Here's a trio of images from a new personal project I'm working on.
First up, someone patiently cut away this bowl shape to reveal a classic pair of Ammonites. They're around 190 million years old and were found in Charmouth, UK.
I've been fossil hunting at Charmouth, and believe me, you don't find Ammonites this stunning just lying on the beach.
Next are a pair of beautifully preserved starfish. Also 190 million years old and found on Dorset's Jurassic coast at Lyme Regis.
Lastly, a 385 million year old Devonian Trilobite from Morocco. The eye detail still visible is just stunning with the individual corneas on its huge eyes preserved.
Hopefully, this is the start of an ongoing project. Although sourcing specimens that look this good is not cheap, I think the results so far have been worth it.
