"Hmm, I think that's just...weird to assume from someone, you know?" She cocked her head to the side and looked at the person who had been trying to get her number. "Just because I'm single doesn't mean I want to date, especially someone who looks like he peaked in high school." "Okay, but do you want to tell me what all that was about?" He asked and nodded towards the person that Waverly had just been talking to. "Do you need me to handle it?"
Cressida stood near the edge of the bar, her gaze drifting over the crowd as if she were searching for something more interesting than polite conversation. A faint, knowing smile touched her lips as she lifted her glass, clearly entertained by something no one else seemed to notice.
She glanced toward the nearest person, tilting her head slightly. "Tell me, is it always this dull here, or did I just arrive at the worst possible moment?" @ggstarterblog
"Probably a mix of both, if I'm being honest." John B looked at Cressida. "Though, I do tend to work and try to stay off of Gossip Girl's radar."

Madeline sat alone at a table, sipping her coffee after helping out at one of her family's bakeries. She'd come there when she missed the quiet life with her aunt in Tuscany and wanted to prove to her parents she'd really changed. It's exactly one year since she ran away when her scandal broke out. Faking pregnancy to keep a man. Real low, Maddie.
A group of girls at the nearby table started laughing loudly, their eyes fixed on her as they made snide comments and mocked her. She met their stares with a fake, sarcastic smile that quickly turned into a sharp glare but their words kept coming. Lowering her head, she curled her hand into a tight fist on the table, flames peeking faintly through her knuckles as anger and frustration rose inside her. Don't let it win. Breathe, Maddie, breathe.
Then she felt someone sit down across from her. "If you're here to talk smack to me, get the hell out." She raised her head to look at them and realized it was someone she knew. "Oh, it's just you. I'm sorry, I'm having a bad day. To what do I owe the pleasure?" She took a slow breath, unfurling her fist completely and letting the fire fade away. "You hungry? I could get you something, on the house." @ggstarterblog
"I'm not hungry, but thanks." John B said. "Honestly, I just needed to sit and they were looking at me like I was going to cheat on Sarah with them, so you became a safer option."
"It was fun when my sister posted rumors about people and so on back home, but... " John paused, shook his head "This Gossip Girl seems to be on another level. What's her deal? Does she want to destroy people's life because she thinks it's fun or what? I don't get it"

"Yes, that is very much Gossip Girl's goal. She will say whatever she wants, whenever she wants. She hosts parties every month and she'll also put out someone's secret, not caring how it will impact someone."

"To be fair, she just writes whatever she wants to." He said with a shrug. "There's really not much to understand about her."
Sarah looked at her husband and sighed. "I feel like it is my fault, John B." She ran a hand through her hair and leaned into her husband. "It's just...he stepped in front of that...." She trailed off and looked down.
"I know Sarah, but it's not." He promised her. "What he did, that was his own choice. Serisouly Sarah, he sacraficed himself to save you. None of it is your fault."
Xaden nodded as he listened to John B. "It could be worse." He shrugged. "At least you're out here and you can...talk to people. It could always be worse."
"Can you not talk to people? Is that not a thing where you're from?"
"Well, NFL players don't get paid like celebrities do; much of it comes from what we invest in." He said with a chuckle. "I know how to invest, though, so yes, Frankie and I are set for life."
"That's fucking dumb, no offense to you, but why doesn't the NFL just pay the people that work for them?"
It had been a few weeks since her secret had been revelaed and honesstly, she didn't care. She felt more free than she had in a long time. She was sitting at a cafe and reading a book when someone came up to her and sat down across from her. "Uh, hi." She said and looked at them. "How are you?" @ggstarterblog
He sat down across from his wife and said, "I'm doing great, but I am worried about you, Sarah. You know Ward's death wasn't your fault, right?"
"People keep asking me if I'll be going back to the NFL anytime soon and they get really mad when I tell them that I won't and act like I ruined their life because of it. It is truly wild." @ggstarterblog
"I think that's so cool that you used to play for the NFL, but if you had a bad injury, I wouldn't go back either. I know you and Mrs. Barnes are probably set for life."
"Does it though?" She raised a brow. "Come on John B, let's go get you some better coffee that won't wear off after two hours."
"Not really, but I can try to chug this swill, can't I?" John B chuckled, though he had already put the cup down. "Lead the way."
Sarah smiled and took in a deep breath and then exhaled. "I love you too, John B." She looked up at him and smiled more. "Thank you for being understanding. I never want to take any anger out on you, Kie, Cleo, JJ or Pope. That wouldn't be right to anyone."
"You're very welcome, Sarah Routledge." He winked. "I know you don't, but don't forget, we're all human, we're going to have fights some times."
