anything to eat baby?â
Her eyes widened as she saw it in the distance. âMcDonalds?â You already had the navigation plugged into the nearest one, knowing she would say that long before you had even gotten into the car.Â
You pulled through the drive through. âCan we have a Sprite, a chocolate milkshake and two large fries please?â Your girlfriend wiggled in her seat excitedly as she heard you recite your usual go-to drunk order. You passed her her Sprite, leaving the fries in the bag. âTwo hands honey.â You reminded her gently. There was an unfortunate day where she spilled it all over her car, leaving her Sprite-less and everything sticky.Â
She cradled it like it was the most precious thing in the universe as you started to drive again, humming an indistinct tune. Leaning her head on your shoulder, she said, âThank you baby! You know me so well.â
You chuckled. âI would hope so love, we are soulmates after all.â Pulling into the parking lot, you could see Spork and Lily in the window where you had left a small living room light on for them. Getting out of the car, you took the food and drinks, knowing that Angela would have a visceral reaction to seeing your children again.Â
The two of you took the elevator up, and you unlocked the door, letting her in first. The dogs pounced on her and she yelled âBabies!!!!!â while letting them lick all over her face. She ended up on the ground, Spork perched on her stomach and Lily sniffing her pants to try and figure out where sheâd been.Â
Once the dogs had settled down and the two of you had changed into pajamas, you brought the drinks and (now extremely cold) fries to the couch. The two of you put a movie on, and ate everything, despite the fact that the fries were floppy and your milkshake had long since melted.Â
Tracing circles on her thigh where she had curled up next to you, you whispered, âThank you for inviting me tonight, I had the best time.â
âThank you for being here for me.â She murmured back, half asleep on your shoulder.
âAnything for you.â
You could hear her breathing deepen as she shifted to get more comfortable. Looking around for a moment, you realized that this was everything you had ever wished for when you were little. A calm, happy life, filled with friends and love. And it was all because of her. Reaching over to turn off the lamp to help the two of you sleep better, your soulmate bond glittered. You swore that if it could speak, it would be saying âI told you so.âÂ
As you fell asleep, all you could think of was how in any life, you were utterly and completely hers. And that was the way that everyone knew it should be.Â

Your sleep is interrupted by your 7AM alarm to get up and go to work. The sun shinning through the blinds makes it hard to open your eyes so you can turn off your alarm, your arm slapping your bedside table, knocking a few things down. After turning off your alarm and letting out a groan, you get out of bed slowly before youâre hit with anxiety. You have to open up shop at 9AM but before that you have to shower, get dressed, do your makeup, eat breakfast, domehow avoid all traffic getting to the shop and dealing with the annoyance that is the assistant manager. After brushing away doubts of not getting to work on time you finally start getting ready.
Youâve worked at this game store for what was supposed to be a couple months to get back onto your feet financially. Unfortunately, those couple months turned into a couple years. So many years in fact that your boss has enough trust in you to open up and close for the night, and doing a bunch of his busywork. Though youâve basically become the boss at this point, the assistant manager treats you with the lowest possible standards and respect. The reason your anxiety had hit harder this morning compared to others is because the assistant manager had yelled at you yesterday for having a drink by the register. Saying it was too âunprofessionalâ and âtackyâ as if you all werenât working in a store dedicated for board games. Though she was tolerable, that doesnât mean you look forward to seeing her.
âŠ
Opening up shop is definitely the most peaceful time of your day. Despite the busy streets, inside the shop is quiet, warm, with ambient lightning, and no customers. Despite the assistant manager running this shop like the navy, thereâs seriously no demand for board games. Customers donât start rolling in till the afternoon so thereâs no real point in opening up so early. But you take this chance to listen to music or just be on your phone.
âOff your phone now!â An antagonizing voice interrupts the peaceful environment that had been established since you opened up. This piercing voice is one youâre too familiar with, the assistant manager.
âLay off,â You groan, dropping your phone and leaning forward from your chair to drop your head onto the counter.
