Hey everyone!

I've been on here for a while, and I finally decided to make an intro post. My name's Jude, but you could also call me Jay if you want, I don't really mind. I'm 25 years old and I use he/they pronouns. I'm a intersex FtM transgender dysphoric transmasc demiboy butch lesboy dyke. I'm a butch-trans cusper. No, I do not want your insight on how it's a term created by T//RFS. I have taken the identity and claimed it as my own. If you can reclaim slurs and insults used against you, I can call myself a cusper. I'm also a stoner.

I'm mixed Japanese, Cuban, and primarily African and Native American. Born to a tribe in America, raised primarily in Cuba, residing in Australia for University. Going to school for education, taking gender studies classes. I want to teach lgbtq history, although I also intend to move back with my tribe after my schooling.

I'm Jewish, practicing, but a born Catholic. This doesn't influence who I am now, and I have never called myself a Catholic. I just wanted to note that.

I don't identify with the terms tme or tma. I am a visibly trans intersex + black person, therefore I experience transmisogyny. You can decide if it's 'misdirected' or not. I'm chronically ill, disabled, and neurodivergent. On my account I mainly post about lgbtqa+ issues, ie. transandrophobia, transmisogyny, homophobia, etc. Being a black and latino person I also talk a bit about racism, and I mention ableism often as well. Ask me to tag certain triggers, I'll try to remember.

I'm not opening my follow list to you, but I regularly reblog from and interact with people like nothorses, dead-dyke, yharnamsnewslug, tylenol-tranny, vaspider, etc. If you're uncomfortable with that I sincerely do not care.

Hi, everyone! I’m a trans and queer artist whose parents have completely cut him off! To survive the next nine months, I’d have to use the money I had saved for a full year for my top surgery. My mother has stated that my top surgery is “obviously an optional, aesthetic choice”, so I should use it for something else. Officially, I have no job, no income, and I finish classes around June. Remember during the Texas freeze when they lost power, and leftists and liberals were completely unsympathetic because Texas is a red state, and they were completely igniting the fact that the people most effected by the freeze were BIPOC, poor, and disabled people (ie the people that these leftists claim to care so much about) and people like me were like "WTF I'm literally on your side, and you're saying you don't care if I freeze to death because you think I'm one of them." ?

I feel like we've hit that point with the vaccines.

Hospitals are prioritizing the vaccinated over unvaccinated because they have a higher survival chance. And leftists and liberals are like "Good, I hope all of those plague rats die. It was their choice to not be vaccinated."

And don't get me wrong. I don't have the mental and emotional energy to sympathize with people that won't get vaccinated.

But there plenty of disabled people, cancer patients, people with autoimmune issues, transplant recipients, etc that got vaccinated, but their body can't create the antibodies it needs to in response to the vaccine.

Like, don't get me wrong. I don't particularly care about the people that chose to not get vaccinated. I'm just saying I want people aware that when they say "I hope those unvaccinated assholes die" you're also talking about people that either couldn't get the vaccine or people that could, but their immune system couldn't create an immune response.

Always be careful who you're attacking when you say shit. Shit like this gets minorities (particularly disabled people, BIPOC people, and poor people) caught in the crossfire.

it’s that time of year again… if you’re someone looking to support writers & have some money to spare, here is a list of organizations that actually support writers, offer resources, and work to share diverse stories from diverse people.

we need diverse stories: what it says on the tin. this program works to create various workshops to celebrate diverse writers & artists, to mentor young aspiring writers, to support diverse publishing, and to get diverse books in classrooms worldwide.

some of their programs include:

Black creatives fund

Black creatives mentorship

Native fund

the Native children’s and YA writing intensive

they also have a page full of various resources for readers, writers, educators, publishers, and booksellers.

