Seeing pride discourse IN JULY of all things, the age old debate about nudity at Pride and I just. I grew up in a hyper conservative, rural environment and it wasnt unheard of to be at a local festival (county fair, Oktoberfest, that sort of thing) for a drunk adult to whip out their dick to pee, or flash titties for no apparent reason. Are we so divorced from human interaction that the first time we go outside, its to attend Pride and assume any sort of nudity or sexual behavior is unique to the gay rainbow parade?

Like there were multiple guys who were friends of a friend of a friend type deal in college who were dickish and rude to me - and a few of them straight up sexually harassed me or my friends. Why would I call a press conference to announce that the guy who now works part time at a gas station and barely stays out of trouble due to missing child support payments.....was a creep to me a decade ago? However, if the guy from the local game store who kept "accidentally" touching my legs under the table and who cornered me in a side room to do god knows what (thankfully a different guy saw it going on and immediately came over to get me out of that) was suddenly running for city council - yeah, I might say something publicly. It is a totally different beast to see someone who has abused you trying to OBTAIN POLITICAL POWER. I dont think theres anything wrong with that at all.
