"Can you at least knock?"
"Are you really going to question now?â
"Little late, donât you think Reporter Girl?"
"Oh, fuck off buzz cut."
"Ok, thank you, whoever gave Max the bone thatâs the size of his body. However I donât appreciate the scent thatâs taken over my room.â
"He totally does though."
âŠoh shit, is that something burning?
Totally your fault.
âThat was a good shot. Help me up, would you?â
"Told you that I've learned a thing or two. Come on, Old man."Â

What if this isn't right for me?
Do you view Herc as a surrogate father?
I don't know if he's there yet. He is a father figure though.
Back to the casual violence Jaz?
Casual? I don't take what I have to do lightly, I'm just not going to let some idiot run his mouth.
We haven't seen any fights between you and the marshall recently, everything alright?
I don't fight with the Marshall, we just happen to disagree from time to time.
Herc rests his elbows on his desk and gives Jazmine a sad sort of look. âIs he ok? Are you ok? What happened?âÂ
She sighed. Jazmine hated disappointing Herc, yet it seemed that she did it ridiculously often. "He was insisting to some other cadets that he spent the night in my bunk. I confronted him, he kept pushing it, so I lashed out. Just a bloody nose, it won't take time away from his training."Â
Herc, just barely, manages to hold back the sigh. He looks up at Jazmine, rubbing his forehead slightly. âWhat happened?â
She pursed her lips, small fingers clenching to form a tight fist. "I lost my temper when that idio-.." Pausing, Jazmine rethought her words. "When another cadet...said some inappropriate things. It was stupid."
"If any of your files are incomplete, any reports unfinished, I would suggest you get them in order sooner than later." Herc said, eyes dipping back down to the stack of papers in front of him. "PPDC London is crawling up my back, need it done soon."
Avoiding his glance, Jazmine murmured quietly. "Expect an incident report from me within the hour, one of the instructors is making me report on something that happened with another cadet."
"Do I know this someone?â
"Well, seeing as I don't know who you know....I can't answer that question."
The drug came to Jasper in his sleep. It was just a harmless cat nap, and who could have predicted that the Shatterdome would be sabotaged while everyone least suspected it?
It worked itâs way through his system, just as it did everyone else who had the unfortunate luck of encountering the drug.
Jas awoke feeling sick, dizzy, but sometimes it was because his room was too stuffy or not well enough ventilated. You didnât get five-star service here in the âDome, and it wasnât expected.
Deciding to stretch his legs, Jasper swung his feet over the edge of the bed and sleepily padded over to his door, pulling the heavy hunk of metal open and stepping out into the hall where the air was cooler, though not by much. He sat on the steps leading to his door, closing his eyes and resting his head back against the wall, only sitting a moment before he heard (or thought he heard) a noise. As his eyes opened, he saw a flash of red hair and the pattering of bare feet against the concrete floor.
He stood up quickly, thinking he recognized the back of whoeverâs head, but he didnât know anyone here. He hopped off the steps, taking a few quick strides to round the corner as fast as he could without fully running. Just as he turned, the girl with the red hair disappeared around another corner. This time he ran, going as fast as he could to round the second corner, and came face to face with- his sister.
Jasper shrieked, loud as his lungs could push out air, and folded in on himself as his legs buckled, half with terror and half with utter surprise. It echoed in the empty halls, bouncing off the walls and the doors, and Jasper sat with his head buried in his arms, shaking.
The shriek woke her from her dreams, Jazmine only recognizing the sound when she was already on her feet, running towards her door. Even if the 'Dome was, in a way, one of the safest places in the world...you never knew. Her legs were cold, the shorts and tank top she wore for pajamas weren't really much to keep her warm once she was exposed to the open air, though they were perfect for when she was cuddled under the heavy duty blankets provided to them, as well as the softer fuzzy one that she still had from her childhood.Â
Wrenching the door open, she ran towards the sound she now recognized as Jasper's scream. After the last time, she figured this was another nightmare. Spotting the pilot, she raced towards him, almost slipping as her bare feet padded on the floor.
Jazmine almost knocked into him as she dropped to her knees to get down to his level, wrapping her arms around him. "Jasper? Jas? What's wrong?" Putting her hand to his cheek, she forced the man to look at her. "Should I get the Marshall?"
