Hey , so here on tumblr I’ll be showing u the process of my Astrid cosplay and I’ll be explaining a little bit of how I made each piece on the way.

Keep in mind that this is my very first cosplay so I might not know every technique and right way to sew and do things.So far I really enjoy the process tho.

To start of I made the shirt

I basically took stretchy fabrics in two shades of red and then sewed two-three stripes together and then on a top that fitted me how I wanted.

My tip here: the darker shade of red was perfect , but the lighter fabric was rolling it self up as I sewed the stripes.

Definitely look for a fabric that doesn’t roll itself up because the rolly fabric made it a lot more difficult to sew it on

As you can see the fabric on the left was a lot easier to work with

I wanted the shirt to fit me as tight as possible so I used a trick to make it work:

I only sewed the stripes in the front , keeping long pieces in each side to I could tie it in the back to make it very tight like so:
