David Moreno’s Wood Stick Fantasies
David Moreno uses humble wood sticks to create intricate architectural sculptures. The sticks read like pencil lines of different lengths and depths that only come together when seen from afar to create these incredible structures. Stilt houses, floating cities and surreal stairs are all the product of his imagination and talent.

Cooling towers are stupidly large, some towering more than 800 feet tall. And according to Reginald Van de Velde, who has spent quite a lot of time inside them, they look bigger from within. “You feel really little in them,” he says.

Train cars filled with coal are stationed in Norfolk, Virginia. Operated by the Norfolk Southern corporation, Lamberts Point Pier 6 is the largest coal-loading station in the Northern Hemisphere and serves at the temporary depot for the company’s fleet of 23,000 coal cars.
