Lowest Moments
Why is it that my greatest ideas come only when I’m at my lowest?
Why do I have to be suffering anxiety that derails me completly, just to come up with an amazing start to a new poem?
Why do I have to be shaking and slowly suffocating, with tears streaming down my face, to finally finish the last line of a verse i tried desperately to conclude?
Why when I want to scream until my voice disappears, yet I can’t even make a sound, do I uncover the vision I hopelessly searched for?
I think I know now.
When your mind is deteriorating, And your heart is ripped to pieces, That’s when you’re really thinking, Yet not a logical thought runs through your mind. They say that you’re really you when you’re happy, but I don’t believe that. You’re really you when you’re crippling under the weight of your own life. Only then are you the purest version of yourself. That’s when your mind races out of your control.
Maybe that’s why I have my greatest ideas when things are going wrong.
Because only then is everything so clear, yet so vague.
