I'm still learning what the opposite of carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders (or ther emotion thereof) feels like. I'm realizing that when those feelings creep in; the ones like: If I do it myself it will be better quicker more efficient make me feel more accomplished or (gasp) set me up to play victim to the system. Those feelings are turning into cues which are now becoming triggers for me to remember that ministry, like life, was never meant to be done alone. Jesus didn't do it that way...what makes us think we can? Josh

Something to say

For a long time I was someone who championed the idea that everyone has something to say, everyone has a story and that story matters. That story matters to someone somewhere who is navigating the same waters as you. Even more than that it means that your story matters to God.

Along the way I somehow forgot this truth for myself and my story. I began to believe the lie that my story was insignificant compared to others and that the effort and energy that I once put into sharing what I’m learning and who I am was better suited elsewhere on other things.

If we fix our eyes on the only truly significant thing, Jesus, then what we have to say isn’t just our story; it is His story of grace and redemption played out through us.

working through tomorrow's #worshipset for #woodsidebible All-Staff and being reminded again and again how blessed I am that I GET TO stand in front of my team and lead us in praise and worship. Our God is the god of amazing grace who brings our chaos into order, has redeemed us by his blood, and is worthy of all that we have to give. Tomorrow as our team gathers I'm praying and trusting that we're simply going to respond. Respond to our God, for he has done great and amazing things in our midst! Our only job in this life is response...
