“I told you not to eat it,” Jin Ling says in exasperation, though definitely not without a twinge of sympathy.

Or, Lotus Pier’s cuisine gets the better of Lan Jingyi. Jin Ling takes care of him.

He didn’t care. It wasn’t like he ever wanted to read those hateful words again. He wanted to tear them into tiny fragments, stomp them into the ground, as if that would somehow make them untrue.

Or, Jin Ling breaks down when Jiang Cheng is gravely injured. Lan Jingyi comforts him.
