So only two out of the three Tennessee representatives who protested gun violence were actually expelled from the state legislature… bet you can’t guess which two…!
Shocking!
But what is actually shocking is that these two democratically-elected representatives each have about 78,000 constituents whose voices have now been silenced by extremist Republicans who think that they don’t deserve a say in their own state legislature. That is not democracy!

Hear it from the representatives themselves:
Justin Pearson speaks out on the right to protest
Justin Jones responds to his expulsion, calling out the other legislators who have not been expelled for doing actual crimes
When Representative Gloria Johnson was asked why she thinks she wasn't expelled and they were, she says "probably the color of our skin".
I should add the other two were like quite a few votes over the minimum requirements to expell them. She was safe by only one vote.
Justin Pearson is the man that wore traditional formal wear of West Africa when he was sworn in.
Justin Jones represented district 52 in the Tennessee House of representatives which has 72,718 people.
Justin Pearson represents district 86 which has 63,660 people.
Which means removal stripped 136,378 people of their democratically elected representatives.