âYou need to mark these games for sale and you must give every customer a reminder that everything is buy 2 get 1 free!â She says as she sets down a stack of stickers onto the counter and handing you the clipboard that she previously carried.
âThis is like,â you pause flipping through the pages, âOur entire stock,â
âYeah,â She sighs, âIf you couldnât tell by our lack of customers, weâre going out of business,â
âOh shitâ You stare at her. Truthfully you were concerned over how you were going to get another job rather than your current task at hand.
âŠ
Setting discounts for almost the entire stock made you sweat, probably the only time this job has made you work this hard. You debated laying on the floor for a while but glancing at the time, 1PM, you knew customers would start coming in and if the assistant manager caught you like that, you wouldnât hear the end of it.
âGood afternoon welcome in,â You put on an extra layer of enthusiasm as you greet the first customer of the day, a mom followed by three children.
âHi!â Her kids start running around and touching everything in their reach. As the kids find interest in one corner the mom walks up to you looking concerned.
âWould you happen to know any games that would keep my kids entertained for hours?â She drags out her words when she said hours, clearly sheâs been through some rough times because of her kids.
You laugh before answering, âI recommend Moose Master, itâs pretty competitive but everyone has to be extremely focused to win the game and each round lasts a while,â
âThank you, youâre a lifesaver!â She puts a hand on her chest dramatically, though you can tell by how her kids are screaming, that she is sincere with her words.
âŠ
There was no customers for the following hour and you had to bear hearing the terrible music playing since youâve had to put your phone away.
Until he walked in.
The regular, the only customer to come by consistently, but most importantly, your friend, Spencer.
âHey Spence,â You wave to your good friend.
âHey Y/n, you got any games for me?â He leans up against the counter.
âIf Iâm being honest with you,â You sigh, âThe whole store is discounted so take everything your wallet allows,â You shake your head, arms crossed as you lean back in your chair.
âOh nice!â He laughs as you both walk towards the more mature games.
âNo! Not nice Spencer!â You laugh in confusion. âIâm gonna lose my job soon,â
âFuck dude, maybe we can get you on Smosh,â He crosses his arms inspecting the wall.
âYeah right,â Rolling your eyes as if you wanted any part of that.
âAlright well help me out here! Youâre the mastermind behind these games, you pick the best ones,â
âWell,â Itâs hard to see what games are available through the big yellow discount signs stuck onto the shelves.
âI feel like weâve played all these games before, itâs like Iâm staring at the same games just with different names,â He admits as he takes a step back to get a better look at the collection.
You laugh in response, âYouâre telling me,â You crouch to get a look at the board games on the bottom shelf. âMaybe you just need a new set of eyes to pick something out,â
âAre you saying that because Iâm wearing glasses?â Spencer looks offended but after a brief moment of silence you both laugh, shaking his head in false disapproval.
âNo!â You realize how what you said could be offensive. âI just mean maybe you need a second opinion on these games besides me. Someone with a different perspective. A new set of eyes,â
âNot a bad idea,â He shrugs. âMaybe iâll bring someone by next week,â
After a moment of silence, you speak up âUno came out with a new version, you wanna try that?â interrupting his thinking.
âWell,â He stares at the package as you hold it, âYeah this could work,â
âSo,â You two walk towards the register, âHowâs the channel?â You scan the deck of Uno.
âReally good actually! We had a pretty good year!â Spencer ushers his hands to his pocket to find his wallet.
âThatâs great to hear,â You say almost instantly like this dialogue was planned. Or like youâve had this same response to every other customer that tells you their day went well. âOkay so after the discount the deck is $4,â
âWow you guys are really closing down huh?â He laughs, pushing up his glasses.
âAnd guess what,â
âWhat?â
âYou have $6.18 in rewards points if you wanna use that,â You laugh and drop your hand from the register onto the counter. Itâs unbelievable how such a big part of your life is coming to an end.
âSweet! Iâll use it,â Spencer returns his wallet back into his pocket.
You ring up Spencer and hand him his receipt. âSee you next week?â
âYeah Iâll come by with a new set of eyes for ya,â He laughs, taking the receipt and walking out the store.
