#a sweet, injured boy
benxedd:
The vague response from the other was one that he truly was really confused about, and a part of him was worried. He wondered if he’d thought the same thing he had? Though despite the ideas he came up with, in no way were they legitimate. Waiting a little longer for the other to explain, though when he didn’t, Ben chose to speak up. “Are you going to share those ideas?” He asked, almost sarcastically, though really, he wanted to know what was going on in his mind.
Although he would like to believe that he was someone who could take what he dished, there were times when he got easily aggravated by other people. In fact, there really wasn’t a time where he wasn’t aggravated by someone.
“Infiltration, dumbass,” he lets out, not meaning to take a jab at his intelligence by any means, just expressing his annoyance. “Just like we’ve been talking about. I want someone smart--and I’d prefer they don’t backstab us--and they need to get into their side, and get us info--!” He stops, realizing he’s beginning to grow louder.
After a beat, he finally goes on, “I want someone ready for war. More specifically, I want someone ready to win a war.”
garrettmiller:
“That American dream’s shit. Ever seen anyone happy with a white picket fence?” Honestly, he just wasn’t the type to truly settle down.
“Yeah, wouldn’t you be fuckin’ upset over your kid getting shot?” God was Joshua really this much of a dumbass? No wonder why Garrett had to go his own way. “You know what, I’m gonna walk away becore I wipe that smirk right off your face. I know you can’t take a punch, don’t wanna leave you bleeding helpless on the ground or anything.”
Even though Garrett Miller was quite possibly the last person on Earth he wanted to talk to... he could do this all day. Of course, behind that tough exterior he wore he had his questions. He wanted to know why things had to be the way they were. But at the same time, he knew the answer. And he didn’t want to waste any more time worrying about past occurrences.
“Exactly,” he says with a shrug, part of him glad to see at least a shred of human decency left inside the man. “Okay, can’t say I’m surprised. You always were a runner,” he says with that same, shit-eating grin he always wore.
“Some things never change.”

Showing up at Ignition with a large black eye and a severely bruised cheekbone, there wasn’t much hiding the fact that he’d been in a fight and very recently. As he walked onto the garage limits, some of the members started whistling and howling. A fun little tease about the look of his face, he waved his hand as if promoting a movie with a small smile, while rolling his eyes. He walked towards the the office in order to see Joshua. He opened the door and greeted, “Hey,” He spoke knowing very well he was expecting a comment or an explanation for his large, deep purple bruise.
@joshuasroyal
Joshua may have been the boss, but that didn’t mean he was fully in control of his people, and what they decided to do. He had caught wind of the little spat that little Benjamin had gotten himself into. He wasn’t very surprised, which was nice for much. They both had had it coming. Let’s just say, he didn’t totally feel bad knowing Ben got a little slap in the face.
“Hey,” he replies, much more chipper than usual. He was doing his best not to grin, and thankfully, things were going his way.
“So, what’s new?”
eleanor--blackwood:
Eleanor turned feeling a bit embarrassed that she had been overheard. She normally had it so together, so when she didn’t it was rare. Of course when it happened it was in front of Joshua Krongold, who she mostly knew through her father. That was a whole other situation, but the man had always been nice to her. “ My ride is not here and I have to lug around this thing” Eleanor replied indicating her cello in it’s case. “Should have picked a smaller instrument. “ She smiled. “ How are you?”
Again, the man looks between Eleanor and the instrument a few times, shifting his weight from one foot to the other. He knew the girl--no--he knew of the girl. Truly, he knew very little about her. What he did know, was that those instruments could be heavy. “I’m fine. Business, as usual. You know?” He attempts to joke, glancing at his phone and pressing a few buttons before turning his attention back to her.
“Want a ride? I can call you a car,” he tells her, looking right back to his phone, absentmindedly pressing different buttons again. “Don’t worry, you don’t have to ride with me. I can get you your own, so you don’t need to end up crushed by that thing.”
ferahdemir:
“I’m surprised anyone would dare fight with you.” Ferah said with a rise of her brow. He was the top dog as far as she was concerned and he didn’t seem like the type who would take shit from anyone beneath him.
“That’s good to know.” She said with a small smirk. “I tend to put up a fight regardless. I’m small but scrappy.”
