“you know what helps with fear? chocolate penises. penii? whatever the plural of dick is. dicks.”
one miniature phallic shaped chocolate makes it’s way out of a small paper bag resting on the table in front of him into is mouth and he bites off the end – taking a moment to examine the slightly melting carnage before the rest of the candy is devoured.
( so the table he’s lounging at - a knack for appearing so laid back he’s practically a liquid - just happens to be in the street close to the murder alley ( which he can’t get close to )… just so happens to have wandered here… not that he’s looking for the dead specifically, but hey - if some spirit wants to forewarn him about a murderer that he can - a v o i d - then bonus points all round ).
“well… maybe not fear...”
“…and it doesn’t really help. but it’s chocolate. which is better than no chocolate.”
Julius wasn’t one to normally patron small cafes but this one happened to be special. The outside table he was seated at was within eyeshot of the alley where the murder had taken place, his seat gave him the perfect view of the chaos unfolding around the entrance to the alleyway. Pulled from his thoughts, he looked over as the man across from him at the table spoke. He hadn’t even noticed him sitting there.
“Dark times call for things much stronger than chocolate.” Julius glanced at the small chocolates and he couldn’t help but chuckle at the comical shape. “That or an actual dick.” Eyes drifting over to the other man, he let himself into the other’s thoughts, a man this close to a crime scene had to have a purpose. His thoughts were scattered, disorganized, and incredibly hard to read. All Julius was able to read was that he wanted to know something about the murderer. Well, that’s no fun. If the murderer was found this early it would ruin the fun of watching people panic and blame each other as their witch hunt carried them to all the wrong places.