Pretty please with a cherry on top would you write a fic where Reader works at a board game store and one day Spencer brings Angela in to help pick out their next Board AF game but she canât because sheâs too smitten and flirty with the really cute employee?
Synopsis: Spencer is a regular at the board game store you work at where he takes your recommendations for Board AF videos. One day he brings Angela with him and now she becomes a regular as she takes interest in you, the worker.
okay so!! maybe something where angela and reader have been dating for like years, and angela proposes and they decide to tell the cast & the world through a reddit post that reader had done about them like years before (and like âupdateâ would just be a pic of their engagement
Am I The Asshole For Falling In Love?
Synopsis: Itâs time to film a Reddit stories episode where you and Angela have been casted together. Little does Shayne and the crew realize, this is Angela and yours Reddit post.
a/n: YOUUU FR ATE DOWWNNN W THIS PROMPT OOOOOUUUUUU
âAre you ready?â Angela asks you, hand on your shoulder. You two are sitting down on the couch waiting for the cameras to start rolling for the first shoot of the day.
âIâm a little nervous but,â you pause to take a deep breath âIâm ready,â you nod to her. It had been a long time coming. You and Angela have been dating for 3 years and last week was when Angela had finally proposed to you. It was a cute private proposal after dinner in a well organized little set up by a water fountain. It was perfect for both of you and you wouldnât have it any other way. The only problem? Telling everyone. You and Angela have had long and sometimes emotional, heated conversations about when to tell everyone in Smosh. But after many conversations, you both have decided to wait until there was a ring on your guysâ fingers before saying anything and potentially ruining the dynamic of the workplace. Thankfully your relationship is better than ever and youâve made it to the point that you guys have been talking about, telling everyone.
Shayne sits down and waits for the crewâs cue to start the intro.
âHello and welcome to Smosh reads Reddit stories Iâm Shayne and todayâs theme? Surprise? I actually donât knowâ Shayne laughs and motions to you and Angela. âIâm joined here today with Angela and Y/n. But we also have the entire rest of the cast behind the cameraâ You both wave at the camera before the rest of the cast cheers from the background.
âI also donât know what the theme is or anything of what is going onâ You lie, obviously. The truth is that you had to tell Bailey to get your idea green lit.
âYeah I also have no idea what youâre about to read to us,â Angela lies and even though sheâs an actor, it still catches you by surprise by how good of an actor Angela truly is.
âAlright well,â Shayne pauses for suspense, âLetâs get started,â He picks up his ipad and begins reading. âThis is from the Am I The Asshole subreddit. Am I the asshole for falling in love with my coworker?â Shayne puts the ipad down to look at you and Angela
âShayne you must know a lot about this,â you laugh as you hear the rest of the crew laugh as well.
âShayne maybe you can give OP some tips,â Angela tilts her head towards you.
âI uh-yeah Iâll give some adviceâ Shayne canât contain his laughter and begins laughing at the awkward situation before maintaining his composure and continues reading.
âI, female, am in love with my coworker, also female. I started working with her almost a year ago and from the beginning sheâs been nothing but sweetest to me. To keep this clear, weâll call my coworker A. A and I started off as friends who hung out pretty regularly and it wasnât until a holiday party that made me realize I was in love with her,â
Angela looks over at you and even though you two are engaged, itâs still embarrassing having this Reddit post being read out loud to the world. You canât help but hide yourself in the blanket.
âUh oh, Y/nâs in the blanket already,â Shayne pauses from the story.
âNothing has even happened yet!â Angela laughs and tugs at the blanket thatâs over your head.
âSorry I donât mean to interrupt! This is scary-Iâm scared for OP,â you let Angela take the blanket off of you.
âWell hey, you never know how A is going to feel towards OPâ Shayne shrugs. Itâs kinda surreal having Shayne comment on this throwaway post you made years ago. Itâs even more surreal knowing the ending of the post and how youâve lived through the post heâs about to read.
