I’ve noticed more and more brands utilising social media in retail, as part or a whole campaign. There’s been a shift in influence in fashion, with shoppers being inspired and persuaded more and more by bloggers (I’ve a few favourites I follow), pinterest and instagram. Cool to be square
I’m a big fan of Anya Hindmarch’s iconic graphic bags and would love to own one. I was very excited to visit her store at Westfield in London. Her current campaign ‘Cool to be Square‘ did not disappoint with striking graphic window perfectly showcasing her latest collection. Unfortunately I left the store without one of her bags but did manage to get a cute sticker.

This brand has bottle loads of personality. Discovered by chance in Brighton, the Bison Craft Beer Shop is a total experience. Everything has been thought through really well, with authentic wooden fixturing, hand drawn blackboard signage and their iconic bottles lined up to create a feature.

January Sales 2016
It seems that the sales come earlier and earlier each year so by the time I got out to the sales there was not a lot left and most shops were in further reductions. There were a few brands that brought out their regular sale graphics like ZARA and Topshop.
Most used the classic sale red but there were a couple that did something a little different, like Lush calling their sale ‘The Grand Bazarre

I haven’t really had the chance to see all the high street Christmas windows this year, but this one from White Stuff stood out for me. ‘Let’s get cracking‘ is a really fun campaign with brightly coloured, glittery drummers made from crackers each wearing an animated moustache. Gift sets are cleverly displayed on their drums.

This Aldo window caught my eye a couple of months ago. Aldo always have simple, bold iconic window campaigns and this is no exception. Hot stuff – from Lush
Lush is a shop which is hard to walk past without noticing, you’re usually hit with a strong fragrance. I always love their windows as they are usually very bright and graphic (my favourite kind).
The window is simple and bold, with the attention grabbing headline ‘Looking for some hot stuff’. Complimented by the packaging which is quirky and kitsch, I love the retro ‘Life’s a beach!’ pack.

The summer seems to be almost over so to brighten your day I’ve tracked down a delayed post from early in the summer – a pop up promotion piece from Ugg – Summer of Ugg in Covent Garden. It uses classic seaside stripes as a backdrop, showcasing the seasons shoes supported by polaroids of lifestyle shots. The campaign shop window also continued the simple, bright seaside theme.

Another store I visited while in Florida was Earth Fare, they claim to define real food. They had the warmth and quirky hand drawn signs like a Wholefoods, but the inside had a more bold direct feel.
