At Jenna’s residence with @jenna-alcott.
Two large coffees planted in a small carrier and a bag of food in hand, Sarah lifted an occupied hand and knocked on Jenna’s front door. It had been too long since she’s spent time with her best friend, so surprising the beauty with treats seemed like a good idea to the Krongold mother. “Jenna!” She yelled her name after a few moments passed with no answer. Twisting the knob, she opened the door and walked inside, making herself known seconds later. “Surprise, J’! It’s your best friend with free coffee and food. If you have someone over, make them leave because I’m much better company.”
avoiding your family as a practice of self-care

JOSHUA KRONGOLD.
Joshua had never been one to be very emotionally present with other people. He had learned very young, to swallow what he felt, and put on a brave front. And he knew with Sarah, he could let those walls come tumbling down. For this, Joshua would forever be grateful that he had someone as amazing as Sarah, in his life. He would be lost without her.
After the kiss, he smiles to her sadly, looking deeply into her eyes, as if to savor this moment. “I’d love any kind of distraction, actually,” he’s quick to come back, both arms finding their way around her waist.
“I think I made your son mad, by the way. Might need to look into that later to make sure he hasn’t called a hit on me, or something,” he tries to joke, now flashing his teeth.
“Let me help you with that,” The smooth, suggestive line exiting her kissed lips, Sarah gave Joshua a flrtatious smirk before fulling facing his way. Within a matter of seconds, she made her way on top of his lap and was now straddling him on the kitchen chair. The Krongold mother knew how her husband worked and the best way to distract him was using her body and arousal for him. As his arms hung around her waist, she was quick to wrap her arms around his neck before feeling her smirk run off her face. “The attempt to make this subject a joke isn’t that cute, hon. What happened between you two this time?”
“You’re what I love.”

GABRIEL RUSSO.
°
Gabriel smiled as Sarah spoke about what Chris was like as a child. “I think I really need to hear a story about the time you scared him the most.” It was nice to hear that Chris had nice childhood memories. His own childhood had been so difficult but he did remember a few good things about his own mother. He looked at her as she placed her hand on his shoulder, calmed by the simple touch. “I know, I just feel bad. I feel like he needs to get out so he isn’t just thinking about not being at work but I guess maybe I’m a distraction at least.” He shrugged. “But enough about me, how are you? Distract me with interesting things about your life.”
“If you don’t mind, I think I'll save that story for next month,” A light chuckle escaped Sarah’s mouth as she said those words to Gabriel. Summer was coming to an end and with Fall around the corner, so was Halloween. “It’s much easier said than done, but please don’t feel bad anymore, sweetie.” She told him, her tone becoming a little more serious again. “You need to feel rested right now and you’re far from a distraction. You’re the best thing in Chris’s life, please know that.” She believed her words were true without talking it over with Christopher. Their love and happiness together was so evident that the Krongold mother was more than ready to prepare for their future wedding. “Not much is going on with me, unfortunately. The only thing keeping me occupied is my training sessions with other members and prospects. I’ve been training again with Jennifer after years off the mat and I still have yet to ask Chris if he’d like to start training again.”
CAMILLE RODRIGUEZ.
Camille only let her eyes rest on the woman as she formally addressed her, moving her hands onto the surface of the table, crossing her fingers together as she pressed her lips together. “Oh,” she sat up a little as she shook her head. “It was no problem at all. I was only doing the job that Payton hired me on to do.” She told her, it always felt odd when people personally thanked her for doing her job. She bit down on her lower lip as she tilted her head down to look at her hands. “Thank you… I uh… I appreciate that.”
“Still, you did amazing work that will never be forgotten,” Sarah told Camille in a genuine, kind manner before dropping the subject. The last thing she wanted to do was overtalk a subject and make the young woman uncomfortable. “I’m speaking for the members by saying that we’re all glad to have you here with us and a part of our big family.” She added. She was the mother to all Royals, prospects and all. “You’re very welcome. Do you have any questions for me so far or are you taking everything in still?”
JENNIFER KRONGOLD.
