I got reminded on TikTok of a deep and weird question to ask people, so I'm curious about your answer.

What's scarier, the ocean or space?

For me, it's space, because with the ocean at least we have a fairly reasonable idea of what is in the ocean - even the parts we can't reach - but with space, we have no idea what's really out there and it's always expanding, so even if we do figure it out, there'll always be new and unknown stuff emerging.

Hmm I would say the ocean for me! I love swimming but the scary part in sinking deep into the depths of it, we don’t know much of what’s down there plus it’s like suffocating when you drown technically? Does that make sense I’m not sure😅 I’ve been driving all night for a solo road trip

Imagine after Joel dies he sees everyone he's lost

Joel…Joel seeing Tess again in like 5 years. Then he sees Sarah, just drops to his knees with her and holds her for a bit. His babygirl he’s in tears at this point and he is so sorry he let Ellie down. then he looks up and there is Henry with Sam and Henry just looks at Joel and goes “hey don’t worry about it man we all lose the battle at one point” then Sarah looks over at him and goes “do i have a sister now?” she smiles at him softly and he holds her for a while he’s like “yeah babygirl, i guess you could say that” he holds her for a while while tears stream down his face “i’m so sorry i couldn’t protect you babygirl” he whispers and Sarah just hugs him tighter. Tess walks up to him and doesn’t hesitate to kiss the shit outta him “i missed you Texas” she saids while her forehead is against his, he just looks at her and goes “i missed you too darlin’” Tess stares at him for a while and goes “did you do it? did you bring her to the firefly’s?” Joel looks at Tess and goes “i couldn’t bring myself to do it, we made it there but they needed to kill her in order to make the cure” he remembers the fight him and Ellie had the night before. Tess just puts her hand on his and goes “don’t you dare put this on yourself, you did what you had to and i would have backed you up if i was there” she said Joel looks at her “why didn’t i marry you when i had the chance” he smiles looking at her. “Joel?!” he hears a familiar voice, he looks up to see Jesse “holy shit Jesse?!” he said walking over to him Joel wrapped his arms around the boy and they hugged for a moment… Joel may be gone but he is in a better place with the people he loves most

Imagine Joel's childhood

Joel had never been a perfect child and he knew it. He grew up in a shifty town in a shifty house, his dad had left when he was 9 and he had never seen him again him and Tommy were 4 years apart and were close as kids. When Joel was younger he had watched his mother cry a lot due to his dad. He would come home drunk every night and yell at his mom. When Joel was 8 his dad had come home late and him and Tommy were playing in their room together, his dad walked into the room and started yelling at them. The boys both stood up and their dad went to hit Tommy but instead Joel ran in front of his baby brother getting hit in the face instead of him, their mother walked in at that moment and started yelling at him for it but he did the same thing to her then got in his car and left. Joel watched his mother sit there on her knees and cry, he walked over and held her “it’s gonna be ok mama” he said and rubbed her back. By the time Joel was 9 his mother had caught his father cheating and told him to leave, Joel stepped up when his father left, he knew he was now the main man of the house so he had to step up. By the time Joel got into high school he had started going out to parties but always came back when his mom needed him home, Joel loved his mother dearly and she knew that as much as he did. He knew Tommy was a handful and she needed as much help as she could get with him so he offered it. By the time Joel was 15 he was dating this girl, he was so in love with her it was amazing He had never felt this before, she made him feel alive and free but the only problem was his mother didn’t like her and he couldn’t understand why. A year later she had come up to him and told him she was pregnant. Joel was scared shitless but he knew he had to stand right by her, he and his girlfriend had gone to his house and they told his mother, his mother was excited but also angry with her son for the age and the woman he decided to have this child with. Joel couldn’t understand why his mother hated her so much until she left him with their year old daughter. Joel had been 17 at this point and was so lucky that his mother was helping him out with Sarah, he thanked her everyday and she just looked at him and said “it’s for all the times you helped me out don’t feel the need to say thank you” and she sent him off to school. When Joel was 18 and Tommy was 14 their mother got sick, she got really sick and Joel dropped out of school to take care of her and also care for Sarah who was now two. He stayed by his mothers side until she died. Joel was 19 and his mother had passed away in their home, Joel had to call the ambulance himself and they took her away. Joel stayed in the hospital with Sarah in his arms for a while until she fully passed then went home, Joel had just put his three year old daughter to bed  and stood on the front porch waiting for Tommy to get home. When Tommy got home he could see the hurt in Joel’s eyes and his heart broke a little “what happened Joel?” He asked already knowing, they walked inside “sit down baby brother” he sighed “no Joel where is she?!” He asked “Tommy i know you’re not stupid, I think you know” Joel said and sat down “how could you let this happen, you were suppose to take care of her and you just let her die!” He yelled, Joel stood up and walked over to Tommy “I did not let her die Tommy, I watched her die and there was not a God damn thing I could do about it, you got that” Joel yelled back and he could hear Sarah crying upstairs “i cannot do this right now Tommy” he said and walked upstairs to go take care of his daughter. He knew he would have to care care of both Tommy and Sarah now and he wasn’t sure if he had the strength to do it without her.
