I want to fall into a romantic and sexual love with Joan Cusack
fascinated by the giant hole in citizen kane where none of the people thompson interviews, nor thompson himself, look into the death of kane's son and if it meant anything to him or turned anything in him. we see before and after and the mother disappears but we only see one small moment of kane with his son; he seems happy; he seems sad for his son to go—but none of the people who give their experiences on kane, whose memories we depend on to document what mattered, count the boy's death for anything at all.
this is not a big thought i just noticed this today (while watching on the big screen! if you're in the us you can go see it too, on wednesday). it's odd that in all that detective work trying to find rosebud they looked for women and business and the paper and the mansion but they missed the little boy—they missed the little boy twice.
My only complaint about the film
I love that Joan Cusack has a cute little bob hairdo for the Toy Story 5 press tour. She looks amazing.

I’m reading Katharine Hepburn’s memoir about filming The African Queen right now and uh. She really did write a whole paragraph on how gorgeous Lauren Bacall is, only to conclude with “I gazed at her and wondered whether I would go mad with jealousy”
