I’m done with my takes on recreating these 3 large mosasaurs. I’m pretty sure there’s more. That being Hainosaurus, Mosasaurus, and Tylosaurus. Now i’m doing a full project about Prehistoric Marine animals, whether they are reptiles, fish, or aquatic birds.

So this is not my first sketch, actually this is my latest sketch I posted on my TikTok page. So this is my take on The Dicraeosauridae family however there are more than these 3 right here but I feel like these 3 are more popular amongst the Paleo Media when mentioning Dicraeosauridae. So I’m just gonna explain the general description about these 3 :

• Amargasaurus : Amargasaurus is a genus of Sauropod dinosaur from the Early Cretaceous. The first ever specimen that was found in 1991, it had tall neural spines on the neck that people assumed were the spikes of Amargasaurus. However recent research shows that it may have been a sail similar to Spinosaurus and Acrocanthosaurus. Therefore the entire Dicraeosauridae family other than their short necks and small size, some of them most likely have a sail coming from the neck all the way to the backside of the tail.

• Bajadasaurus : Bajadasaurus is one the most unique sauropods ever found in history. It was found in Patagonia, Argentina and had tall neural spines that faced forward and more taller than Amargasaurus. Recent studies shows that the sail was more likely used for display, thermoregulation, or intimidating rivals. However these ideas weren’t confirmed yet.

• Dicraeosaurus : Dicraeosaurus is a genus of diplodocid sauropod that lived in Tanzania during the Late Jurassic. Despite not being the earliest of its family, its name was after the tall neural spines that were found on its neck. Just like its relatives, it had a large head with a short neck, but a long tail very similar to Diplodocids, even though it’s the smallest.
