But guys who wanna bet on the chance that he either

A) Always has been an awkward sweet boy, so uncomfortable with the concept of talking to people so he goes to the normally “safe” topic of conversation the weather, that he in his panic got totally wrong.

Or

B) Instead of stating a fact with “It looks like rain” as Pepa thought, maybe it was taken out of context. Come on! Abuela had umbrellas with her to give out, so it would not be far fetched if Bruno comes, sees the umbrellas, looks up and sees the sun and in a error of thought comes to ask “Will it rain?” Which Pepa easily could have heard as “looks like rain.”