Jennifer lifted her eyes up towards her brother who was standing across the room, her lips pressing together as she nodded her head. “It’s okay, we’ll keep an eye on him.” She told her mother as she glanced over at her. She slowly nodded her head at her words, giving her a light smile. “I’m doing fine, mom… You don’t need to worry about me.”
“Always do,” During these past few weeks, Sarah was always keeping an eye on both Chris and Jennifer. They weren’t kept on them too intently, but ever since the shooting, she was seen around them in the same buildings. At the end of the day, she was always protecting her children no matter what. When her daughter spoke of worry, her light grin spread more across her lips. “Honey, I know you’re incredibly strong and independent, but I worry about you all of the time. You’ll learn that when you become a mother one day.” She told her, already knowing she was going to make an incredible mother if she wanted to be one. “You’ve also been doing amazing during our training sessions. Are you wanting another one soon?”
BENJAMIN EDDINGTON.
Hearing Sarah’s suggestions he easily took them to heart, he nodded as he tried to mentally imagine what she was referring to and how he could improve. His eyes watched her intently as she physically described and showed him what to do. When she suggested a visual representation, he shook his head. “No I think I got it.” He replied, and then lifted his fists to protect his face and became ready for her to lunge and when she did, he executed exactly what she’d suggested he do. As his mind focused on the fight, Garrett popped into his head, his anger towards the Devils president and the situation he was in, pushed him to executing her suggestions with a little more force than he’d probably would have otherwise. As he ended with her pinned down without any option for moving, he was so focused and his fist actually prepped to punch her in the face as he would if it had been real. He released any tension in his grip on her and pushed himself back, “Sorry,” He apologized before walking over to his water bottle. “I’m sorry, I just, I’ve got a lot on my mind.” Had he not opened his eyes to see it was Sarah, he knew he would have punched her without hesitation.
Not too long after Sarah lunged Ben’s way, she wasn’t shocked once he started to execute the directions she threw his way. His hold on her was spot on, the way they moved on the mat was graceful, but once her back landed on the ground, the rest of her body crashed a little harder than expected. Noticing the way he put a little more force into the moves made her curious, but it never stopped her from trying to fight back. Curiosity instantly turned into surprise once the Krongold mother spotted his curled fist aimed her way. “Ben,” She said his name in a serious tone to get his attention and when he pushed himself away, worry set into her body. “You have nothing to apologize for.” She told him kindly once she was up on her feet and by his side. Pushing the trainer in her to the side, the friend in her came out to play. “I may be repeating myself a bit, but I’m here if you’d like to talk about anything.” They were members of the same gang, sure, but at the end of the day, they were friends who cared about each other’s wellbeing. “We can take a long break or reschedule this whole session if you’d like. It’s up to you.”
JOSHUA KRONGOLD.
I’m glad you’re here.
Her words are enough to bring a small smile to his face, warming up whatever was left of his heart. Sarah was his better half. He was more than lucky to have her, and he would never forget that. He’d taken her for granted far too many times, it was a miracle he still had her by his side, today. After she offered him the rest of her coffee, those thoughts were just solidified.
“Usual shit,” he says, almost laughing as he runs his hand down his face—his telltale sign of the frustrations he was feeling. “You, the kids… everyone else, obviously,” he shrugs, looking to her through his eyelashes. He wasn’t one to show off his emotions very often, if ever. But with Sarah, he felt safe to be vulnerable.
“You should get an award for how much you carry on those strong shoulders of yours,” Sarah stated before a sigh escaped her lips. On the day she told him I do, she knew she was marrying the future gang president and everything that came with it, the stress of every little thing on his shoulders included. Her eyes never leaving his, she leaned in and pressed a soft, yet meaningful kiss against his lips. Her love for him was out of this world and she needed to remind him any day she could. After pulling away, she let her thumb caress over his kissed lips before giving him another reminder. “Like always, if you need help taking your mind off of things or need a distraction, I’m here for you.”
CHRISTOPHER KRONGOLD.
