please make sure that wherever you’re at in life, you don’t treat it like a transitory period. don’t waste your college years wishing to already be graduated & have a job. don’t waste your single years wishing for someone to be in love with. if/when those things come, they will come in due time and they will be good. but there is nothing like looking back and feeling empty because you wasted literal years ignoring what you had because you were hoping for something better. while it’s important to better yourself and reach for your goals, don’t neglect the present because that’s where you are now and it’s your now that determines your future.

Don’t post here much any more, but I have a lot of ~engaged~ thoughts that I mainly don’t want to annoy anyone else with.
First one of those: while shopping, do I really like this white dress or do I just want to fill my closet with white dresses for wedding festivities?
The real glo up is when you stop waiting to turn into some perfect hypothetical version of yourself and consciously enjoy being who you are in the present moment.
Every positive change in your life begins with a clear, unequivocal decision that you are going to either do something or stop doing something.

i’m pretty sure “cats and humans can never have a bond as strong as a dog and a human” is just code for “i’ve never even tried to treat a cat correctly in my life”
You should tell people how important they are to you. Not because they could leave at any moment, but because they’re here now, and it’s worth saying something.
An authentic and genuine life grows like a sturdy tree. And like a tree, it grows slowly. Every time you make a different and better decision, it grows a little. Every time you choose to do the right thing, even when nobody would find out otherwise, it grows a little. Every time you act with compassion, relinquish your right to strike back, take a courageous stand, admit fault or accept responsibility, it grows a little.

Today was magical and filled with leis, flowers, açaí and the best papaya I’ve had so far.
Pretty into this green juice life 🌱
Took a break from yoga last week and upped my calories and I feel so rejuvenated and motivated this week. I have been putting way too much pressure on myself. To lose X pounds by the wedding. Y pounds by the end of the year. But honestly, if I'm putting good foods in my body and being active, I'll be okay. And I need to remember that.
If you live in the US, you should not be freaking out about nuclear war with North Korea in a “we’re all going to die” way. DPRK has one rocket that can reach the continental US, it’s barely gotten functional, and they have no warheads small enough to be carried by that rocket. They can theoretically hit Hawaii and Alaska, but Hawaii is a small, long-range target and Alaska has very low population density, so attacks there would likely be ineffective.
That’s not to say that you shouldn’t be freaking out about nuclear war with North Korea. It’s to say that you should stop being so fucking self-centered about it.
We’re not going to die. If we nuke North Korea, we’ll wipe out thousands of noncombatants, just like we did in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Even in an “ideal” outcome for that first strike, where Kim goes down immediately, his military apparatus will retaliate — against South Korea and probably Japan. This hypothetical nuclear exchange will kill millions of civilians who, surprise surprise, live far away and look sort of not-European. Then we’ll spend the rest of our long, non-incinerated lives bickering with each other over whether it was cool of us to start that fight.
If you want to speak out against Trump’s nuclear bullshittery, don’t bleat “we’re all going to die.” Yell “no atrocities in our name.”
I get this... but I also live in Hawaii and am simultaneously pretty terrified.
I was pretty into this lunch the other day. Pearl couscous salad with asparagus, lemon and Parmesan along with lemon herbed chicken thighs 😋
