some uh, david chapman and jake lourdes again. been re-reading between the teeth and bookmarking passages i wanted to draw.

The dialogue i like, i just didnt stick it to the actual book's description so take it however you want.

Struggling with colors as usual, so many things to draw, not enough time in the day for it...

some more georgie and robbie, this time when theyre a bit older, reaching up to the later chapters. I know Georgie is supposed to have brown hair, i think i lightened it a bit too much while color grading and painting it, but i do think him being a bit lighter is a nice contrast. Peep robbie's cute little belly :^)

i had so much trouble with this piece, i'm learning to paint atm so it's really just trial and error when it comes to this stuff...

Another quick piece of Robbie and Georgie. Robbie being the main centerpiece for this. Really enjoyed the back and forth of them being at BU and Washington early in in their story which mainly inspired this.

Been listening to Dhruv while drawing this and I think really fits the vibe, his two songs Speed of Light, and How? Are two great ones

Mike and Liam from thrown off the ice!! so devastating i bawled my gd eyes out. reread is imminent. love them to death and i know mike is a big softie, he doesnt have to tell us

I gave Liam a uniform that looks more like the minnesota wilds uniform cause i hate the color scheme of the minnesota north stars and to give Mike the Oilers uniforms cause it was the last one he wore.

Why is your Jake so thin? And David so big lol ? Jake’s supposed to be Pretty Big for Hickey standard and David Small

Idk it's just how i saw them while reading. I think some hockey players can be kinda thin but, yeah definitely ranges. For David, he's wearing all the padding that makes hockey boys look bulky and i kind of drew it a bit oversized if im being honest. if it weren't for it, david would look thinner without it all.

The Jake i drew is hunched over so if he was standing he'd be way taller than David. Though it is true he I did draw him pretty thin, and i do think for really tall guys its hard to put on mass anyways so it made sense for me. But in terms of artistic purposes i thought it'd be a nice contrast and give him a nice fluid line of action while David is more angular, rectangular and solid.

if u dont really like it, that's fine, just thought id provide my thoughts anyways. I tend to imagine them a bit differently from the book but then again that's just me.

Some of the og YCMAL with Dan and Marc. They’re my favorite couple from ycmal since they started everything!! Tbh I made Dan look a bit like how I imagined Lourdes but tbh sometimes all these white hockey boys look too similar 😭

I’ll have to go back and redraw some of the other guys from the other fics in the ycmalverse

I always pictured David with a tight buzz and I’m not sure why to be honest, maybe it’s a personality thing. Though longer boyish hair would be cute too. Love these two to death though.
