hi, I was wondering if you have any advice for an aspiring illustrator? My family is worried about job security in the field, and im questioning if art school is the right choice. I love seeing your work!

As far as job security goes, starting out as an illustrator can be a little rough. I certainly had a few periods of unemployment early in my career, but I think that can be true of most professions. The important thing as an artist is to use that time to improve and develop your personal style. As your art gets better it becomes easier to find work.

Other general advice for aspiring artists:

Draw every day.

Try to learn as much as possible about things like architecture, plants, animals, industrial design, fashion, etc.

Travel as much as possible.