Asian American writers’ workshop:

dedicated to creating, publishing, developing and disseminating creative writing by Asian Americans, and to providing an alternative literary arts space at the intersection of migration, race, and social justice.

they cover poetry, fiction, essays, and various other literary forms. they also have a page focused on Black and Asian feminist solidarities, which i personally encourage all to take a look at.

Kundiman:

focusing on nurturing and supporting generations of writers and readers of Asian American literature. each year they host 30-40 reader and writer workshops across the united states to connect audiences to Asian American literature. they offer online classes, there is a poetry coalition, and a mentorship lab based out of new york city.

Hispanic Heritage Literature Organization:

an organization that emphasizes the importance of the legacy of stories, especially from a cultural perspective. they support and elevate the work of Hispanic writers, and highlight the cultural importance of storytelling.

they have goodwill ambassadors all across the world, and host multiple fairs & festivals that focus on Hispanic heritage, as well as various other cultural, artistic, and literary programs.

poets.org:

a website produced by the academy of american poets that functions to share poetry online and support poets at every stage of their career. they offer resources for educators to bring poetry into the classroom, as well as hosting a massive online catalogue of poetry with over 3,000 featured poets. i personally receive their poem-a-day newsletter, where they send you a poem to your email every morning.

Cave Canem:

a literary organization specifically for Black poets. they offer workshops & lectures, and host various opportunities for fellow Black poets.

CantoMundo:

a national poetry organization that cultivates a community for Latinx poets both young and old, hosting workshops, symposia, and public readings.

the Hurston/Wright foundation:

another organization that provides a variety of writer workshops specifically for Black writers, both youth and adult, as well as an award program, and hosting public readings of Black literary works.

torch literary arts:

an organization established to help promote and support Black women and girls in writing. they publish contemporary creative writing by both established and emerging writers, provide workshops, and resources for educators.

nanowrimo:

yes, even nanowrimo! they have a young writer’s program that takes national novel writing month and makes it accessible to young writers, educators, and families. they offer resources for writers and educators, as well as host online panels for diverse writers & online workshops focusing on community and connection.

people of color in publishing:

publishing is the biggest hurdle marginalized writers face when it comes to getting their work out there.

this organization focuses on empowering and uplifting people of color in publishing and throughout the entire industry, in hopes to create an inclusive and safe space for all writers. they host mentorship programs and networking lunches, as well as highlight job listings specifically for writers of color.

they also have a survey specifically for collecting data about racism in the workplace faced by publishing employees, used to amplify the dialogue about the industry as a whole and the need for immediate action to become anti-racist.

worldbuilders:

while the focus is not specific with writers, it is a massive force to fund education, opportunity, and sustainable self-sufficiency for families and communities worldwide. “geeks doing good.”

founded by patrick rothfuss, it is backed by a variety of authors and artists from comics, fiction, and gaming. they vet charities and ensure that any money you donate is going to a reputable organization, ones that are usually otherwise overlooked by members of the online community.

even if you are unable to donate, every single one of these programs have newsletters and social media - follow them, promote them, sign up for the newsletters. get informed about the issues faced by marginalized writers in this community and commit to uplifting them and spotlighting their work.

make an effort to expand your library and listen to new voices.

here's ur reminder that axolotl is NOT pronounced like "ak-suh-laa-tl" (or lot-ul), it is in fact a nahuatl word (that most commonly translates to "water dog" actually, very cute!) and is pronounced "ah-SHOW-lowtch" !!!!

don't reblog this ^ addition and similar additions (especially ones shitting on the pronunciation in any way). as a native american speaking about a native language (albeit not my own) i think it's VERY important that words from native languages specifically must maintain their integrity. this word has not been loaned, it has been colonized. there's a huge difference and it's important for everyone to learn how to pronounce it correctly becoz of this.

if you're having a hard time pronouncing this, nahuatl people have given english speakers easier ways to pronounce it without erasing its integrity. if "lowtch" is hard to wrap your head around, try ah-show-lotch or you can change the "tch" to a "k" (making it ah-show-lok)