Hearing his mom actually say that she was coming out of retirement sent a wave of panic through him. ❝Mom, no–❞ It was bad enough that his family in the Royals were in danger enough for being part of the gang, but his mom now, too? Sure, Sarah Krongold was a dangerous assassin in her own right, but she was his mother. Just the thought of something bad happening to her was enough to already cause him hurt. ❝Mom. You don’t have to do this. You don’t have to be back in the game.❞ he pleaded quietly, not wanting her to be in harm’s way, too. ❝Our whole family…❞
“Oh, my sweet boy,” As the anger toward the Devils subsided within her, Sarah’s hands moved from Christopher’s shoulders to each side of his face, caressing his cheeks softly. “I know I don’t have to or want to, but I need to do this.” She stated, her eyes never leaving the beautiful pair she made. “This will be a little hard to hear, but I know what I’m doing and I promise that I’m not going anywhere.” Becoming the lead assassin for the gang was a little shocking for the mother, but when she truly became dangerously good, she knew she was made for it. She lived through it in the past and wasn’t planning on leaving this earth anytime soon. “Let’s talk more about this after Gabriel is out of surgery and everything has calmed down.” Pulling his head toward hers, she planted a kiss on his forehead before wrapping him in another hug, knowing they both needed it.
THE END.
MALCOLM ALCOTT.
open starter; @rivalsofnycstarters
“I don’t want to hear one goddamn word about it, okay? I’m fine, my shoulder is fucking fine, and I’m tired of sitting on my ass not doing shit.” Malcolm snapped, all but bearing his teeth at the person next to him as he just tried to get a fucking beer and enjoy a public space before he actually lost his mind. “I’m still wearing this stupid fucking sling like I’m supposed to so I’m going to drink a beer, maybe go work on a car or find something else useful to do with my time because I can not sit on my fucking couch any longer.” He stated firmly. “You gotta problem with that, or you gonna drink too?”
Approaching the bar, Sarah’s eyes couldn’t help but lock onto Malcolm. Hearing his harsh words fly through the building, her hunger to protect her members controlled her actions as she headed his way. “Malcolm,” His name escaped her mouth in a stern, yet gentle tone. “I was just coming to see how you’re doing, but seeing as you just told them off, I’m going to skip that question entirely.” A grin pasted onto her lips, the Krongold mother was quick to order a glass of wine before letting her eyes lock onto the younger man again. “Do you mind if I drink next to you or would you like some space?”
GRACE CALLAGHAN.
“In the market for a rosary, by chance? A woman on the street was handing them out earlier and didn’t give me the chance to explain I haven’t the slightest clue how to use one.” Grace remarked as she approached the other before glancing down at the beaded necklace in her extended hand. “Supposedly it was doused in holy water in Rome and has the Pope’s blessing, but I’m a little dubious…”
“No, thank you,” Sarah kindly declined Grace’s offer once approaching the younger woman in the street. “I would take it off your hands, but I don’t have a clue how to use one either.” She confessed easily, chuckling to her own words. “Personally, I think she should be selling those instead of handing them out for free, but that’s just me. What are you going to do with it?”
GABRIEL RUSSO.
°
Gabriel heard someone coming in, doing his best to sit up from his reclining position on the couch. He smiled when he saw that it was Sarah, reaching for the remote and turning the TV off. “Honestly? He might have been my brain feels so jumbled with all the medicine that I can’t even tell you what I have heard and what I haven’t.” He admitted. He shrugged slightly, looking down at his leg. “I’ve gotten better with the crutches. I fell on my ass the first time I tried to use them.” He chuckled. “It horrified Chris but the look on his face was almost worth it.” He looked back at Sarah. “I’m just glad he’s going out and trying to find some semblance of a normal life. I hate that after everything with Sugar Rub he’s now stuck here taking care of me. I know it’s probably not good for him mentally.”