Joshua had quite the ego on him. Not one person needed to waste their time to inflate it, as he did a pretty good job of that all on his own. He knew who he was, and he saw himself as undeniably handsome, cunning and unstoppable.
“Small and scrappy, both very good qualities to have, actually. You can get in those smaller spaces a lot better, and you’re a lot of fun to watch,” he tries to muse. He had never been one for chit chat, especially with someone associated with that mayor who loved him oh so much.
“I thought you guys would have little assistants to go carry out your duties, or something. What’s got you out on your own with...” he trails off, looking around, “no protection? Ooh, how ballsy of you.”
When science shits the bed, I’m the guy they call to change the sheets.
sarahkrongcld:
“Let me help you with that,” The smooth, suggestive line exiting her kissed lips, Sarah gave Joshua a flrtatious smirk before fulling facing his way. Within a matter of seconds, she made her way on top of his lap and was now straddling him on the kitchen chair. The Krongold mother knew how her husband worked and the best way to distract him was using her body and arousal for him. As his arms hung around her waist, she was quick to wrap her arms around his neck before feeling her smirk run off her face. “The attempt to make this subject a joke isn’t that cute, hon. What happened between you two this time?”
As soon as she was in his lap, Joshua wastes no time in pulling her as close as he can, resting his head on her shoulder. He loved being able to be so vulnerable with someone. He could tell her anything, and always be met with support. She was his best friend, he really would be lost without her.
There was no better way to ruin a moment, then to bring up his struggles with Chris. He had let their relationship fall between the cracks, and he knew that, as did Sarah. But it was frustrating trying to even have a civil relationship with the kid, since Chris wanted nothing to do to him. “Every time I try to talk to him, he gets pissed off at me,” he slowly peels himself from her, so he can look her in the eye. “I try to check in on him, make sure he’s doing alright, and he turns it into an argument! I can’t even ask him if he needs anything without him telling me to fuck off.”
dilanosman:
Dilan peered at the male and shook her head when he asked if there was something that he could do to help out. As of right now, she didn’t need his help but his power and name could probably open a lot of doors for her in the future should she need them.
“No, nothing right now but I’ll be sure to come to you if that changes.”
“That’s what I like to hear,” he replies with the smallest of grins, nodding her way. It was comforting to know that things may be looking up around here, soon.
“Keep up the good work.”
joshuasroyal:
This woman either didn’t know what she was getting into, or she knew exactly what she was doing. Either way, she was stupid. He was all for powerful women, he really was. But for someone, anyone to walk in on his turf and behave like that, really wasn’t acceptable.
“Yeah, yeah, I’m sure you will.”
“We’ll see,” she said with a snort as she waved her hand behind her head. Peering around, she winked at a nearby car who was instructed to tail the male. Whether he’d noticed or not, she truthfully didn’t care. Maybe he’d have more to say if he knew she had put a tail on him.
“Have a good day,” she ended before walking away.
grace-callaghan:
“You sure — because it could just end up being the good luck charm you never knew you needed..“ Grace countered in jest, her attempts to palm off the gifted object falling flat as she retracted her arm, eyeing the beads once more before depositing them on the park bench. Surely someone in need of some divine intervention would put them to good use. Grace had very quickly learned that any such religion was a waste of time. Praying never saved her from her mothers alcoholic fits of rage. “Unless you’re some kind of magician or alien at best, I do doubt that. Still, didn’t take you for being the superstitious type Mr Krongold.”
You sure --- because it could just end up being the good luck charm you never knew you needed.
This makes Joshua tilt his head, looking to the girl curiously. He had given up on his beliefs years ago. He couldn’t allow himself to believe in anything, with the world they lived in being so corrupt; especially with how corrupt of a life she lived.
“Alien? I kind of like that. But unfortunately, I’m not one of those guys,” he lets out an over dramatized, sad sigh. “Oh, you’ve got me there. I’m more of a realist, if I say so myself.”
raycvans:
He nodded at Joshua, “Alright, boss. I can do that,” Though he wasn’t the most prepared guy in the world, he could do pretty much anything asked of him at the drop of a hat. “Just tell me when and where and I’ll be there.”
