âIt would be a weird one, wouldnât it? What would the follow up line be?â

âIs this a pick-up line I am not familiar with?â
âIt would be a weird one, wouldnât it? What would the follow up line be?â
âIs thaâ whaâ happens? I dinât know they were thaâ acidic.â
âItâs some sort of enzyme or something, but theyâre so addictive I anât help myself.â
Elsa laughed. âThaâs somethinâ Iâd do. Donât worry, I believe ya. D'ya need some help or have ya got it covered?â
âWell, I go told about this string trick, so Iâve been carrying some around in my bag, wanna see if it works?â
âI think you are overreacting⊠I see no smoke.â
âMetaphorical fire.â
Beatrice smiled apologetically. âNot enough sleep, I suppose. Seems I need at least three hours.âÂ
âThree hours? You canât survive on that surely?â
âWhat did you do, put curry on them?â
âNo, but they have an enzyme or something that burns your mouth.â
âChrist on a bike, love, thatâs a tiny dog and a half!â Daran laughed as he slowed to a jog. âSorry, sorry, I shouldnât be laughing, âsjust that heâs barely the size of Câmereâs head!â
âCâmere? Thatâs the dogâs name?â Josie chuckled watching her little dog roll around in the grass. âHeâs small, but a terror.â
âNoâŠthis is a changing room, my dear lesbian.â
âIs it? Wow, who wouldâve thought.â
âYou are a tease! You know how to keep a girl on her toes, donât you?â
âYou give me too much credit, but does this mean itâs worked?â
Bewildered at her reaction, Luke squinted. âNoâŠyouâre my cousin. Jesus. I saw you like a month ago. Iâd have hoped youâd at least have recognised my face, let alone my voice.â
âI know who you are, Luke, but just because youâre my cousin doesnât mean I wonât kick your arse. What are you being so defensive about, show me.â
âWhy are ya tellinâ me this?â
âWhy not?â
Bea looked up, a confused expression on her face for a few moments. âSorry, must have been muttering away again. Trying and failing at marking.â Â
âNo worries, I just thought youâd said something to me and I was blanking you.â Josie smiled, putting down her drink. âHow come youâre failing?â
âCâmere! Dog!â Daran chased after both his dogs, giant, reddish-yellow, hulking masses of fur, which were indeed named Câmere and Dog. It was walkie time, and they were running rampant through the park as he struggled in vain to rein them in, leashes flying behind him.
Josie laughed as Sammy ran up towards the bigger two without a care in the world, his body bouncing through the grass. âYouâre dogâs are adorable.â She laughed, keeping an eye on her sausage dog.
As Luke heard Juliaâs engagement ring drop out of his pocket he turned around quickly, to stop the person behind him grabbing it first. âDonât touch that,â he yelled out, somewhat aggressively. âSorry,â he then apologised before they could get offended.
Josie was snapped out of her daydream by someone yelling, stopping in her tracks she raised her eyebrow in surprise. âWhat are you...â She began, noticing him pick something up. âIâm not a thief.â
âI dinât jusâ catch you breakinâ into thaâ car, did I?â
âDonât worry, itâs my car. Like the ditz I am, I left the keys in the ignition.â
âI have eaten too many pineapple slices and my mouth is on fire.â
âHeâs taken her! Heâs taken my baby!â
âRing the police.â
