Part of him was tempted to smack Cream away when she went to help, but - admittedly - if he attempted to do so, he likely would have missed and caused himself to fall again anyways. Thus, he’s left to accept her support even if she really didn’t want it. He falls onto his (broken) rump, barely able to sit up given the state of his legs, but his arms keep him supported, and his gaze remains steadily on Cream, waiting for her to do something fishy.
She does what she does because she wants to make the unhappiness in the world go away? Fah. What a bunch of bologna.
It was his only real response to what she had to say. Clearly this child was misguided or incredibly naive if she thought she could ‘fix’ this world through kindness. The only dominating force in this world is domination, not love or prosperity.

He reaches up to grab his head, claws clenching tightly on his shattered chassis. Why was this little girl so.. what’s the word - dumb? Ignorant? …. sweet? He doesn’t deserve her kindness, especially not after the things he’s done.

It’s almost like he’s trying desperately to make her stop being nice to him. He doesn’t understand kindness - he thinks she’s just toying with him, trying to butter him up just so she can double-cross him. No, this had to be a fake, right?? She was faking. She HAD to be.
Stupid, ignorant, child-eyed wonder, she’d heard it all, but that didn’t mean she would ever stop being nice. If she did, she would be just like the others who gave on being kind because it was difficult. It’s so much easier to let yourself succumb to all the hatred within the world. And she wasn’t blind, nor idiotic. She may be a child, but she was a smart one. It was prevalent all through the world, the poor souls that get their kicks from harming others, or knocking them further down when they were already as low as they could go. Showing the folks who act that way of an alternative, a different road they can travel, and aiding life in putting better individuals in it was something she strived to do by the daily. Even one kindhearted action could change the world.
Once the other couldn’t get up on his own, Cream made up her mind, a nod before moving down and offering a hand to Metal Sonic. A gloved palm turned upward, as open and carefree as possible, seeing if the metallic of the two would accept it. Insane... she smiled. In the face of a robot created by Eggman, pleading for its own hatred, she smiled. It wasn’t condescending, oh no, it was quite soft. Genuine. Sweet.
“But I don’t hate you. I don’t even like using that word, hate. It’s a mean word, it’s almost bad as cursing to me. But you’re right, you have been doing things that hurt people for a while. That doesn’t mean you can’t stop. You have a choice between right and wrong, it’s a choice all of us make every day! Eat that sugary snack before lunch, or hold off before you finish your food! You have the choice to decide against the bad wants you have, and before you make that decision, I want you to see the other way you can live your life. Without all of the destruction and pain. The way with peace and love... I feel like your way of thinking might change once you see that there is a second option for you. That you are worth not only my kindness, but everyone's! You’re asking me to hate you like there’s no other result. I want you to see that there is.”
