I think people have a genuine hatred for victims of abuse and assault. I think nobody wants to consider themselves a victim, because in their mind being a victim is the weakest, lowest, most disgusting thing in the world, and if they have to consider the fact that they might have been abused, assaulted, rape, VICTIMIZED then they are a part of that class of Weak and Low people they so despise. And mayhaps, if society so changed that victims could be treated as normal people, be given space to feel broken and hurt without rushing to move on, we might have SOMETHING of a world where hurt/hurting people aren't considered lower than the people that hurt them.

The body of 18 year old Nolan Xavier Wells has unfortunately been found after he went missing from Horn Island, Mississippi. Wells went boating with a group of boys — the rest of the party being white — on July 4th, but he was the only one who didn’t return to shore.

It is becoming increasingly dangerous to be the only black person in a group. Rest in peace, Nolan. You deserve justice.

I’ve found his family’s GoFundMe for his funeral and celebration of life expenses. This campaign was created by their family friend Allayah Denis and is the only campaign they have, all others are fraudulent.
