YOU LOVE TO SEE TWO BISEXIES VIBIN…. LEGENDS
“but that’s life. one minute you’re on top of the world, the next minute some secretary is running you over with a lawn mower.”
Lord of the Rings ending except it’s Willy Wonka. Frodo throws the one ring in the lava, and Sauron comes out and says you did it my boy and then he gives Mordor to Frodo.
“So Matilda’s strong young mind continued to grow, nurtured by the voices of all those authors who had sent their books out into the world like ships on the sea. These books gave Matilda a hopeful and comforting message: You are not alone.”
— Matilda by Roald Dahl
Roald Dahl characters illustrated by Quentin Blake. Like many many other children, I grew up with these books. I think I’ve read them all. Blake’s illustrations always seem casually, hastily scribbled on a napkin, but their structures are rock solid, with the characters’ poses and expressions clear and easy to read. Their rough precision carries just the right amount of visual information, leaving enough room for your own imagination.
The first time I heard of Roald Dahl was when my brother read THE FANTASTIC MR. FOX. He seemed so grown-up suddenly, my brother, so adult. Here he was—READING A BOOK.
