Love that Margaret has a potential, new love interest, and wants to bestow him with the gift of a big, pink sweater. Isn't it also nice how what starts out as a potholder grows? That it begins as a small thing for only one person, and it ends up as a blanket - something that can give warmth to several people at once. Nice little metaphor for how Margaret's own warmth grows through the seasons, or how she becomes more and more unafraid to show it, and let everyone know it's there. I also like that it's pink. Hawkeye longs for cheery red, anti green, and pink is right there with red on the opposite side of the color wheel. Margaret's pink yarn gives us a little suggestion that maybe she craves anti green too, that she is (subconsciously maybe) re-evaluating everything she took for truth about the military and her role in it. Neat little details.