Joshua nodded his head, glad to know he had such a loyal ally, on his team. With past inconveniences, he was constantly under suspicion, wondering whether or not who was all in it, for the Royals. So he was glad to be able to put his trust in Ray.
“I’ll be in touch, soon.”
jenna-alcott:
⁂
“I think that everyday.” Jenna teased him, though really she was lucky to have such a good relationship with Sarah’s husband. The Krongold’s really had become like family to her, and there wasn’t a day that passed that she didn’t cherish them.
As he averted his gaze from hers, Jenna crossed her arms over her chest, taking this moment to say something that had been on her mind for a while. “You know, if you gave me a bit more responsibility, I could look out for my own son.” She said pointedly, she’d always felt like she could do more than being just a thief. Even if she was one of the best.
“Carson’s still out of town, hey? Must be hard without your right hand man around.”
The Alcott family had been affiliated with the Royals for years, now. Joshua couldn’t remember a time he hadn’t known the family. However, in recent years, he had been wishing he hadn’t. Things went wrong all the time, it was a shame it had to happen to someone so close.
Joshua knew the fear all to well when it came to having your children out in the public, where they could fall to harm. Though, he couldn’t imagine it as a mother. Jenna put up a pretty strong front, but she had been through a lot. She of all people didn’t deserve to fear for her children’s lives. “What have you been up to, lately?” He asks.
“He is, yeah. What a dumbass,” he rolls his eyes. He loved the guy, he really did. But he was missing Carson right now. “I swear, the next time he needs me for something, I’m leaving the country.”
garrettmiller:
“I’ve never had a wife, who the fuck do you think I am?” Sure he had a steady girl in his life but that was over and done with thanks to Joshua snitching no less. “See, you gotta try to at least hit me where it hurts. At least talk about something that I care about.”
Garrett looked around him for a moment, realizing that Josh was still talking to him. “Who the fuck you callin’ kid, old man? You didn’t do shit to me. If anythin’ I’m the reason why everything of yours is falling to shit.”
“You could’ve,” he retorts. “The American Dream, you know? Wife, kids, the happy family bullshit?”
Chuckling once again, he goes on, “I don’t know man, you sounded pretty hurt about Mal’ getting shot. If that didn’t hurt... what does hurt you, bud?” Having once been friends, it wasn’t hard for Joshua to find things to pick at him, about. Even with the years that had passed, it was the little things that hurt the most, right?
For a moment, Joshua watched Garrett, taking him in. It was insane to think that once upon a time, these two were close. Garrett had been his right hand for a period in time. It was a shame that things had to go down, the way they did. But fortunately, it had been for the best.
“Whatever helps you sleep at night.”
ferahdemir:
Ferah couldn’t help but smirk when the male made a comment that made her brow shoot up. “Like I said, I wouldn’t try but if you want to argue with a girl that’s half your age.” She trailed off as she pushed her hands on her hip. “I’m not too keen on having a pissing contest about who can take what from the other.”
“I think I’ll have to pass. I get enough arguing done with work,” he replies, laughing at the thought. As much as the man liked a good fight, he’d had enough for a while, with how often him and Chris got into it.
“I guess it’s a good thing I’m not up for taking anything. Not right now, at least.”
benxedd:
Joshua’s flat reply gave Ben the impression their conversation might have concluded and another topic would start. He finished the last sip of his beer before asking the bartender for another one. Within a minute, a new drink was in front of him. Ben usually didn’t drink this amount, he didn’t like coming home to Emmaline drunk. Recently he didn’t need to worry about that. Hearing Joshua returns to their topic of conversation, he nodded. “Yeah, something like that.” He added distantly, before turning his head to see the look on Joshua’s face, wondering if he’d thought of someone in particular to do the job. “Do you have someone in mind?”
The first handful of people to come to mind, were Jenna and Malcolm. And while the idea was intriguing, he would never ask that of either of them. Sure, they could do it with ease, but he couldn’t force that on them. So that only left a few options. Either they could go with one of their own, someone undercover, or find someone who owes them a big favor. Josh wasn’t shy when it came to getting his way. So if he had to force his hand, and use his power against said person... he’d happily oblige.
“Not someone specifically, no. But I’ve got a few ideas...”
