Appetite was a fickle friend when stress was working overtime. On top of his father's health bringing him to Ohio of all places, it was the daunting unknown of what the future could bring. Or, in this case, not bring. Not knowing if he would be able to return to the best thing he had succeeded in life all because he was unable to land a claim was taxing on every nerve ending. Which, of course, had an effect on his appetite.
After barely eating the previous day with moving into his room and coming to the realization his ex situationship, or whatever the hell they were, was right across the hall from him - Kurt had taken to hide out in his room and dive into future draw up plans to bring back to Isabelle with a silent pep talk about how failure to meet the requirements asked of him were not an option on the table.
He was going to succeed here. He was going to do what was asked of him. And he was also going to pass out after staring at his drawing pad until the sun had disappeared behind the clouds that lulled Kurt into a fatigued slump only the rumbling of thunder could shake him awake from hours later in the wee hours of the morning.
Logically, he could've rolled over in bed and gone back to sleep, seeing as the thunderstorms and rain easily relaxed him on the best days. But something about the pattering of rain against his windows reminded him that he wasn't in New York, and couldn't take to hiding out in his room in hopes of change just happening.
Rain or shine, Kurt willed himself to change into something presentable - tight, dark, and stylish - and braved leaving his room with the intention of braving the cafeteria even before breakfast was served. Surely he couldn't be the only one awake, right?
It was his underestimate of how hard the downpour actually was after he made it half-way through campus, drenching him and his clothes to bare bones, and leaving him shivering by the time he actually steps into said cafeteria, dripping water in thick puddles around himself. Looking halfway between a drowned rat and a person, he's shamelessly shedding the sweater at the very least - not knowing or caring if anyone was actually around to see him performing a post-rain strip show. He just knew staying in the wet clothes wasn't acceptable.
