Hello mister whale shark. How are you today?
team mysterious leg bruise
What do you think about the claim, “if honey is left in their hives it will ferment and as a result it will begin making the bees very sick.” ?
It depends which context this is being used in, but both possible options are pretty easily dismissed. If it is referring to wild hives, these are animals who have been successfully managing their own hives and their own production for millions of years without us, they don’t suddenly require human intervention to keep doing so, and the idea that they do is blatantly self serving. If it’s referring to managed hives, then it’s humane who have built the artificial enclosure they are kept in, therefore this is a human issue. They’re designed to produce as much honey as possible, then we use the fact of overproduction as a means of justifying our continued exploitation of them, which is pretty transparent.
Arguments like this one are part of this widespread mythology that animals need to be “saved” from their state or nature by human intervention, because we’re just so wise and know so much better than they do. It’s always just coincidentally convenient that what is “best for animals” is also what is most profitable for us.
Additionally, Imagine if there was a simple way to build a thick forcefield around the Earth against the comet.
But because it interferes with temporary pleasure, individuals of the working class oppose it vehemently.
Choosing instead to focus on how one individual would not make a difference, while conveniently forgetting it is the collection of a hundred thousand individuals that turn the tide.
We all focus on the short term problems and ignore the longterm consequences- Extinction.
That's talking about Animal Agriculture's effect on climate change.

Some of y’all really can’t tell the difference between anthropomorphism and acknowledging the sentience and intelligence of nonhuman animals and it really fucking shows.Â
Masterpost.

A guy at work that I don't know super well came up unprovoked and joke slow-mo moved like he was going to punch me. I was busy (y'know, working) and when I didn't react to him, he was like "What if I did this?"
For some visuals, I'm 5'6" and average. He's 6'3" pushing 280. I was sitting and he was standing. It would have been no contest.
And after a moment of him waiting with his dumb fist inches from my face, I told him I'd block it and punch him in the kidney. And he got??? Kinda mad at me??? "That's not very nice; I have kidney problems. I'd probably collapse if you punched one."
When I told him he shouldn't assault people if he couldn't take a hit back, he pouted and slumped off. This was all hypothetical and he got so upset. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK???? WHY IS THIS GROWN MAN ACTING LIKE A TODDLER???
This is just The Magnus Institute.
Nope.
They have a gas-based firefighting system instead of sprinklers for obvious reasons. It does lower the percentage of oxygen in the building, but not enough to kill anyone.
I found this by googling “Yale library fire oxygen.” It was literally the first result.
Fact-checking is your friend.
It’s true. It’s not the fire suppression system that kills you. The Librarians come and personally murder you for starting a fire in a library. But you didn’t start a fire you say? No matter. You are collateral damage. Everybody gets killed to show that arsonists have no chance of escaping justice
Well, this is relevant
Piccolo: I didn't understand why people care so much for their dumb friends until I got a dumb friend myself.
[picks kid Gohan up]
Piccolo: I've only befriended Gohan for a day and a half.
Piccolo: But if anything happened to him, I would kill everyone on this planet and myself.
