Leon had always enjoyed going for walks through forests, he enjoyed the smells, the nature, the animals, and the sense of nostalgia it gave him. They reminded him of Joey in a way, as they could be both beautiful and deadly under the right conditions. It was almost ironic that he once again stumbled onto the small brunette. Not wanting to disturb her he leaned against one of the nearby trees and stayed silent for a few moments. “What, you’ve taken up having conversations with butterflies now? Always knew you were a secret softie.”

Like everyone, the phoenix had her weaknesses, the small things that made the world a little bit brighter. For her it varied between the various wonders of the world, all connected back to the beauty of nature, the innocence of the planet. So with a dog disappearing into the nearby lake, Joey allowed herself to be distracted by the rare blue butterflies, fluttering around so freely and seemingly happy, lost in the moment as a flock of them danced up the length of her arm. She hardly made out the sound of nearing footsteps as Leon stepped into sight, peering over from the corner of her eye. "What can I say? They intrigue me far more than anyone with words does." she teased, her mood improved from the night they first ran into each other. "I wouldn't go that far, softie is a bit harsh. Wouldn't you say?"

After everything that had been happening recently, all Scarlett wanted to do was get out of town. The forests of the island seemed to really help Hugo so she figured she’d give it a shot. The quite serenity of the world around her was calming. Hearing someone else’s voice, she followed the sound.  Scar kept her distance allowing the other to have her moment. Seeing the glorious blue of the creature, her curiosity pulled her forward. “He’s beautiful.” She whispered trying to scare the girl or the butterfly. 

The brunette's gaze lingered on the bright blue butterfly for a little while longer, the smile never leaving until she overheard a shuffling in the distance. Not making much of it, the phoenix assumed it to be Hades being his usual nosy self. "Do you never-" she began, words filled with amusement, an almost laughter slipping out until the sound of someone else's voice cut her off causing the butterfly to flutter away and her posture to straighten. "He sure is, don't know how he managed to survive the drastic changes of weather but I guess it's the small miracles that make this place a little more bearable." She spoke calmly, though her guard was up, Joey had no desire to taint her afternoon of tranquility.

"Didn't say you were," scoffing, the brunette rolled her eyes in a playful manner. "Haven't we all? One doesn't live as long as we have without going through a little hell first. She is, kind of inspires me to be a better person, don’t know how long that’ll last.” she shrugged, glancing up. “How have you been though?”

Rayvn flinched at her words, his hands fall down at his sides. She was right, but he couldn’t leave her here alone. “No, I’m not going to end you.” He dropped down on the ground and sighed. “What is going on?”

Joey's cheek brushed up against the dirt, hands tangling into the dogs fur has he came to her side. "It's not going to go away, it's meant to last for months, or more." She whispered, no longer able to keep her harshness as her words now filled with desperation. "Do you have a knife on you?"

"That's becoming more and more tempting with each passing day, admittedly. I ran into my father, a couple of times, and I can't get rid of the feeling of rage I get every time he's around and I need to blow off some steam before I do something I may or may not regret." Admittedly, Joey wasn't sure if she would regret it, but there was still a small part of that realized she might.

“When did you realize that he was a scumbag?” he asked, an eyebrow raised at the mention of Rayvn. “I cannot come to believe that the daughter of Rayvn cares about anything at all, and certainly not about the lives of other phoenixes.” he said bitterly.

"The day he burned my village down," she scoffed, head tilting to the side with a shrug. "You know very little about me, so that's to be expected, perhaps you're the one that should be ended with how miserable you are."

"Calming down is the first step, take a deep breath," she told him cautiously, shaking her head. "What did you see? While you were dead?"

“Yes, I know but - ” Dean struggled to come up with the words to explain what he meant. “I mean, by that definition you were trapped in the world you know? Like you don’t have the ability to fly out into space at will so it never mattered. You knew your limits and you were free within it. I guess in my mind this island is the limit for me because I grew up with the knowledge that I cannot leave.” He took a deep breath, turning slightly red as he realized how much he was talking. “Sorry I didn’t mean to bore you.” he mumbled apologetically. “I wish i knew a way to get out, I’m sorry. What? You wish that was - why?”

"But maybe with time, I would've had the ability to fly out into space at will, now we'll never know. I guess, but you're also not immortal from what I gather and this place is going to get boring after a few centuries, you know? But hopefully someone figures out a way out sooner rather than later." she shrugged. "Not boring, as long as the conversation doesn't turn into something deeper than this, I won't fall asleep on you." Joey teased softly, arching an eyebrow. "Someday it'll happen, it can't stay this way forever surely. I don't know, living becomes boring after so long, it would be nice to at least have the option."
