I wish I was a bird Unafraid to soar Yet when trouble lay below I could fly away from harm

I wish I was of stone Cold and strong and still A steady rest for those in need Yet unable to feel

‘Cause tears they hurt As broken glass And hearts break just as well All these things a mockery They watched me as I fell And there’s no one here That I can blame But myself

I wish I was a song Dancing on the wind Blown away from care or hurt And forgotten in the end

I wish I was the rain Falling from the sky Indifferent to the silent tears And unable to cry
