Tom meeting the Dursleys (esp. Petunia) is such an underrated concept in tomarry fics, yet it can be so fucking powerful. Example:
Tom: *realizes that Petunia is alone in the house and his Sherlockian senses are on, picking up her vile character in a second, so he doesn't waist any time to get in, pretending not to know her at first*:
"And you are...? Ah, I see. 'Sister with no powers grows jealous of the sister that has powers, so when the opportunity arises - and sister n2 is murdered and leaves her baby boy behind - the magic-less one thinks of it as a good payback to abuse said boy, so to feel better about her own tedious and completely ordinary existence.' Did I get that right? Of course I did, I always do."
*He makes Petunia levitate with his powers alone.*
*Meanwhile, Harry is shocked and cannot react to what's happening.*
* Tom brings her really close so he can see her terrified expression and glassy eyes*
"Let me tell you something... alright, dear? No one harms Harry like that and gets away with it. Not even me. So why should you be the exception, hmm? Why don't we level the odds?"
*he breaks her neck and she falls dead on the floor of her own kitchen.*

Conclusion: I'm a sucker for the villain defending the hero from other assholes in the story, I always fall for it.
Idc if Tom has killed six ppl, I can forgive him if this scene happens.
