Miss Hesketh always has a way of pulling you out of any single funk you’re in and making your day 97% better. Her lady-like vocals, upbeat, pop infused production and freeing lyrics guarantee a brighter day.
If we were able to handpick from a field of musicians who we would want to soundtrack our summer, Zimmer would totally be in the pile. “Heartbreak Reputation” featuring the lovely vocals of Polina is like an auditory vacation for your mind- night time, with palms swaying back and forth, warm air dusted with sea salt. This will be on repeat until further notice.
After Diddy debuted this at the BET Awards on Sunday, he realeased a full stream of it the next day. And then we’re pretty sure Apple Music released it today as a part of their launch, so..yay for this song in all areas!
Father John Misty covered Arcade Fire’s “The Suburbs”, and recreated the song that might be one of the greatest songs written in the last decade or so. (Our opinion). However, never in our lives did we think there would come cover that would even compare to what Mr. Little Jeans did to that song, but now it looks like we have some fierce competition.
(PSA Soundcloud is being frustrating and not letting us post the track so I had to post the image, track found below)
This is just a dream come true in song form. Anything Shadow Child has his hands on is a pretty safe bet that it’ll take you away from wherever you are in one way or another. And this is no different. Possibly one of the most beautiful songs we’ve heard this summer. Now all we need to do is go to Greece and listen to it on the beach during sunset.

There will always be a point in ones lifetime of listening to music, that they will come across an artist and / or sound that is so pure, so honest, so rare, and so impeccably flawless that you do nothing but listen to their music and pray to the gods of sound that they just keep the momentum going for the rest of eternity. However, while this rare occasion in music is precious, there is the contradicting emotion you feel towards this particular artist as well; half of you wants to do anything to spread their gospel to anyone and everyone all across the board, and the other half wants to keep it all to yourself so it can be your little secret – a place to escape and feel like you have a weapon against the masses of people listening to the same things over and over. But, the former ends up outweighing the latter, and you become so enigmatic about this music it that sharing it over and over again almost becomes detrimentally stimulating, a rush of power that comes from showing it off to everyone you meet.
With that being said, may we introduce you to one of these bands; Sofi Tukker. Sofi Tukker consists of Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern, a duo who met and started producing at Brown University together, who have taken the blogosphere by complete and utter storm. Their sound is a mix of Brazilian funk, a dash of heavy guitar chords that will never fail to get your bum moving, and multiple pinches of sex appeal that will have you sweating as soon as you push play. Their single “Drinkee” premiered on Interview Magazine, which not only excited the masses, but left everyone who listened wanting more, and quickly.
We brought the duo to Gibson Studios in Hell’s Kitchen to practice their live set, and luckily for us got to chat with them a bit about their production process, DJing together, and what they hope to have happen within the next year.
“The Phone Call” by Owen Pallett is just one of the musical installments continuing for 19 full weeks for the Adult Swim Singles package. For that amount of time, all the singles provided are a free download. Head on over to the site to check it out in full. --> Adult Swim Singles
Ever since we saw Dennis multiple times in Miami for MMW, we have basically set an alarm for anytime he releases a new production or remix. His remix to “One Of Us” is a vocal masterpiece turned into what will probably be one of the most favored dance tracks this summer in sets far and wide across the lands.
This one starts off pretty strong. It’s a bit overwhelming, so we’ve come up with scenarios of when to listen to the track on LOUD.
1: When you’re about to kick that 4th miles butt in the gym. 2: When you’re trying to hype your friends up so they’re ready and excited for the night. 3: When you’re driving late at night and need to stay awake at the wheel. 4: When you want to piss off your neighbors. 5: Any other time, really.
WHOA.
This Friday is off to a pretty good start! Let’s continue this good day with the fact that PARA ONE JUST GOT SIGNED TO ED BANGER RECORDS!!!! WOOO HOOO! Extremely stoked about this one, great fit, super French, super talented (a little confused about what’s to come of Marble) but YEAH.
Check out his new track “Elevation” with the South African Youth Choir, download for FREE and dance because it’s FRIDAY!
Bob Moses released a very ominous video for “Talk” today. A story unfolds of a girl and boy getting into some sort of argument, driving far away with a boarding pass in stow, meeting a gaggle of masked men in the woods and getting into a car with them. Fin. We’re on the edge of our seats so we’re all really hoping for a part II.
HAERTS has released a new track called “Animals”, which was inspired by a movie the band saw together that had a scene with underwater happenings. Is this foreshadowing of a new album being created? One can only hope.
Remember we posted this track about a month or so ago? Well, it has a video now and we would be lying to you if we told you we haven’t watched it multiple times already. Mike Shinoda and Steve Aoki, saving the world one adorable child at a time.
On Monday, June 29th, Panda Bear will digitally release his PBVGR Remixes compilation (rejoice!), so until then, we can tide ourselves over by listening to the Pete Rock remix of “Crosswords”.
If you haven’t listened to Giorgio Moroder’s new album Déjà Vú, shame on you. Shame on you repeatedly. If you have, then bless your soul. “74 is the New 24″ not only is hilarious in it’s name, but it’s also a badass jam that reminds us why Giorgio Moroder is who he is. It’s an incredibly smart album, where pop meets techno, and Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, and Sia can all be found within one tracklist. The Lifelike & Kris Menace remix to this is awesome, keeping it true to nature and adding just a little bit of musical sugar.