“I understand more than you know,” Sarah truly did as she remembered the last time she was heavily medicated as clear as day. As the horrific event from 33 years ago clouded her mind, speaking about Christopher to his boyfriend made it go away. “My boy has always been the one to scare easily. Halloween became my favorite time of the year all because of how much he jumped from the horror films, moving lawn decorations, and masked costumes.” She said with a chuckle. Taking in the injured man’s words, she was quick to shake her head and lay her hand on his shoulder for support. “Oh sweetie, the last thing Chris feels around you right now is stuck.” She said kindly and calmly before continuing on. “He’s a social butterfly, but he would rather be here next to you, I’m sure of it.”
JOSHUA KRONGOLD.
Things have been weird. So weird, that Josh really didn’t know what he was doing. Calling shots as he saw him was something he was used to, but after a while it becomes a little tiring. Life was full of unexpected events. That didn’t make it any less god damn annoying. As much as he enjoyed the chaos that this life could bring, he’d had enough for the year.
Joshua entered the door, looking tired in disheveled. He was one who preferred to look more rugged than primped, but it was evident that the last few weeks had taken their toll.
“Hey,” he replies, coming to her side and wrapping an arm around her waist, his chin resting upon her shoulder.
“Yeah… just figured the work I was doing out there, I could do just as easy, here.”
“I’m glad you’re here,” Her gentle grin staying planted on her lips, Sarah spoke he truth. She needed help thinking up a revenge plan against the Devils and who better to dice one up with than her husband and the president himself. Taking in more of his exhausted features, she was quick to push her mug into his open hand. “Here, have the rest of my coffee and I’ll make myself another cup.” She said before she leaned up and pressed her lips against his cheek. Covering the kissed spot with her hand, her thumb caressed his face for a few moments before concern took over her features. “What’s going on in that gorgeous head of yours?”
JENNIFER KRONGOLD.

Jennifer leaned against the wall, her eyes looking around the place as she observed all of the Royals gathered together. She kept herself by the door, not wanting anyone who wasn’t one of them to come in because it was bad enough one establishment blew up into pieces, another was flooded and the stories they were all coming up with to hide what was going on inside this one. It was better for her to stand by the door and let whoever tried to open it know the shop wasn’t open. She inhaled as her eyes moved towards a figure heading in her direction. It was something she was used to by now being the child that was checked on last but this time there was no bitter feeling behind it. If someone needed their mama more, it was Chris. She moved off the wall, giving her mother a little nod. “Hey, how is he?” She asked.
In a room full of Royals, Sarah was glued to Christopher’s side. After everything he went through with Gabriel these past few weeks, she couldn’t imagine the pain, hurt, and anger that was building up inside of him. She knew it was growing and was bound to explode out of him sometime soon, so she stayed by his side to stay on top of it. Once she watched him walk toward his recovering boyfriend, her eyes searched for Jennifer. When she found her daughter, it didn’t take her long to approach her side. “Hi, darling,” she grinned lightly before patting her softly on the back for support. “He’s hanging in there. He may be putting on a strong face, but I can see his anger rising from a mile away.” Even though her mind was filled with worried thoughts about her son, she never forgot about her youngest. “How are you doing?”
CAMILLE RODRIGUEZ.
@sarahkrongcld
Camille sat at the Ace of Clubs, leaning back against the booth as she waited for everyone to gather around. She turned her attention towards the woman who came and sat in the booth across from her. “Hey,” she said softly as she brushed her fingers along the rim of her glass. “Mind if I stay here with you? I’m still… new to this whole thing.”
It was the two week anniversary of the shooting at the masquerade ball and the Royals called a meeting. Sarah wasn’t opposed to it, but at this moment, she didn’t want to be attending it. She would rather be in the gym working on her skills or training her children, but being a role model to most members and prospects, missing a meeting wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. After getting all of the information about the beautiful, newly patched member sitting in the booth, it was time to make her grand introduction. “Hello, Miss. Rodriguez,” she said as she settled into her seat for the rest of the evening. “I don’t mind one bit. Stay with me as long as you’d like.” After answering her kindly, it didn’t take her long to get straight to the point. “First off, I would like to personally say thank you for all of your help during the shooting. I heard you did great work. Second, if you need anything or are curious about what’s going on, please know that I’ll always be here for you.”
