“I literally just went home, Maddy! I won’t do anymore shit to you as long as you don’t even threaten me, okay? I literally have no quarrel with you or Rue since you both combined can’t do shit to me,” He stated and shelled out some cash, ready to pay. “So, are we good?”

“I do know I’m talking to a girl who isn’t as perfect as she portrays herself to be,” Nate explained with a prideful smirk on his lips. His eyes squinted when she assumed that Jughead made him nervous. How can someone with a name like Jughead make him scared? The dude couldn’t even put up a good fight. He was just putting his ego all over that leather gang jacket. “He does not make me nervous,” Nate said with a slightly raised voice. “In fact, he was the one who threatened to have his little gang of his jump me if I didn’t stop being such a dick. Of course, literally no one on the Serpents stands a chance against me, not even Sweet Pea or whatever the hell his name is so, quite frankly, I beat him up because I was annoyed.”

Plus he’d be risking having his whole elaborate plan compromised if he said too much.

Guess why,” He added and crossed his arms, a smug look appearing on his face. He didn’t particularly like Rue, but he also didn’t hate her. He just thought that he should be the one to tell Jules the news since he knew Maddy and any of her friends wouldn’t muster up the courage to say anything. Also because he was still mad at her for rejecting his affections all those days ago.

“You know what, let me stop you there. I’m gonna make it short and simple for you. Rue overdosed. Because of you. Because you left her. Just like I told her you would. The thing that surprised me about all of this, though, is the fact that you came back. So...why did you? I know you’ve got big dreams in the city. Why didn’t you pursue them?”
