Строителството на двореца започва през 1978 г. До 1981 г. той поглъща 335 000 куб. м бетон, изкопани и извозени са 1,7 млн. тона земна маса. В двореца са вложени около 10 000 тона метални конструкции – приблизително толкова има и в Айфеловата кула. Първата колона в сградата е монтирана на 20 юли 1979 година, а последната – на 25 октомври 1980 година.
The building of the National Palace of Culture began during 1978. By 1981 it had made use of 335 000 cubic meters of concrete, and 1.7 million tons of earth were relocated. The palace has approximately 10 000 tons of metal structuring - about as much as the Eiffel Tower. Its first pillar was mounted on July 20th 1979, and the last one - on October 25th 1980.