âAt this holiday party, I had many drinks and A had noticed and wouldnât let me stay at the party. At the time I thought she was kicking me out but she actually drove me to my house and spent the night with me. We were really close friends at this point and A had spent the night with me a couple times before so this wasnât out of the blue. The next morning I was super hungover and she took care of me, A ran me a bath, made me breakfast, made me a couple hangover cures, and even cleaned up after me when I threw up. She had stayed till late in the evening and I found out that she called out of work to take care of me. I felt so bad that I offered to buy her dinner the following night but she politely declined,â he continued reading.
âWow I wouldâve taken the offer of a free dinner,â You admit looking at Angela hoping that she would take the hint that still to this day youâre angry at her that she declined the invitation.
âIt was then when I realized how much A cared about me, to the point of spending the entire day just to make sure I was okay. Even though I couldâve taken care of myself just fine because after throwing up in the morning I felt immensely better, but having A there just made everything feel better than if I were alone. Fast forward a couple days later, A and I followed by a couple other coworkers were working on a project. Long story short A and I got into a disagreement about something completely unrelated. It ended with A telling me that she âCouldnât keep relying on her and had to stand up for myselfâ which was the complete opposite of what had happened nights before,â Shayne sighs.
âOh god,â Angela leans her head back and covers her face. In return you rest your hand on her knee trying to shake her out of her emotions. Truthfully, this argument that had happened has been resolved but Angela has never moved on. No matter how many times you reassured her that the argument was dumb and how much you forgave her, Angela wouldnât accept it.
âThis argument resulted in me walking away and ignoring A for a couple days. My boss had called me to ask if I was okay, I guess he noticed how different I was acting. At this point I had been ignoring her texts after A repeatedly tried talking it out. It wasnât until the next night where she showed up to my house with flowers to apologize. We had talked and at first we came to a conclusion of forgetting the whole situation even happened. Though, when I mentioned how much I appreciated her taking care of me and going out of her way to get me flowers, occasionally flirting here and there, A would avoid eye contact and make excuses saying things like âthatâs what friends are forâ or âIâd do it for my good friendâ which had really been disheartening to hear. That lead to another argument about the workplace being ruined if we continued like this. I really like her but sheâs pretty dismissive and against it. I donât know what to do, am I the asshole?â Shayne finally finishes reading and takes a deep breath after finishing the last sentence of the post.
âOkay well OP is clearly not the asshole,â Angela speaks quickly which you canât help but nod in agreement. âYou canât blame yourself for whoever you fall in love with,â She adds.
âWell yeah, I think this situation is very different from mine. I say OP should probably wait it out for a while before giving up on A,â Shayne admits while looking at you both.
âWow Shayne you wouldnât fight for love in this scenario?â You ask jokingly, receiving a laugh for Angela.
âI would! Itâs just that A doesnât seem as into it as OPâ He defends. âBut, we have an update!â He bursts out. In return everyone in the room cheers for the announcement.
âUpdate: We made up and are now dating,â
âYes!â Angela cheers and begins clapping. You joined her and stood up to also begin clapping.
Shayne continues, âWe made up in the parking lot after work and set some ground rules for our relationship and began dating soon after. Thank you all for your thoughts and opinions from my last post!â Shayne shrugs.
âThey figured it out!â You throw your arms back.
âYeah I think itâs smart they set some rules for their relationship considering they are coworkers. Thatâs what Courtney and I did,â Shayne adds on.
âYeah but I think in general for any type of relationship, rules are very necessary,â Angela adds trying to play along.
After some discussion about the post, Bailey interrupts, âThereâs a final update,â
Again, everyone cheers.
âUpdate: We are married now!â Shayne widens his eyes in shock and turns the ipad to show you and Angela the engagement ring.
âOh thatâs beautiful!â You cover your mouth with the hand that the same ring is on in the post, practically flaunting it to everyone.
âWait,â Shayne stops. âYour ring is similar to the post,â he analyzes the ring.
Both you and Angela stay quiet as you watch Shayne put the pieces together.
âIs that the same ring? Wait is this your post Y/n?â Shayne begins frantically asking.
âHow would you guys have the same ring?â Angela asks as she takes your left hand revealing her own engagement ring.
