As part of it, I'm really fascinated by Generation Y: no brand loyalty, always digging for more information, more open-minded, more selfish, distrust of large entities.

I genuinely don't trust news sources and that seems to be a common trait among twenty-somethings; distrust everything. 

That being said, I deeply appreciate VICE for restoring some of my faith in journalism.

"How do we solve what feel like are impossible problems?"

In his talk at the recent 99u conference, Tony Schwartz touches upon how to solve problems that seem impossible, problems such as world hunger or poverty.

His solution is to embrace the creative process:

"We stand on the shoulders of what's come before us." Build upon the work thats already been established. Failing to pay attention to what work has already been done is wasteful because chances are, someone had the same questions you do.

"Frustration leads to incubation." Have you ever forgot a word and at some random point, it just pops into your head? By putting that issue to rest, your brain is still working on it while you're not consciously thinking about it! Get frustrated, then let it rest, then come back to it when you're ready.

"Value what is valuable in others" A great team makes for an even greater outcome. Play off of the energy of those around you.

This banana is a pretty good representation of how I feel in a meeting.

My organization, HAMA, is notorious for having long meetings. The 99u.com has some suggestions on how to not make them as miserable:

Only hold a meeting when it is absolutely necessary!

Make a decision and move on! Make sure the meeting has a clear purpose.

Let key decision makers talk amongst one another outside of the meeting so they come up with a general consensus. 

Too much information, inconsistency, and wasteful information make meetings miserable!

Reading an article entitled 10 Tips for Designing Presentations That Don’t Suck: Pt.1 on Design Shack.

My professor gave me a B because my powerpoints are "HORRIBLE"! Which is 100% accurate. This article is fabulous though. Great reference.
