Wow what a challenge, set out to do the #artoneillchallenge this year 54km from Dublin Castle trekking through the Dublin Wicklow mountains. Went in carrying a couple of niggly injuries. Started ok but a couple of km in and the knee and hamstring started to give bother. Once I got to the first part of the mountain I fell off the pace badly and struggled with the climb up. 6 hours and 26.6km in and the event was over for me 😫😫. Disappointed but seeing some of the terrain that was to come I'd never had made it. The bonus of the day was to get to witness @_hawkie and Aidey complete the trek in 13hrs 50 mins. A testament to the lads fitness (both physical and mental) as the both said it was the toughest thing they've completed. It was an awesome achievement.