âWait-â Shayne looks over at the crew and the rest of the cast. âAre you two engaged? Is this your post?â Shayne starts laughing as he comes to realization and you guys just nod in response.
The entire rooms breaks and starts congratulating you guys on your recent engagement and praising you on the way you two revealed it. You heard multiple âWhat!â and yelling especially from Chanse and Amanda.
âŠ
After finishing filming the episode, the entire cast questioned you and Angela about details of the start of your guysâ relationship. Though it was really overwhelming, you had no problem finally telling all of your friends the biggest secret you guys have been hiding for the past couple of years. The heaviest weight had been lifted off your shoulders and now the only stressor you and Angela had to worry about was planning the wedding.
Hello! Hoping for a fic where reader doesn't realize they're bi until they grow to have feelings/attracted to Angela...flirting happens maybe at a smosh party and after some alcohol one thing leads to another...
Liquor Confidence
Synopsis: You and Angela have always been the closest of friends, so close that youâve questioned if you wanted her more than just a friend. During a Smosh holiday party, everything changes.
When you first joined Smosh, Angela was the first person who made you feel comfortable in the workplace. She would continuously ask for your opinion or what felt like just dragging you into the conversation. After a couple years, youâre imbedded into Smosh and thereâs no need for Angela to put so much effort into including you. You and Angela are a fan favorite duo, so much so that there are multiple fan edits of you two. It wasnât until a couple months ago where you seen a ship edit of you two.
âNo way,â You freeze. The edit was convincing, the way Angelaâs stare would linger on you, touches that lasted longer than they shouldâve, the constant laughing, and her overall demeanor around you. The edit changed your perspective on your guysâ friendship. You knew it shouldnât have because thereâs many edits of you being shipped with Arasha and Courtney but youâve always laughed it off.
You recall finding an edit last week and showing Arasha. âArasha look at this edit!â You ran across the room to show her an edit that had popped up on your feed.
âWait weâd look good as a couple,â She laughs as she takes in the well made edit with the transitions and explicit music.
âSucks that Fabian is in the picture,â You groan and act annoyed before laughing as you walk away to go sit back with Angela.
âI think thereâs more edits me and you though,â Angela says under her breath before taking a bite of her food. Though you ask her to repeat herself, she dismisses it.
Shit.
Now reminiscing on these small moments youâve had with Angela, everything is more confusing than ever. But there is no time to dwell on these complications. Tonight you were to attend the Smosh holiday party before the big break from filming and you were in the middle of getting ready. But that thought couldnât leave your mind. Did you really like Angela? Of course you did, sheâs great, But as girlfriends? The thought of being with her romantically made your heart ache. This has been a feeling that youâve been pushing down for a while. Before you could analyze any further, a call from Courtney interrupts the edit that you had yet to move on from. Before answering the call you bookmark the edit.
âHello?â
âY/n are you almost ready? We just picked up Olivia and weâre 20 minutes away from your placeâ
âWell-yeah Iâm almost readyâ You lie.
âOkay see you soon bye!â
Courtney took it upon herself to be the designated driver for a you, Olivia, and Angela so you all could drink without having to worry about getting home. With only 20 minutes left before needing to leave, thereâs no time to think about your feelings.
Getting into the car, you greet Courtney, Shayne, and Olivia, all talking about how excited you are for this party.
âY/n can you call Angela and tell her weâre 10 minutes away?â Courtney asked you while turning the corner of your street. Just hearing Angelaâs name made felt like your stomach was dropping after every letter pronounced.
âHello?â
âHey Angela weâre 10 minutes away, are you ready?â
âYeah Iâm readyâ Her voice sent a shiver down your spine.
Angela sat next to you in the car and all of your thought and worries had washed away for a moment. Everything was normal, laughing at each other, easy talks, and that sense of comfort. This continued as you arrived to the party, though, your feelings for Angela were not diluting. Seeing Angela in her black dress is a sight youâll never get tired of. Seeing her in different attire from her everyday clothes only fuels your feelings for her.
