Hi, so I just found out my dad is looking into joining the Proud Boys and I am feeling VERY unsafe.
I made a poster on this time last year saying my parents were debating kicking me out because I was trans. I'm 18 now, and I ended up staying, because my mom turned over a new leaf. I thought my dad had as well, but he was just playing it safe for a while so I wouldn't leave.
He openly agrees with crabwood ideology, and denies their relationship to neo-fascism and white supremacy. He is still incredibly transphobic and ableist, and I am at a complete loss. No members of my family stand up for me, including my mom, and it's getting unbearable to live with him. My therapist is growing increasingly concerned for my well-being, and so am I. I don't think I'll be in physical danger, but this is definitely an unsafe situation for other reasons.
I am registered with my state's I/DD services, but my caseworker is absolutely useless and hasn't been able to give me any concrete information on financial aid or housing assistance in over a year. I am autistic and physically disabled due to an undiagnosed muscular or connective tissue disorder. I have an appointment with a rheumatologist tomorrow.
I have a job, but I'm only able to work enough to make around $400 a month. Combined with gas, and food, that isn't enough to live on. I also have access to a car, which will soon be transferred to my name. With financial assistance, though, I may not be able to keep it, so I can't guarantee I'll have it in a few months.
If you are in the Oregon area, preferably near Salem or Portland, and have any ideas on how to help me I'd be grateful.
EDIT: My appointment is Friday the 16th of July. I forgot it was Wednesday lol.
