Well, it looks as if I am in need of going into town to achieve some blackout curtains as these sheer one's in my room will simply not do. I can't exactly pinpoint when and where I've been unable to sleep in any type of room where it wasn't pitch dark, but here I am! Does anyone else have this issue? In general, that is. Being so nitpicky on one small thing that it seems to ruin the entire experience? Because I never slept well in new places to begin with, and I need to feel as if I'm encased in darkness before I can even relax. Sensory play, if you will.

hello, dalton-- מה נשמע? ma nishma? for those of you who have somehow managed to avoid hearing my name before now, i’m ross stephen berry ⭐ and yes, yes, that ross berry. save the applause, i already know there are people who are concerned about my "intimidating level of preparation" that the press spins on me, but personally, i think being prepared is simply a sign of respect for everyone involved, but apparently not everyone shares that philosophy.

if you don't know my name, we'll have to further cultural development for dalton, apparently, and maybe i'll convince someone to let me host a 'broadway for dummies' where we can go over the important things, like: the difference between a revival and a transfer, basic sondheim literacy, and which cast recordings you should have already listened to by now.

anyhow, so here's to keep it all brief: i sing, i act, i dance; i am the ideal triple threat. i’m extremely punctual, and i’ve been told i can be "a lot," which i’ve chosen to interpret as another way of saying memorable and iconic, of course. i also really make lists for pretty much anything and everything, which is not obsessive, it’s efficient and i'll stand my ground for that.

he wasn't keeping track of how long he'd been on campus but this really had to be some sort of record for him. he had barely settled in, all of his things were strewn across his bed on the right side of the room, and he was already stripped down to nothing but a pair of tight black boxer briefs that hugged against the curve of his behind perfectly; and because his bed was already covered, he was sitting on his new roommates bed as he rifled through his luggage for a clean outfit to pull on. and he was still sitting there as his new roommate pushed the door open and joined him. so much for making a good first impression.

"shit, sorry," theo mumbled as he quickly rose to his feet and started frantically trying to unfold the clean clothes he had in his hands so he could make himself decent again. "it was-- uh, yeah-- i was late to my flight so instead of flying straight in i had to catch a connecting flight, which took about six hours," he began to ramble as he offered the other a sheepish smile, "and the guy next to me accidentally spilled his coke all over me so i was already sticky from that-- then the thirty minute cab ride i had to take from the airport into the city didn't have any air conditioning, and then i got roped into one of those walking tours once i got on campus..." by the time he had made it to his room he was a sweaty, tired mess but he thought he'd try and make a good first impression by at least freshen himself up a bit so he could look half-way presentable when he met the person he'd be living with here at dalton. but instead he was basically naked, his side of the room was a mess of his luggage, and theo had been sitting on their bed when they came in. he was already off to a great start. "oh, uh, i'm theodore by the way." he dropped the clothes he was trying to change into as he stepped forward and held a hand out to the other man. "but everyone just calls me theo. it's... nice to meet you."

jack grew up somewhat distant from the karofsky family. not out of family tensions or some kind of fallout - his father moved the family to ann arbor early in his childhood for job opportunities, denying jack the chance to grow alongside with his extended family. he'd always been a quiet kid, one who avoided mirrors and did his best to never step out of line. his father - the black sheep of his own family - after all, told him in his usual stern, strict voice that one day he would understand why. for the rest of his life, jack would toil, lose sleep over, and agonize over why. and then it makes sense. he's a lowercase. it's something jack grapples with, heavily. is this fate, unmovable and cold and cruel to his autonomy? for awhile, it is something jack contests quietly, still never voicing it aloud. but, time and time again, everything affirms that he is, indeed, a lowercase submissive. things never really fall into place for jack, though. he trails any semblance of chemistry for a shot at the future, but just as quickly as the wisps and winds come they dissipate so easily. so he focuses on his career. one thing leads to another, and he becomes a dei hire as a submissive hire in a venture firm. the work is fine and menial, but one thing has become clear and apparent: the Dominants at the firm want him to embrace his role more as a submissive. they see him as an asset to the firm, but just as much they see him needing to embrace being a submissive with full arms. his family, too, continues to misunderstand jack. and perhaps, to him too, he is not where he wants to be in life. one 2am conversation became three, then twenty-seven, and jack found himself back at a re-education institute. dalton. for the first time, he's open to fully embracing this experience with renowned clarity.