As the party started to get going and almost everyone has had multiple drinks in their system, you felt extremely comfortable. Youâve been hanging out with Arasha and it had been a while since youâve seen Angela.
âDo you know where Angela is?â You finish the last sip of your drink.
âI think sheâs with Amanda near the backâ
âOkay bye love you,â You speak fast as you hop off the stool. Arasha laughs noticing your behavior change and you finally letting loose. You and Arasha had a couple drinks together, both reminiscing on embarrassing moments from your early days in Smosh. During that conversation you had told Arasha about the edit and how you have had been bottling up some feeling about Angela. Arasha told you to go for it and that was all it took for you to go find her.
The lights were dim so it was pretty hard navigating through the area, bumping into a couple crew members on accident.
âErin! Iâm so sorry please donât fire meâ you drag your words out and rest your head on Erinâs shoulder.
âY/n Iâm not even in charge of that,â She laughs, âAre you drunk?â Erin pulls your head up gently to get a good look of your face.
âI donât know,â You whine. But itâs obvious. Your cheeks are flushed, you had some hair sticking to your temple, and you were slurring your words.
âDo you know where-â And speak of the devil, Angela interrupts your conversation. Though you donât know where she came from, she came and pulled you gently by your waist, stealing you from Erin.
âHey where have you been?â Her tone was different, it wasnât her regular excited manner, her voice was low and direct. Her arm had fallen from your waist but you placed her arm back onto your own waist. In return Angela tightened her grip around you and pulled you closer being hip to hip as you both walked to a quieter place.
âHey Iâve been looking for you,â You lean against the wall next to you, holding your sides where Angela had her arm placed.
âYou have?â
âOf course, I missed you,â You close your eyes on the last half of your sentence and even though youâve told Angela countless times that youâve missed her, this time everything feel different to you now coming to terms with your feelings.
âYou know I missed you too,â Angela smiles.
âYeah whatever,â You roll your eyes at her and laugh lightly. Angela doesnât.
âIâm serious Y/n. I missed you,â Her face is serious and she takes your hand into hers.
âAre you feeling okay? Your face is red,â She places her hand against your forehead and moves closer to you out of concern. âShit Y/n, youâre really hot,â
âIâm fine,â You take her hand off of your forehead but donât let go. âYou look really good right nowâ You smile looking at Angela.
âOnly right now? What about yesterday?â Angela teases, smiling at you only squinting her eyes knowing whatâs going on.
âYou know what I mean,â
âDo I?â
The space between you two had been shortened, noses almost touching. Your arms wrapped on top of her shoulders while she rests her hands on your hips.
âYouâre so pretty all the time,â Your eyes are glued to Angelaâs lips and every second passing your hunger for her lips grew stronger.
âSo are you,â
Whether it was the alcohol, the distance, the tension, you lean in and kiss Angela before any more time goes to waste. Angela pulls your body impossibly closer to yours and kisses you as if she was starving. This moment had been a long time coming and you needed more of this feeling.
You had broke the kiss to look at Angela. Both of you were out of breath and you could argue that Angela was more red than you were. After a quick glance at her lips, before you know it, her lips are on yours again and your back is fully against the wall. Your hands are creeping along her back and occasionally reaching to the back of her neck, slightly tugging at the hairs. Angelaâs grip had tightened around your waist and it was hard for the both of you to keep quiet. It wasnât until someone had dropped a glass that you two break out of your trance.
âCan we leave?â You ask trying not to come off as desperate but you needed her more than ever. Angela was obviously equally as desperate as she just nodded her head rapidly and pulled you out of the party.
Though it was a short walk to her apartment, it was going to be a long night.
Synopsis: You and Angela have been dating for some time and she suggest you moving into her apartment. The only problem, Spork.
âEnough!â you laugh as you and Angela step out of the car. It had been been a long day at the office, multiple back to back shoots, one long meeting, and many mind numbing rules to memorize for board af. Angela had been playfully mocking your bit from TNTL that was so unfunny it made Angela spit her water out.
