The Noland Trail, 2nd Edition
About 2 years ago I created the first edition, unofficial map of the Noland Trail. It was side project of mine to create an all inclusive complete map of the park and trail. I threw a ton of information on the first one, probably too much and it had many ‘GIS-y’ type elements that were lost on the casual map viewer. With this second edition, I wanted to strip away the bulkiness of the original, maintain a high level of detail, and improve the original design.
The second edition uses data I collected and open-sourced, and topographic data from OpenTopography.org . The map is available for purchase, along with the 1st edition at my society 6 shop.

It’s been a few years since my last musician themed map and it’s no secret that i am a big Jenny Lewis fan. Her latest album, The Voyager, came out last summer and it’s still in my regular rotation.
The basic inspiration for this map/project came from this promo shot, did some scraping of tour dates from various places, and heavy use of rainbow colors from her trademark rainbow suit.
I’ve made this available as a print at my Society 6 store and is a natural fit at 17x22, but will look great at any printed size!
ps. might make a mapbox basemap from this, maybe.
Weekend Update 2.0
Last February, I released a tile-set based on the background map featured on Weekend Update. To celebrate SNL 40, I’ve created a total of 6 tile-sets styled after various years of background maps on Weekend Update. And if you’re so inclined the tiles are free to use and can be downloaded or forked over on GitHub.
As a bonus, with the help of my friend, Chris Bupp, you can explore the different tile-sets with a neat Leaflet application. So, go crazy and flip through the channels!

House Hunters
Tiles Styled After The Maps Featured On HGTV's "House Hunters" Show. Powered By Mapbox Studio.
A roomy tile-set with great neighborhood views and in your price range (free!) house-hunters is available at all scales but works best between zoom levels 12-15. It's not a perfect match to the maps featured on the show, but it's designed in the same style with a great focus on neighborhoods.
The sample mapbox.js app features some fictional house locations with 'push-pins' around Barcelona, Spain.

Spooky Mapping Super Post!
I've been able to get creative with some ghostly good mapping this Halloween season. Here are some ghoulish maps to get you in the spirit.
Savannah's Most Haunted Places: A co-worker of mine, Kelly, took some awesome pictures of Savannah, Ga's local haunts. With minimal help from me she used StoryMap.Js to create a hauntingly good story-map. Check the two part story out on my company's blog and see how she did it. Part 1 & Part 2
A Dammed Good Map-O-Lantern: Another co-worker of mine, Chris, created this freaky instruction for making a #mapolantern with host of open-source technologies. See how he did it and make/share your own here: Damn Good
Haunted Tour of Birmingham - Last Halloween, i helped a co-worker of mine, Rachel, with some custom creepy basemaps for her Esri Story Map project. See her two part tutorial and process on our company's blog. Part 1 & Part 2
Haunted Hampton Roads - As part of a #maptime lesson, I created an intermediate step by step for making an open-source map of haunted locations in my hometown. The live application features a scrollable tutorial with lots-o-links and samples. Check it out -> Haunted HRVA
Extra Credit: Open Source Lab Mapzen created a set of spooky map-tiles from open street map data. It's a graveyard smash!