Angelaâs apartment was like a second home to you even having a dedicated drawer specifically for you. Her bathroom? Filled with your products. There have been days where you were looking for a specific shirt in your own closet only to realize itâs in a drawer in Angelaâs apartment.
âWait,â you hold Angelaâs hand before she opens the door to her home. Making eye contact with your uneasy expression, Angela already knows what youâre about to ask.
âYes y/n, Spork is here. Heâs just a dog!â Angela scoffs a bit. âSpork isnât even a foot tall, babeâ she reassures before opening and walking into the apartment.
Angela walks in and drops her bag and coat on a nearby table by the entrance. Spork runs up due to the noise and starts jumping by your girlfriendâs leg before Angela crouched down to pet and kiss him. Usually, dogs bark when they donât recognize a stranger which leads to growling, snarling, or even worse but arguably, Spork is worse when it comes to you. Even after years of being over at Angelaâs, he just stares at you from a distance. The first couple of times you visited Angela in her apartment there was definitely an effort to get familiar with Spork. It wasnât that you disliked dogs, you loved them, but for some reason you couldnât get along with him.
âAngela do something,â you say as you hid behind her, body still not fully into the apartment and holding all your things you had brought into work that day.
âBabe,â she sighs, âHe wonât do anything, look!â Angela picks him up with one hand effortlessly and walks over to pull you inside by your hand. âSpork say hi,â She slightly nudges him in your direction only to be met with Sporkâs blank stare, tongue out, and subtle shaking.
âHey bud,â you say as you nervously pet the dog who in your eyes, was your biggest enemy.
After some forced interaction and affection you shared with Spork, you and Angela have found comfort within each other lying on the couch, blanket draped over both of you. Your head resting in the crook of Angelaâs neck, arm wrapped around her waist while her arm is wrapped around you, head resting on yours.
âI washed your clothes you left here,â Angela speaks softly as the sun starts to set while the show you guys had on the tv continues playing for background noise.
âThanks,â you sigh âIâll get my stuff out of your place today, I think I have more clothes here than in my own homeâ you laugh as soak in peaceful atmosphere that juxtaposes the exhausting work day.
âYou donât need to do that-â Angela interrupts herself âHey?â she lifts her head to look at you, âWhy donât you just move in?â she asks.
âAre you serious?â her question caught you off guard. You enjoyed spending nights over at Angelaâs apartment and loved the domestic life of waking up together, getting ready together, lounging together, everything. Just coexisting together in the same space brought you a sense of belonging and comfort that no one else could bring, especially not yourself in your own apartment.
âYeah! I mean, I already have a drawer for you and Iâm sure all your stuff could fit in here,â The energy shifted from peaceful to exciting. It was sweet seeing Angelaâs excitement about taking a next step to your guysâ relationship. The way she sat up, the way she looked at you with nothing but love. How could you say no?
âOkay! Yeah, Iâll move inâ you smile as you two share a sweet kiss. Her lips are warm against yours and in this moment, everything around you is irrelevant. The tv? canât hear it. The sunset? canât see it. Sporkâs little paws pattering against the floor? very noticeable.
You pull away from the kiss. âWhat about Spork?â you ask as he stares at you from across the room. Angela turns and laugh at the unbelievable sight of her tiny chihuahua causing you so much trouble.
âWell, letâs try something,â unexpectedly, leaving the warm position you two were in, which you slightly protested by groaning as she stood up. Angela comes back with Spork in her arms and sits back down on the couch, Sporkâs attention never leaving you. âHere,â she places her dog in your arms faster than you could oppose.
âAngela please,â you complain as he sits and stares at you while heâs on your lap. In fear that he might snap, you back your head away from him. After some light petting and scratching of his ears, Spork lays and finds comfort on your lap. This differing action makes you look over at Angela in shock, a slight smile sneaking onto your face.
âMaybe it wonât be that hard for him to get used to you,â She starts petting him while smiling at the thought of the two most important things in her life finally getting along. Feeling Sporkâs breathing slow down as he falls asleep brings a sense of relief that confirms that you have been given permission from Spork to moving in with your girlfriend.
